For years I've often found myself stopping by this local hardware store when some household item at our cabin is in need of repair or replenishing, and most of the time they have what I'm looking for. In the few instances when a certain item is out of stock, it's usually available on my next visit. (I'm up here every couple of weeks.) I've always found the post's personnel pleasant and competent, quickly directing me to the aisle of an item I can't locate (if not actually personally walking me over to its whereabouts). Additionally, in some cases, they will also let me know if they are running low on an item that I may be needing more than one of since the current inventory is limited to what's out on the shelf. This was the case with some fly traps I came in for on my most recent visit. (I guess flies are a problem in the general area at present). Prices are competitive and I can often find multiple choices at different price points. The only thing in recent memory that I couldn't find there was an Adventure Pass for parking along the forest's roadsides or trailheads - but several of the other local businesses that used to carry them also no longer do, as well. Don't neglect visiting here first if in need of a certain piece of hardware. The store is not as big as the major chains by any means, but there's a good chance you'll find what you need without going down the mountain. We shop here constantly when we need basic hardware items and rarely have they not had just what we needed. I always need to ask where I can find items because they are packed to the gills with merch and it's also fun to talk to the guys that work there. We have a hand carved wood bear that has started to dry out as the shellac coating has been fading with the elements, and this weekend the sales guy was able to help me find some wood stain and clear coat with UV light protection. With a little effort on my part, our bear looks good for a couple years now! read more

We stopped in because one of the cabins tiles shattered. Natalie and I ran in to grab especial glue and this adorable dog had to kiss her. Natalie V Bock passed away last weekend due to Brain cancer. I moved to Lake Arrowhead two years ago, and have been to the Trading Post several times with personal questions. I am a "Do-it-Yourselfer", having learned from my parents in the 50's that most home repairs can be done from home! This Cedar Glen Company has always recommended the best solutions, including referrals, when limited to its relatively small inventory. I have had numerous projects with which I have been given fabulous and successful advice, including direct help for a reasonable price. Great and friendly service. They have a good selection for a small store and their price are reasonable and fair.

As convenient and well-stocked as this place is, the older man with curly white hair behind the front counter is a rude, cranky jerk who's made me want to shop at Ace Hardware 20 minutes away from now on. To start, this man cannot hear well, so if you speak too "quietly" to him, he'll yell at you to speak louder (which means having to awkwardly yell back at him). On top of that, he'll openly express scorn towards you if you do anything "wrong". I brought a couple bags of road salt to the counter to pay for them, only to be met with him *yelling* at me not to put them on the counter, rather than politely asking me to do so. I felt a bit shaken and incidentally dropped my credit card, so he yelled out to me that I dropped my card... When I pick it up, he shakes his head at me in dismay... Moreover, he's grimaced at me before for not knowing where an item is and asking for his assistance... wtf?? Why would he make a loyal customer feel bad for something as trivial as that? The things other reviewers here say about him don't surprise me at all. read more

Both men working were very friendly and helpful so I have to wonder about the people posting 1 star reviews, honestly... lol. I had the absolute worst experience and treatment from the man working behind the counter (7/25/22 9:50am). Where to begin, first the employee made outwardly racist comments to the gentleman in front of me who was not a native English speaker. After Rudely giving this customer commands and badgering him that other people were in front of him (with clearly no one in front of him) he said, "never mind you can't understand me, it's like talking to the dead." It was then my turn, I had two bolts and a washer. I needed some assistance because I lost a wing nut in the lake and was hoping for guidance on sizing. The man told me that I irritated him because I was going off memory and made a snide remark that I'd be back and provided zero help with size recommendations even though I showed a picture and had half of the item i needed to repair. He then asked me how mush the items cost that I was trying to purchase. He asked me, the customer... how am I supposed to know, I didn't memorize the price listed and was more focused on getting tools that were the correct size. So rude, racist, and sexist. We got a sinkhole in one of the walkways behind our cabin and needed small bags of cement to begin to fill it in. I also needed some rubber tips for my harp stool. Found both, along with a sales clerk about my age who was very accommodating and opened a package of tips to make sure they'd fit, then put them on all the stool's legs. I also got to pet the sweetest dog who just happened to be greeting customers, wearing a red sweater no less. There's a couple men working here who are extremely rude. I've been avoiding this place at all costs and traveling to Crestline's Ace hardware. From time to time in the middle of a project I will go buy the smallest item I can possibly buy there. Last time I was there a couple weeks ago one of the man followed a customer to his car and began a screaming match with him, even after the customer was inside his vehicle he would stand at his window screaming back and forth at him. The customer about came out of the car and took care of business. I've never seen anything like it. These guys are something else. read more

Great hardware store- Reminds of a mom and pop store. This place is small and rustic but they pack a punch with most every small repair supplies. The customer service is excellent with very helpful people. The also sell fishing supplies and they will guide you to the right direction to fish... remember you need to be a resident to fish at Lake Arrowhead but you can fish the stream to Aztec Falls not to far from there. read more

My wife had a bad experience when she walked in there about a year ago. As I waited for her in the parking lot outside, she later told me that she had asked a question to a male employee who began belittling her in front of other customers making her feel like an idiot. These guys do not follow COVID guidelines AT ALL. I don't know why the other review said they did. I went in for only one thing (thank god) before Christmas and rushed right out. I have a child with a pre-existing condition. I guess they don't care about that kind of thing. Masks not on their faces, just hanging off one ear (as some sort of half-assed nod to doing at all??) or under their noses, or not even bothering to wear them. And they don't keep their distance, even when maskless. Also, these are not young men. They all look and sound like they'll be in real trouble if they get it. I wish they would take it more seriously and care about their own, and other people's, well-being. They clearly do not. I won't be back. read more

The hardware store. Look for the Jack-a-lope when you stop by. This place has a great selection of tools, materials, and assorted hardware. They also have carry ammo, hunting equipment, and even fishing tackle. Cedar Glen is a great place to go for the day if you need to get lunch (Cedar Glen Inn or Malt Shoppe), need to do some antique shopping, hit the mini mart, and, of course, get some materials for a project or to fix something at the Hardware store. Parking is a bit lacking, so I recommend parking out front of the post office. Its also safer to leave from down there (Hook Creek Rd has a lot of blind turns and teenage drivers). read more

Amazing store. Cedar Glen Trading Post & Hardware store is literally sometime that got stuck in a timewarp. The store is super small but have almost every piece of hardware you can ask for. along with a ton of stuff you never knew you wanted, until you found it here. Staff is super knowledgeable, however operate at a speed that would get the fired in a heartbeat from HomeDepot.. however thats exactly what is so awesome.. this is not HomeDepot, but something much better. Don't visit Lake Arrowhead without spending $5 here. Guys.. they don't take Apple pay. there are no sea-weed snacks. just 1920 style hardware store.. enjoy. read more

Although I have moved from the area, I was a frequent customer for many years. For me, my visits were a social event and a little bit of helpful repair advice. Tom and the guys recognized my incompetence as a "challenged home repair person" and treated me with tolerance and good humor in spite of my handicap. The moment one walks in the store one gets the feeling of a small town friendly environment. No matter how black my mood after almost electrocuting myself, almost losing a finger or hand or putting a new device in sideways or upside down, the guys always found creative excuses for my failures and solved my problem.
