I just came in there to get balloons for my daughters first birthday today and margarita the manager was very rude and not helpful . She would not help us with balloons we wanted and told us to get them ourselves . I am a manager myself and I understand times get stressful but this was just very un professional of her . The dollar tree in big bear has the worst service out of all dollar trees I have been to. And when my sister asked for her help she said it's customers jobs to do it themselves not hers. read more

This is one of the best dollar tree I've been to. They have better items and it's much more organized compared to a few locations I've shopped at. Good location that's close to the ski resorts and cabins/air bnb. They have good items such as brand names for hand sanitizer and antibacterial hand wipes (Germ X), antibacterial foam soap and other hit or miss items. Assured brand: pocket size hand sanitizer that comes in a pack of 2, hand wipes in a pack of 20, individual hand wipes in a box of 20, a set of 3 that has a 10 wipes in each. I don't know maybe it's just me find cheap stuff is terrible you end up getting what you pay for in most of the time the stuff is crap anyways so it was never worth buying in the first place. The Dollar Tree, what do I say about the Dollar Tree well everything is a dollar so that's a plus I guess if you're looking the shop for everything being a dollar... I guess you get cups or cards knick-knacks little play toy stuff for summer squirt guns all sorts of random fun kid stuff obviously there's no groceries. I did notice that you could get some water bottles but I'm not sure how good the water is. We stop by this place because the girlfriend had to go into Vons and I decided that I check it out not sure to come back in here because there's nothing for me but I figured I'd write a review about it and let you guys know what I thought. read more

I do enjoy shopping at Dollar Tree since it is not busy like 99 only. The only issue I really have with any Dollar Tree, including this one, is lack of selection. 99 only really has them beat by a mile when it comes to selection. read more

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. I was having a perfectly good day. I paid for my purchase, did not buy a bag so I placed items in a basket & was waiting outside the store for a ride to come & put my stuff in the car. Janetta asked why I was leaving without paying. I told her I paid & she asked me if I paid for the BASKET!!!! She was accusing me of stealing a BASKET. In 45 years of life, I have NEVER had ANY store accuse me of stealing a cart or a basket. EVERY store has ALWAYS allowed customers to unload groceries & leave the basket or cart there. I spoke to a manager & she TOTALLY took Janetta's side. I got my money back & manager said "Sorry you are having a bad day." I said "I was having a good day until now." She sarcastically told me she was sorry. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. I tend to find people in a small town like Big Bear to be friendlier then retail workers in big cities. Sure there is lots of stuff here that I consider to be junk. But I always find a few "treasures" to buy when I shop here. You sure can't beat the price. read more

I was shopping in this store for the past few years multiple times a week. On the 17th of August I watched as a customer in front of me was allowed to shop and purchase with no mask with nothing said. I loaded my items to pay for them, the next guy put his stuff while mine was still being checked and it piled up with mine. He then walked inches from me while I was bagging my items. I stated " Sir, do you mind stepping back a few feet" The clerk did nothing. He stated to me that I was very rude. I again stated "will you please step back from me". He became enraged and started yelling at me how rude I am and how he was going to assault me. Nothing was said and no-one came to my assistance. I stated to him he was overly upset and may have some mental health issues. He lunged at me to hit me multiple times. Again, no one came to my assistance. He was yelling profanities and flipping me off when a store clerk kicked me out of the store. A felony assault took place and their reaction was to kick me out. I have noticed clerks stocking shelves with no masks. Clerks wearing their masks under their noses. They don't even clean the carts. I am never going back read more

This place is great for.birthday parties for kids.......just invite everyone to meet at dollar tree give the kids a.shopping basket and let them pick a bunch of.stuff.......the kids have fun .....they do.get a bunch of one.use toys but at least you did not have to.choke down some horrible pizza like chucky cheese...and another bonus the kids are in a hurry to get home to play with all there cheap toys........on a side note.....the shaving cream for $1 (get at least 20) is awesome to take with you next time you go shooting in the woods..........they blow up nicely read more

Considering how in the middle-of-nowhere this city is, and gas for trucks must be a lot to get up to this mountain city, I was really surprised to find a Dollar Tree, the same as any other Dollar Tree, even with a refrigerated section. If you're poor like I am, I'd definitely do your shopping here, and then can get whatever else you need at the Vons next door. read more

Best dollar store I have been in. Especially for holiday items. Picked up some mercury like votives in different styles from Better Homes and Garden. They look like something from Pottery Barn! Four different styles in both in silver and light golden tone. Then needed raffia for some items at the cabin and $1 store had it. They also had cute pumpkin chinese lanterns-battery operated. Need some balloons for an anniversary...and $1 store had them. So many cute things! read more

Been shopping here for years and with them being located right next to Vons makes it a plus. Staffing could be better during the winter when they get really busy up here, but I understand that these places don't pull down the big bucks other stores do. That being said I've always found the staff to be friendly and selection of items good for such a small location. read more

As locals we stop by Dollar Tree at LEAST once a week- it's convenient, pretty well organized/clean and easy shopping. You can find lots of good food and snacks as well as useful items for the cabin or your stay. If you've never shopped here first try ONE of things you never tried then go back for more after you know it's GOOD, particularly food! We like to read WHERE the food is made and go mostly for the items from USA and even some cool imported specialty items that would cost 3 or 5 times more elsewhere. Incredible hot sauce selection with some all time favorites and large bottles too. Great candy selection, spices, bottled water/drinks, kitchen/storage/cleaning/household/office items, candles, pet supplies/toys, party/craft supplies and decorations. Even the batteries, toothbrushes/paste and light bulbs are decent. Seasonal items including hats, gloves, candy and decorations. We just picked up great Halloween and Christmas things- some items are unique. Sure there's stuff to steer clear of and some junk not even worth a 1/2 dollar but overall a great variety of items you'd pay way more than a dollar for elsewhere. This store is a hidden gem in a resort mountain town where most things are marked way up. Everything is really a DOLLAR so it's brainless shopping once you know where to find everything and no price checking or questions about pricing etc. Most of the employees are cheerful and eager to help and have positive attitudes. They always ask if you found everything okay and how you are doing and spark casual conversations sometimes- pleasant experience. It can be entertaining as far as PEOPLE watching goes because you don't have to get dressed up or do you hair to do the Dollar Tree. It's always nice to change out of P.J.'s and comb your hair when going in public but elastic wasted flannel P.J.'s, ski caps and slippers are a style I guess. So a few walmartians get lost in the Dollar Tree and lines can get long but do move fast so if that's the worse part of the shopping experience it's not too bad for all the $$ you'll save! Don't know anywhere else in Big Bear you can shop and fill the cart for about $30.-40. If you discover the NOT peak times to shop you can hear a pin drop and have every isle to yourself and get in and out real quick. Like another reviewer said- stop at the Dollar Tree first than go to the market! read more
