I spoke with the case manager from Capital Home Health for Austin home physical therapy after my intake by their physical therapist. The lady with whom I spoke called from Dallas and could not have been ruder. She took great enjoyment in speaking over me repeatedly, not allowing me to ask questions, not allowing me to question the referral, nor allowing me to question the number of days authorized. I ended up telling her she was fired after 10 minutes of this. Bottom line, if I allowed Capitol Home Health to treat me as they planned, my insurance company only authorized 3 days of treatment. Capitol Home Health wanted to treat me for six to eight weeks. While their contract states that you would only pay what the insurance pays, and wouldn't have to pay a copay beyond that, in this situation the bill would have been catastrophic and would have ended up being a court case.

I found Care Renewed online and the reviews were all excellent so I called and Fritzi was in our kitchen in 2 hours to discuss care and had a caregiver for us the same evening. I finally had a good night sleep! The team that worked around the clock to take care of my grandmother was so warm, lovable and competent. I spent many hours there with them. They took care of everything in her home from laundry, cleaning, bathing to just hanging out and listening to her stories. It's nice to be comfortable with caregivers when they start out strangers and now feel like family. We had a previous experience with a home health company so I was reluctant to hire another. The former sent an aide that was sick and asleep when I stopped by. My mom was struggling physically/mentally and would just moan. One caregiver told her to be quiet multiple times. Another one refused to help because she had asked for too much help. One was busy on her phone and didn't bother to put my mom to bed so my mom fell asleep on her recliner. I tried to talk to the person assigned to me for staffing and she didn't answer texts/calls. I cancelled with her because the people that they were sending were so bad, that it was better to have no one. I got no answer till after the weekend and I was told that I needed to give more notice. I explained that I tried to give notice, but that person wasn't answering their phone. They sent one last person out that they claimed was their best and no one had every complained. After that person got my mom to sleep, she turned tv to the station she wanted (in room next to my mom) and then started calling friends on the phone and talking loudly over the tv. Find your own caregivers. Staffing agencies send people that couldn't get jobs on their own.

We were losing our father and we were in no way financially responsible for this incident nor could we handle this kind of issue while facing the death of our father. I visited the Round Rock/north Austin location one time in the afternoon, and they attempted to thwart our testing by lying and saying they didn't know if they had enough tests. I'm sure they were trying to go home after a long day, but we showed up at specific time, that was discussed and planned with employees in the week prior, due to a tight timeline with travel restrictions. Although, we were stubborn, and stayed, and once it was our turn they were still friendly and efficient. I like their ease of billing, efficiency, quick turn around time for results, and by and large, excellent customer service. They helped us with many questions and guided us exactly where we needed to be, saving us $600-700 testing fees. Would highly recommend.

(That means we had less than 0.8 antibodies) It al felt a bit sketchy so we go tested the next day at Labcorp (Walgreens). That blood draw revealed that both my father and I had antibodies over 450!! That is almost four times the immunity of a fully vaccinated person. Why would they tell us we had no antibodies?
