Well, lo and behold it's Food Club chunky white tuna that is on sale. This is classic bait and switch!! Big Y stopped making physical membership cards. It's all digital now. Could they train their cashiers to ASK customers if they have a membership?? The only way to get the discount with non-physical cards is to enter the phone number associated to the account. I am sick of having to ask to give my phone number. Shaws makes it easy by allowing people to manually enter their phone number on the payment card reader. How difficult could it be for Big Y to do the same?? Their bakery section does not stock angel food cake. There is one that shows up recurringly but it is expensive and revoltingly dry. What the hell? They also do not stock individual sized Table Talk pies or another brand's. Pathetic!

Yes, it's not as luxurious to shop in, it's usually mobbed, the aisles are tight and the parking lot sucks. Produce is not as great in some items, and they don't carry as many super-speciality foods as Whole Foods or Stop & Shop. However, the people who work there are amazing. They are abundant (try almost every checkout line open during rush) and helpful, and friendly, and the store is well stocked and well managed. No self checkout crap. You don't need it, there's always a line open. We'd kill for an upgraded facility like the nicer newer Market Baskets that do exist, but our Bellingham store crew, from the managers to the baggers are amazing, and make shopping here worth the visit. Their meat department is wonderful, the seafood is great and if you can get near the deli, they work hard and are great too. Finally, a shout out to the bakery and prepared food folks - they are awesome. The food is great and they couldn't be more helpful. We love MB, just wish it was as a new one. Oh, and don't go near the place the day before a major snowstorm, or any Sunday at noon. Plan your visit if possible. 5 stars for the staff and people and management, 3 for the facility. It really needs an upgrade.

The man who helped us went and checked the price. He brought back a picture of the tag. All he needed to say was Sorry mam (to my wife) you grabbed the wrong box, or something along those lines. Instead. he was very rude and condescending to her and insinuated it was her error. We could careless about the dollar, just expected to be treated with respect.
