We don't mind paying a little more in quaint small towns. We prefer the peaceful, low traffic areas of the Oregon Coast. Employees are always friendly and helpful here. We didn't see any employees pumping gas while we were there. They have snack and beverage vending machines available as well. Overall, we got what we needed, gas! The pump we used had a crappy lever on it. It kept clicking off like the tank was full, but we only had about a quarter tank when we stopped in. We ended up putting $80 of gas in the tank, but had to hold the pump lever the entire fill-up. A bit annoying.

It was on the smaller side of Safeway stores, but clean and organized throughout. We stopped here on Sunday afternoon, St. Patrick's Day to get a sweet treat. The bakery section was underwhelming to say the least. They only had 3 or 4 containers of sugar cookies with key lime icing, one container of pistachio pound cake slices, and one decent looking slice of a layered cake with the holiday theme and I was interested in the latter, BUT the top wasn't shut and securely sealed to the bottom. So yeah, no one wants that. The only employee present in the store eventually showed up to the only lit register for us to purchase what we settled for, which was a small container of assorted cookies and a pint of ice cream. On the plus side, the Safeway gentleman was a decent fellow and friendly enough.

These were for our grand-daughter's wedding, which was being held in Newport. We called to ask if we could pick up our order earlier, and they confirmed it was ready. There was no Safeway in Newport. We were so disappointed when we arrived to find that they had gotten our order for one of the two trays wrong. We decided not to have them make us a new tray and just take the one that was correct. They were so apologetic and nice about it, how could we be upset? They were very kind and generous to give us a discount on the tray that we did take. So, we left happy. The sandwiches were a huge hit and were absolutely delicious. Everything turned out well in the end.
