This is an update to a previous review where I warned others that this business is a scam. I am still suspicious, but we did receive a full refund for our order. Here are the reasons we sincerely thought we were scammed: - Invoice generated from an automated system with no identifying contact information for the business - When calling customer service, they could not find us in their system based on name, invoice number, or order number. We were told we'd be given a call back and never received a call back - We were bounced around to multiple people when calling customer service, one of those representatives said to us, "we do not sell boxes" - We were eventually sent to a person who said "we are dispatch, we cannot help you" and gave us yet another number to call. That number led to a voicemail box called "dispatch" where we were unable to leave a voicemail - Sending an email to info@kerb.com gave us a timed out response and failed to go through If this company is legitimate, I hope they re-evaluate how they handle customer service. read more

[Original]: I've used them in the past for moving supplies and the first time (2016) it was great. Warren was fast and responsive. The second time (2018) I had to "chase" them a little and eventually had my order delivered. This time, all I received was a receipt and no confirmation whatsoever on the delivery date. When I didn't receive a confirmation a day later, I decided to call. I spoke to someone and she had to confirm with dispatch and would call me back. When I didn't hear back for a few hours, I called again. She picked up after ringing for a few minutes and confirmed my order would be delivered in the time window I specified (2pm-4pm). On the date of the delivery, nothing. No email, text, or call to confirm, say that they were on their way, or running late. At around 4pm, I tried calling and was waiting in the queue for a very long time. I left a voicemail and sent an email asking for an update. Not until 5:15pm did I finally get a call from the deliveryman that he was on his way. They brought the boxes up to my place but forgot a few boxes in my order. Luckily, I had them confirm everything, or else I would have been shorted a few kitchen boxes. Overall, terrible logistics and customer service and won't be using them again sadly. Recommendations to Warren: - After an order is placed, include verbiage in the receipt that they will receive a confirmation within 24 hours. - Send confirmation within 24 hours that their time window has been confirmed. - On the date of delivery, send at least one update via text with a more accurate delivery time. - In your phone menu, if no one is available, rather than have the caller wait in the queue indefinitely, after a few minutes, play a message that no one is available and to leave a message. If your office is closed, have an appropriate message and don't give the impression that you're open by having me wait in a queue. read more

He even asked me if I really needed the 'dish kit' to save me some $, probably (correctly) figuring from my vibe that I didn't have any fine china to protect. I'm on a 5-hour flight...search for box delivery, and this business (With its excellent reviews) stands out. I sent an email describing my situation. Warren responded with an email and voicemail in minutes. We discussed my needs, and Warren recommended a package of boxes of various sizes, tape, and tape dispenser, and offered delivery same-day- all for a very reasonable price. I was sure the boxes must be torn up or used multiple times, or that there would be some other problem, but they were all brand new. The boxes were waiting for me when I arrived home 2 hours later. I helped my mom move from southern Oregon down to Oakland, near me. I priced boxes at Target--almost $5 EACH, wow!--and chose the Studio package, plus newsprint and bubble wrap, from Bay Area Box Express. Delivery was easy, and the boxes were either totally unused or pretty much pristine with one strip of tape. Very heavy duty. The newsprint was totally plentiful and the bubble wrap was an incredibly good deal--at least 3x as much as Target was offering for the same price. We didn't end up using all the boxes, but it was still worth what I had paid to have access to 3 different sizes of great-quality boxes. Quite a step up from her last move, with fruit boxes with holes we had to cover with a few sheets of newspaper! I would totally use him again. I can't tell you what a godsend it was to find Bay Area Box Express. I found out a few days ago that I would be moving to the East Coast and needed boxes quickly (so I didnt have enough time to order them online) but didnt want to pay the prices from UHaul or one of those outfits. When I say "I know a guy who can supply boxes", I mean Warren! I am on my third batch of boxes to move our house. Every time he has provided extra boxes for free and we have met twice on weekends in Golden Gate Park when he is walking his dog. He always has a good amount of boxes in his van so you can call or e-mail him and get what you need. Cash is best and you'll always get some extras from Warren. We were debating on using plastic zipgo boxes for our move when our movers said that they would actually slow the move down because of their awkward size (and they drill into the movers backs). He must have some experience with people underestimating how many boxes they'd need, because we actually did run out at the 90% mark and had to buy 10 or so, ranging from large to extra large (for rugs and such) from our movers. What a fabulous service! I moved almost 2 weeks ago, and this business made it SO MUCH EASIER for me. Like everyone else, I scoured the used boxes on Craigslist and did get a good selection of boxes, but it's a tiresome process. People would just leave boxes out on the curb, and basically, by the time you get there, they may or may not be there. What people consider medium turns out to be mini-small, or what people claim to be large turns out to be large enough to store sofa, etc. Frustrating - and totally not my style. After a couple of days, I did what I do best - - SHOPPING. Bay Area Box Express is not just a good idea, but a strong business. First - Warren is great. It's easy to do business with him, and he's punctual and delivers as promised. Equally as important, though, is that their product is absolutely great. The boxes that I ordered (large only) were of superb quality. All of them held up perfectly through my move, from the heaviest to the lightest. I ordered 10 pounds of wrapping paper from them also, which was of the highest quality. (It turned out I had a lot more china and fragile items than I had imagined - - next time I will order the 30 pound option.) I also ordered box tape - and this was perhaps my only complaint. The tape is thin and flimsy, and not the kind I like to use on boxes. I managed by taping 3-4 times over each box, top and bottom, but I'd recommend buying tape from Home Depot or Staples unless he changes his selection. He offers delivery for a $15 fee. That's not a small delivery cost for boxes, but considering his distance, it's reasonable. It becomes VERY reasonable if you order all the boxes you need for your move, whereas I was ordering only the large boxes I needed for my move. He helped me with the boxes all the way up to my apartment which was much appreciated. It turns out 30 large boxes is a LOT so it was $15 well-spent. His web-site is easy to use and CLEAR. What you see is what you get - and prices are reasonable. There are no hidden fees, and what you order is what you get - - on time, and in excellent condition. Lastly, his cute dog comes along w/ him. I love dogs, and this one brought a smile to my face. He's the cutest little thing, ever. For my next move (if ever I decide to do this again) - I will forego Craigslist and just call Warren to arrange the whole thing. The extra you spend to get GOOD, STRONG boxes is worth it. Seriously. If you're moving - call Warren and get your boxes here. Get your wrapping paper here, too, and save yourself the hassle of washing all of your glassware and china amidst unpacking by using clean wrapping paper. I had some 150 boxes to get rid of once I was done unpacking. I, unlike others, just posted an ad on Craigslist 2 days prior to my move offering all the boxes to the first person to come and pick it up from my apartment. Lucky for me, and lucky for them, I had one person who wanted enough to move his 1 bedroom, and another who wanted the remainder, so we picked a day five days after my move when they came and picked it all up and cleared out my house. They got lucky in getting the all the used boxes from Bay Area Box Express, which were still in great condition to reuse at least 2X more. Doing it this way also motivated me to get it ALL done prior to the pick-up day, and gave two people security in knowing they had a certain number of boxes secured for their move. There are many, many benefits to not owning a vehicle in the city. There are also a few minor inconveniences - like figuring out how I'm going to acquire all the packing materials I need to move. Luckily, one of the joys of city life is that if you have a need, any need, someone has started a business to relieve it... Bay Area Box Express saved me time, money and effort with a painless transaction on a sunny Saturday that left me with all the packing materials I need. And I must stress - one of the best parts was how much money I saved. The basic boxes were a great price, but the dishpacks - I cannot believe how inexpensive the dishpacks were! Everything else, from packing tape to newsprint, fell under the heading of 'won't break the bank'. The website says to call in your order, but I wanted a non-standard package so I emailed it in and was called back the next day. Delivery took a bit of negotiation since most deliveries take place midday during the week, but there's a weekend option. And making changes to the standard 1-bedroom box order was painless. If you've never moved in SF, you might not realize how hard it is to find cardboard boxes when you need them. When I prepared for my first move in SF, my usual box finding trick of poking around the back of a liquor store yielded a lot of interesting things. Boxes, however, were definitely not one of them. I also scoured grocery stores, furniture stores, basically anywhere you might find an empty box, but with no luck. Where had all the boxes gone? My theory is that there's a conspiracy involving a large national moving chain (hint: their name rhymes with "U-maul") sending scouts out in broken down pickup trucks at night to sweep up all the discarded cardboard in this city. Then, with the "supply" side of supply and demand economics cornered, they can charge through the nose for their boxes. Luckily we have one brave man fighting against this shadowy cardboard cartel, and his name is Warren. I've used Warren for two different moves now, and both times the service was stellar and I ended up with way more boxes than I could use (one of the best problems you can have when moving) for a price that can't be beat. I got everything I paid for in the studio/1BR pack (50 boxes for $70), 20 book-sized boxes for $20, plus a number of "freebies" for meeting him just off 580 in Richmond as he was returning from a big pickup. He threw in some free tape, marking pens, and smaller boxes, as well as a few big ones whose flaps were imperfect - a few tears that needed mending but did not affect the integrity of the box strength. Realizing we had one week to pack before the movers came, a quick search brought us to all of these glowing reviews on Yelp for Bay Area Box Express. Without time to think twice, we shot Warren an email and got a response on Christmas Eve. We were so impressed with the ease and simplicity of doing business with Warren. He met us in the middle of the afternoon on Christmas Eve! His pick-up site is in San Rafael and easy to get to. We met him at his site and quickly had the truck filled with boxes that are of great quality, as well as all of the other accoutrements like tape, paper and foam. The majority of the boxes he gave us are brand new and the various sizes are perfect. Warren is calm and professional - a great person to do business with. I'll recommend him to anyone I know is moving. Tip: Warren allocates what I believe to be an adequate quantity of boxes within his packages. They're misfiled on Yelp - they aren't movers, they offer moving supplies. I called up thinking they were movers, as I my mover arrived short one man. Despite the miscategorization on Yelp, they offered all kinds of suggestions on where to get the extra labor on short notice, and what reasonable pricing would be. Most companies would have ended the call quickly when they saw they weren't getting business on that call. But these guys bent over backward to be helpful. I actually found his ad on Craigs List and then from there I took a look at his website. It wasn't until after I called and ordered that I even noticed he had all these reviews on Yelp. What great service. Very friendly... very helpful. Funny thing is, after I emailed him to confirm our conversation and price I was sooooo surprised to realize that he was/is the same Warren I worked with about 7 years ago at a different company. Warren is great! Everyone knows moving is a pain, but Warren was so helpful and accommodating that he took a little stress out of the moving process. I was so appreciative of his help. The supplies he had were perfect. Everyone says to get more boxes than you think you need, and Warren was very helpful in getting the accurate number of boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, and tape. Wow! If only all service was like what Warren provided, moving would be a snap! Warren delivered outstanding service! I had given Warren the measurements of some rather large pieces of art. He took the time to figure out what types of boxes I needed for each art piece, showed me how to put the art boxes together, and threw in 5 additional boxes at no charge. Warren made sure that the art boxes would fit each piece of art. I bought other boxes and boxing materials at the incredibly, reasonable advertised price. Since I met Warren in Burlingame, I arrived 10 minutes early and happened to see a garage sale in progress. I decided to buy this shabby chic stained glass door. Would you believe that Warren helped my boyfriend to load the heavy door as well. I ended up with quality (like new) boxes, a shabby chic stained glass door, terrific service, and did I mention that Warren has this great PR dog who rides in his van. I just got my boxes from Bay Area Box Express! :D And it has just made my day! A couple of days ago, and with a very tight moving agenda, my husband e-mailed them and got the quickest of responses. We set a delivery date and time, and we couldn't be happier with the service provided by Warren, he was here on time and exactly as scheduled! We live in Soma, San Francisco, in a big building in a pretty busy area. He parked right outside and took all of the supplies to my apartment by himself in less than 15 minutes! I only just held doors open for him, that's it. His cute little dog helped guarding his van. :) He asked me if we had any sealing tape and when I told him we didn't have enough, he gave me two sealing tape rolls and a tape dispenser for free!
