Really surprised by the 4.5/5 star average on here. I stopped by here today because I wanted to see…read moreif they had some Halloween cards. I normally go the Dollar Tree in Troy (in the Walmart plaza) but I was on my way to Panera to pick up curbside, and this was the only dollar store in that area. It had kind of an old/funky smell inside. I saw they had cards through the window, so that was encouraging, but their Halloween selection is pretty limited; they maybe had like 10 different card designs to choose from, but 7-8 of those were for little kids (grandkids, children, etc). I ended up buying five for family and friends, and good thing I did because they have a $5 minimum limit for credit cards. The final reason I'm giving them 3 stars: the cashier was not wearing a mask. The man next to him beside the counter was, FWIW. He had a very thin layer of plastic sheeting between me and him, so I'm guessing that's why he thought it was fine ... however, I'm "high risk," so I definitely wiped off my credit card with a wipe when I got back to my car. I wouldn't stop by here again, I will just go to Dollar Tree next time. But they do have a lot of cards (non-Halloween ones) if you need them.

Review #546 - Updated from past 6/24/2017 Review....4 Stars to 5…read more April 30, 2026 - Thursday I recently shopped here after striking out at a nearby other home store - At Home. I was happy to purchase a beautiful Yellow Forsythia Artificial Wreath for My Front Double Doors and 2 sets of colored Tulips for an artificial floral arrangement at this Ollie's Bargain Outlet. I also purchased Serta Soft Cool and Warm material Bed sheets throughout my browsing and price checking with comparison. Yes, this location maybe disorganized at times or messy areas of towels or other sale items but shoppers can be the reason because every time I shop here for a sale item or check on an ad item, the staff here are working the best they can and hard at times unpacking boxes to stocking shelves. I've been greeted with a Hello at times which is courtesy of them in between their busy work schedule. If busy at check out and a long line begins, another pleasant employee will open up another register. Seasonal merchandise is always plenty especially My last visit in February the store was ready stocked with Easter and Spring items which I posted photos of from the main center areas. Sign up to collect rewards for your purchases and of course Emails will be sent with their weekly Sale Flyer ! www Ollie's us Download their App for quick reference too! "Get & Buy Good Stuff Cheap" from 25% up to 70% off manufacturer prices Cookware, Bedding, Bath, Lawn & Garden & POOL Supplies and Summer Toys are Now Sold Here! Music is still be played to help your steps in shopping as years ago. I enjoy the Herr's Snacks, Moose Munch Popcorn, plus a certain Cereal Brand - SpecialK, Coffee K-Cups and Other Grab and Go items but Watch The Expiration Dates. I've never had a problem but just in case grab an item from the back or if up front check the date. The "Library" area lol is still great for Readers with Shelves of Books labeled with different signs for the different readers. Currently their Summer Ad is out with Window Air Conditioners, and Portable on Wheels too to get ready for the Heat of Michigan. Those would be good for College dorms or residents without A/C. I also noticed in their New Flyer for the month of May, they are selling a brand of different tools called Hart. How about a front or patio door Coir Mat? Its now at Ollie's in the Outdoor Patio Section. There was stock for most anything you are looking for. Unlike some bargain stores, I did not have to push dropped or sloppy set up of items aside so I can maneuver mom in her wheelchair; the floor was free of trash or misplaced items...yay! They have excellent bargains for office products, decorations, food, laundry, etc. I like that they had Poastems as an alternative to Toastems as Poestems have way more filling inside. Unfortunately they did not have any unfrosted Poastems so I did not buy any...that hard, overly sweet, sugar frosting is disgusting to me. We will return.

Took them home and charged and installed them exactly according to the instructions. They worked for 10 minutes and completely stopped working. They did this several times. Took them back to Dollar Tree the very next day with the box, receipt and all enclosed paperwork. The manager would not refund my money or exchange them for other items of equal value. Then she got rude and nasty and refused to give me the name and phone number to the real store manager so I could call him the next day.

When things are running smoothly, you can find some good deals. That said, I'm increasingly disappointed with a few things. During promotions, the store is clearly understaffed, and the lines become excessively long for everyone. It turns what should be a fun, bargain-hunting trip into a frustrating experience. I was also told by a staff member that they are instructed to look up every item online before pricing it and putting it on the floor. That approach might make sense from a business standpoint, but it takes away from the feeling that you're getting a fair "thrift store" deal and can really slow down the process of getting items out for customers. What bothers me most, though, is learning that this is a for-profit-only company that doesn't appear to represent any cause or give back to the community. There are donation bins in front of the store, but there's no clear indication that those donations go to a good cause or help people in need. In contrast, many other resale and thrift stores are transparent about supporting local charities, community programs, or people in need. It's disappointing that Value World doesn't seem to do the same, especially when they rely on donations and present themselves in a way that can easily be mistaken for a charitable thrift store.

My #401 Review on June 30, 2022…read more History: Ollie's Bargain Outlet store opened it's first store in 1982 in Pennsylvania and has grown to 315 stores in 23 states. First off this is my opinion from shopping with my Mom a few times in the year 2018 and once in February 2019 before she passed. She certainly enjoyed the variety of items here plus our one hour monthly shopping spree together! On Wednesday, June 29 I met my sister here for the Customer Appreciation month of June plus the celebration of 40 years for Ollie's. I will admit this location in Roseville, has more variety of merchandise from books, clothing, grocery, seasonal, pet supplies, laundry, cleaning, coffee, tea, snacks, toys, shoes, bedding, towels, kitchen gadgets, tools, school supplies, greeting cards, canned goods, Summer items, Garden and Lawn items, Pots and pans, shampoo, makeup, that I saw while pushing the basket and viewing everything. She was the heavy shopper compared to my 5 items. She lives 4 miles away so her comment is "Every week the truck delivers different items, so a customer must stop here weekly and check this store if you are curious or comparing prices from the other popular local stores. I was amazed with the high inventory on shelves in the different departments and end isles that I shopped at. The center areas are stacked as well with season items which currently is Summer. Photos attached as well to assist with my review. Note: I always check the brands here in comparison plus where from along with expiration dates and of course the prices before making a purchase. Ya never know! The upbeat music in here was a bit to loud so a shopper can either enjoy and dance to it lol or be distracted with it while shopping. It was pretty busy with shoppers due to the Special day of 15% off with coupon. There were plenty of shoppers and their baskets going around well with the flow so no basket accidents or incidents that I saw. When it came time to check out my one slight complaint was only two cashiers were working therefore my time to pay was 10 minutes. In closing, Congratulations Ollie's on your merchandise milestone! May this location keep up with the good bargains, pricing, variety of merchandise and continue with their slogan "Good Stuff Cheap!"

I understand the bins are probably old, but everything is old and yellowing which makes everything look a bit unsanitary. Some scoops were inside the buckets, touching the food. So the hand germs from the scoop is now in the food, and someone needs to reach in and touch the food in order to retrieve it. Which I saw a customer do. The directions are also unclear, you need to write down all the product codes instead of the large number on the information sheets, which is the price/lb. We did get small portions of 2 types of candy, both which were stale. It was also $6, which is cheap, but I can get x5 the amount of candy at the dollar store or drugstore for that price.
