This is super close to home, so I shop here. I do not shop here for the customer service, just for the prices. Most employees are lukewarm, but last year, there was one who was flat-out rude to me. She is a native, and I am not so maybe that's why? Maybe not? Anyway, I just avoid going into her line. I am willing to put up with low customer service in exchange for a particular combo of cosmetic items I use that make my skin glow. I also buy certain craft items and ice cream bars for the kids. Can't beat the prices. Read my one-star review of a different Lynnwood Dollar Tree. I recommend avoiding that one until they fire the manager there. This was a new experience for me. I am not used to going to Dollar Tree and seeing prices go up to $5. Most of the shelves were stocked. Some of the aisles were almost blocked with boxes as they stocked shelves. This does seem to be a busier store. They had three cashiers working at the same time. They used to have nice checkers here, but in the past maybe four months when I go here I seem to walk out with a new rear end hole. I got yelled at for not having my bags at the end of the check-stand where the items are placed after being rang up. Two times the checker stopped the line of twenty people to glare at me for five seconds, then kept calling me mam in a condescending tone. The first time she stopped was because I suggested she could just place my items in the laundry baskets I was purchasing. The second time she stopped was because I was trying to leave space for the laundry baskets at the end of being scanned, so we could place the items into them easily. It actually got to a point where I asked what was wrong with her. It was like the Seinfeld Soup Nazi episode. The next lady in line stepped up and followed the orders of the checker with a look of fear. I finally was able to explain I was just trying to be helpful, and she lightened up a wee bit. But that was the worst experience of my life. I think the manager is not treating people well enough here. My favorite checker transferred to another store, she said because the manager didn't like her. I overhead a supervisor on the phone a few weeks prior saying she was not an electrician, and that she needed help down at the store. There was an employee standing next to her agreeing with her phone conversation. I think the checkers and some employees here are hating life. Something should be done about this place. I have been a manager in the past and you only get wonderful team playing when you treat your employees as a wonderful team. Press and hold to react. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. When we first entered the store an employee had their pants unzipped and down and was complaining about something "down there" itching. (We later found out her name is Tracy). She was showing "it" to a coworker. Not only was this unprofessional and HIGHLY inappropriate to see as an adult but seeing as there were also minors in the store it was BAFFLING! I tried to avoid having her as a cashier because of seeing this, but seeing as there were only a few employees in the store it wasn't possible. When I checked out, she asked me to unload my hand cart (no big deal) and I did. After I had unloaded it, she said thank you and turned away. Before I could respond she very rudely said "THANK YOU!" Louder and with a lot more attitude and rolled her eyes. At that point it was very tempting to leave the store and not purchase anything because it was just not worth being treated so poorly and seeing her unprofessional behavior and attitude. However, I desperately needed what I was purchasing. The rest of the encounter wasn't anymore pleasant, needless to say I will not be returning. read more

Horrible! They don't even have a public restroom and the heavy set guy started practically yelling at me. There was a long line, I was going to ask for the bathroom key but I didn't want to wait in line so I kindly said past a few people "Could I please get the bathroom key?" the guy working responds, "HOLD ON A MINUTE" then says, "WHAT DO YOU WANT?" So I said "the bathroom key" and he says "THERES NO PUBLIC BATHROOM HERE YOYRE GOING TO HAVE TO GO ACROSS THE STREET" So I just walked away as he was talking because he was rude. No name tag, of course. I walked out. Get friendlier staff. read more

The store is usually gross inside. There is stuff all over the floor and it looks dirty. Things are falling apart need to be fixed. They are getting three stars for two things. First, their customer service is great. The people that work here are very nice and helpful. Also, they usually have things well stocked. I can come here for multiple things on a regular basis and they will be there. It's nice that it is reliable. The parking lot is large and there currently are a lot of empty businesses next door so there is always parking available. read more

The lady associate was Tracey (as it shows on the receipt, and she was Caucasian) and when she started to help the Caucasian lady in front of me, she warmly greeted her and assisted her and when she finished, she was like, "Have a good one, darling".  Now I am Asian and I was born and raised in Southern California, and I absolutely HATE people complaining about someone being racist and playing the racist card.  But this is the first time I felt blatant racism and I felt so shocked.  Now, when it was my turn, she didn't even look at me and started to bag my stuff.  I had a pink bag I was holding, had she looked at me, she would have noticed I brought my own bag.  So she started to put my items in a plastic bag and I said to her, "I brought my own bag" and she looked at me and yelled, "THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY ANYTHING??"  At this point, I've never had anyone yell at me, with me being a customer.  I just looked at her in shock and in a few seconds, I said, "Usually they ask first." And then she made a nasty face and mimiced what I said in a childish voice and that's when I was SO EXTREMELY SHOCKED that I didn't feel the need or wanted to react to this woman's nastiness.  Then in a while she said, "well I forgot to ask you" with a shrug and continued to finish ringing me up and handed me my receipt.  I took it without saying anything, and she too didn't say anything like a thank you, have a nice day and just let me walk out without acknowledging me.  But the more I thought about it, the more I saw how she was so racist and mean and just acted totally vicious to me without ANY REASON and she embarrassed me in front of other customers and there was a huge line behind me because she was the only associate.   I felt like I was treated horribly because of my race and that the associate had a problem with my race. read more

This use to be a well loved Bartel store for many years and the fact that a clean well maintained store is now dirty and unkept is sad. They also have a very rude and unqualified associate that should not be any where near a customer service job. If they can't fire her at least they should give her some training on how to treat other people including customers. She obviously has no kindness and consideration for others. She's absolutely the worse person for this job. I believe her name is Tracy. I know all about customer service because I have worked and trained others in this field for most of my life. I have also been a manager and if I had a store that was this dirty I would be getting my workers up and moving to clean up and keep it clean. When you see this attitude in workers it's because they are lazy and not doing their job. It also shows a manager that is lazy and takes no pride in the company they work for or the store they manage. The first thing I would do is fire this bad associate. The manager would not be far behind. Good customer service skills can be learned but someone who has no people skills is racist and pulls their pants down on the store floor is not acceptable for any customer service position. Get it together DOLLAR STORE! Fix your poor management issues and make sure your store hires qualified well mannered and skilled personnel! What is going on with this store? Closed all day, 10/28. Not a worker in sight. People were outside banging on doors, light were on and no one was around. I realize that workers are in demand, but this was very strange. Sign says open at 8am, when I have been here it's always around 9am that they open. The sign should be changed to reflect the 9am time opening. Hope this dollar tree isn't closing. read more

I just stopped by this location to get some ice cream and was 08:50pm which i still had 10 minutes. so this lady with short hair just shut the door on my face and said we are closed . couldn't say or do anything beasides just waljinh away. I mean, I understand for a lot o great reasons they could close earlier but you could at least be nice? and be like "hey im so sorry we are understaff or something and we had to close 10 minutes early" but no let me just shut the door on your face and say we are closed if I want to close 10 minutes early. I was just trying to buy juice for my nephew the stores close in 10 minutes and they wouldn't let me come inside because you're trying to go home early that's not my problem you have a job I will never come to the dollar tree again and trust me the stores a piece of shit. just close down read more

I love going to the Dollar Tree, it brings childhood nostalgia and immense joy. The $1 foil balloons are worth it, as opposed to going to any other ol' grocery store that sells them for a whopping $3-$5. However, today's visit was a bizarre, utter disappointment... and so my story begins: I walked to the balloon corner and see an associate nearby, working on stock. I asked her if she could help me with the balloons. She said yes. I needed 10 (wanted her to know the quantity beforehand, in case it was a task better suited for someone else). I tried my best to pick balloons in order, so that she wouldn't have to jump around drawer to drawer so much. Something about her just seemed off. I accidentally picked a "Welcome Back" balloon when I needed birthday theme balloons for boys. She clarified that, which was great on her part. However, I awkwardly laughed and decided to keep it because I didn't want to be difficult and make her put back the balloon -so no complaints at this point. While inflating the balloons, she asked, "Do you have any other shopping to do?" Me: "Oh no, I'll just wait here" Her: "Ok, because it's kinda bothering me that you're just standing there but..." WHOA! I'm just waiting there so that I can get my balloons, pay, and GTFO. She was bothered by the fact that I was standing there waiting?! Correct, at times, I was watching her inflate the balloons. Would it have been better if I walked around and make her wait impatiently when she's done? As a paying customer that prioritizes quality assurance, who wouldn't stand there to watch? To clarify, I wasn't even staring at her creepily. If anything, I was mesmerized by the balloons coming to life and the awesomeness of helium! For the remaining percentage of my time waiting, I was glued to my iPhone as the GEN Y sheep that I am! How bow da?! So therefore, what gave her the idea that I was creeping on her?! This associate could not finish the task, so it was delegated to another associate who was a million times nicer. That gentleman knows customer service. The cherry on top: as I was paying for the balloons, the rude associate kept talking out loud to her coworker about a previous customer that got a pregnancy test. Maybe it was about a suspected theft... regardless of the situation, shouldn't that be dealt privately for the respect of customers?! I'm never going to this store again, ever! I would rather drive to a farther location and waste gas then to be treated this way. I've worked in retail before, but I know this associate doesn't even need to learn customer service -just learn to be respectful from one human being to another. read more

I went in to buy some things, I just got a new food stamps card. First time ever using it and the elderly lady working there had already had some attitude with the person prior to me because her English wasn't as fluent. She then proceeded to talk about her to us saying she didn't know why she was still standing there and what she was waiting for. Being new at the EBT thing, it only covered $2.50 and I owed $9 and some change. She got very upset at me that I didn't have the rest and continued to argue with me after saying I didn't have the rest and to just void the other things. She called the manager which was extremely nice to me, she was explaining the process with the ebt thing. As for the elderly lady, you made me feel VERY embarrassed and uncomfortable especially announcing to everyone behind me the whole situation. Being Hispanic myself I can't even imagine how you treat other people of color yes of color because that's what her issues seemed like. I get customer service is very difficult and tiring at times but please hire people who treat others like human beings. read more

My friend and I went in to shop today and when we were checking out the guy told us we cld go to the next register. As we were the next ppl in line and someone else jumped in line she chose to stay in line and said to ME "no I'm gonna stay right here he can help me". The guy apparently thought she was talking g to him and said"you could be a little nicer and I'm closing my register"! My friend d said "I wasnt speak g to you and YOU are out of line and being rude to me! This resulted in an exchange of insults between the two of them the employee was very rude and my friend asked who the manager was and he said VERY SNOTTY "UM that would be me sweetheart" She said she was gonna report him to corporate and he said "yea honey you go right ahead" and proceeded to THROW HER CHANGE AT HER ON THE COUNTER!!!!! I told her to be quiet and let's leave we cld call corporate tomorrow. I was APALLED at the behaviour and argumentative nature of the "manager". Needless to say, we will be speaking to the corporate offices tomorrow regarding g this incident..Shame on him! read more

If you want long lines & argumentative management staff, then this is your store! "Savannah" (management) especially. I will avoid this store at all costs. Waiting in line, 15 deep, and no 2nd checker called. Only to have the next person come out & grab the closest person, not even waiting in line.
