This is the second time I have used these guys and once again they are absolutely fantastic! My boys called to tell me that they could not turn off the water in their shower on Saturday morning. I came to look and found that indeed the handle was no longer functioning. I watched a YouTube video on how to fix this and it looked pretty simple - under $50 I thought. But once I started to get the handle screw loose the handle itself would not come off. Rather than bending the pipes and possibly breaking them, I decided to call dollar. On a Saturday morning it took them less than an hour to arrive to my house! Their service is just fantastic. And, they made sure to give me a call to let me know that they were 15 minutes away. When Al arrived, he quoted me a decent price of 375 for fixing the handle. They charge by the job not by the hour. However, once the cartridge was exposed it was obvious we had quite a much larger problem on our hands. There was leaking inside the wall causing black mold to get into the fiberglass. In addition the entire pipe was calcified very very thickly and there was no possible way that the cartridge assembly was going to be coming out. The only solution was to completely replace the pipes and the fixture. I am single with five kids and certainly didn't have a lot of money to spend on this kind of repair. That is why I absolutely love dollar plumbing! They were completely willing to work within my budget and found a solution to replace the pipes and the fixture so that I could afford it. I have worked with other plumbers locally in Livermore and I can tell you as a fact they would not have done this, and their prices would have been at least double what dollar charged. Woke up one morning to our sprinkler system manifold bursting and water spewing everywhere. I had to turn off our main water valve, only to realize the old valve leaked water. The shutoff valve under my bathroom sink snapped off while I was changing out the sink fixtures. Water. Everywhere. I managed to shutoff the mainline to the house pretty quickly and then called Dollar Plumbing. They were able to come and fix my problem within a few hours notice! Run don't walk away from these guys, I had a washer spigot broken off by a tenant they did get out there quickly the next morning as there was no water since I had to shut the whole house down. Well they showed up no one ever called me for authorization or pricing in fact what they did do is ask the tenant if they authorize the work I had given them all my info I was a phone call or text away instead they took 825.00 from the tenant to replace a threaded in washer spigot. I guess they are sooooooo good they charge 800.00 a hour cause for the life of me I can't figure out how they could get to this kind of money for a threaded in fitting. You would be very wise to stay away from these guys cause it seems they don't mind taking advantage of someone. Imagine if it's your elderly mother or grandmother they would probably be doing a whole house replumb and given their job based pricing that would probably cost 235,000 or so. we needed to have a plumber remove a faucet and garbage disposal in preparation to refinish a sink. also needed to replace a valve. Dollar Plumbing said it was $55 to come out. fair enough. the plumber looked at the job and quoted me something i obviously didn't understand. turns out, after i gave the go-ahead and he performed the work, he presented me with a bill for $650.00 which i negotiated down to $525.00 but still outrageous for a 60-minute effort. Just moved into my Livermore home four days ago so I still had boxes in the garage. Walked out and found the washer hose leaking and getting close to the boxes. They tried to rip me off. TLDR: told me it would cost $350 to replace toilet insides. Didn't do anything and charged me $55 service fee (after they had left my house, knowing my landlord was going to call another company). Other plumber came and fixed it without replacing a single thing. The toilets in my house kept running so my landlord called dollar plumbing to take a look. Two men came, took one look in the tank and told me either the inside of the tank had to be replaced for $350 or the whole toilet for $700. I did find it strange they only took a glance but brushed it off. They left so I assumed since they did nothing it would be free. WRONG. They charged me $55 for this. Oh and they didn't charge me before they left. They called me when they were already in their car about to leave saying they were told to charge me a $55 service fee. If there is a service fee, shouldn't you be aware of that..strange you decide to call me before you leave, after my landlord already told them she'd be getting a second opinion. They told me if I went with them this would go towards my bill, otherwise they just keep it. (KEEP IN MIND I HAD A SECOND PLUMBER COME IN AND FIX IT WITHOUT REPLACING ANYTHING) My landlord smartly called another plumber for a second opinion who came by shortly later. He took a look and was able to fix the toilet by bending the wire inside the tank. He told me how to fix it myself if the issue happens again or if it continues that we need to replace the part. ONE PART. And he said that part only costs $10. I complained to him about how Dollar Plumbing wanted to charge me $350 and he said I'm the second person he's heard of this happening to. Unbelievable! Best plumber for a great price. We had a leak and could not find the source. I called Dollar Plumbing and they were at my home before I arrived home from work. They discovered that copper pipes we're connected to galvanized steel. This creates pinhole leaks in the copper pipes. They replaced the pipe and connection and it is good as new! Best of all, the cost was much less expensive than the other plumbers' quotes. I will call Dollar Plumbing for all of my plumbing needs. read more

Recently, I got a bill paid by my Property Management Company for snaking procedure in the main sewer line to clear out a build up of roots in the line. When I lived there, it is now rented, I would have someone come in to clear the line on the average about once yearly. In the many times I had this done I was never charged more than $175 usually less. The bill Dollar Plumbing charged was $720. and by the description of what was done on the billing statement no more was done than what others had done. This is gouging in the literal sense and I will never use this company ever again to service my property. My recommendation is to look elsewhere if you need plumbing services read more
