My #401 Review on June 30, 2022 History: Ollie's Bargain Outlet store opened it's first store in 1982 in Pennsylvania and has grown to 315 stores in 23 states. First off this is my opinion from shopping with my Mom a few times in the year 2018 and once in February 2019 before she passed. She certainly enjoyed the variety of items here plus our one hour monthly shopping spree together! On Wednesday, June 29 I met my sister here for the Customer Appreciation month of June plus the celebration of 40 years for Ollie's. I will admit this location in Roseville, has more variety of merchandise from books, clothing, grocery, seasonal, pet supplies, laundry, cleaning, coffee, tea, snacks, toys, shoes, bedding, towels, kitchen gadgets, tools, school supplies, greeting cards, canned goods, Summer items, Garden and Lawn items, Pots and pans, shampoo, makeup, that I saw while pushing the basket and viewing everything. She was the heavy shopper compared to my 5 items. She lives 4 miles away so her comment is "Every week the truck delivers different items, so a customer must stop here weekly and check this store if you are curious or comparing prices from the other popular local stores. I was amazed with the high inventory on shelves in the different departments and end isles that I shopped at. The center areas are stacked as well with season items which currently is Summer. Photos attached as well to assist with my review. Note: I always check the brands here in comparison plus where from along with expiration dates and of course the prices before making a purchase. Ya never know! The upbeat music in here was a bit to loud so a shopper can either enjoy and dance to it lol or be distracted with it while shopping. It was pretty busy with shoppers due to the Special day of 15% off with coupon. There were plenty of shoppers and their baskets going around well with the flow so no basket accidents or incidents that I saw. When it came time to check out my one slight complaint was only two cashiers were working therefore my time to pay was 10 minutes. In closing, Congratulations Ollie's on your merchandise milestone! We were able to load up on many household items like dishwasher pods, laundry detergent, personal care products, and some food items too. We DID do price comparisons to see if we were really getting a deal or not, and in every case we were. They also have a huge book section, toys, outdoor items, and even household goods such as area rugs, lamps, decorations, etc. The girl who cashed us out was nice enough too. My husband said that this location is nicer than the one in Utica. read more

I have visited this store in a few occasions, but I don't look forward to going there anymore. It used to be neat and orderly, but they don't seem to have enough employees to keep it organized and run the check-out lanes, too. After finding an item or two for purchase, I stood in line for over 20 minutes to complete my transaction. There were only two cash registers open and most of the customers were bored as they stood in line. I watched as people entered the store, saw the check-out line, immediately turned around and left. They have some bargains worth buying, but I can usually find better quality and much better service at other stores nearby. read more

This is a sizable store that you could spend some time shopping in. I had a cart with about $100 of merchandise in when I decided I needed to use the bathroom. I followed the posted signs leading the way to the bathroom. There were no men's or women's signs but there were locked doors. Thinking someone was in them, we waited. I finally saw an employee and I asked if maybe you need to get a key? The worker informed me that they no longer have public restrooms. So we left. Ollie's will not be getting my business. Keep in mind that they had all the signs hung with the directions to the restrooms but nothing posted informing customers that they no longer provide restrooms. read more

My Aunt and I stopped here yesterday evening while in the area. We didn't have anything particular we needed to buy but this store seriously has everything. I was able to find hair cream I use daily that most stores have since discontinued. It's made by Pantene and Ollie's had it for $.99. It retails for over $5. I snagged several of them. Ollie's has food, cleaning products, toys, housewares, etc. They even have windshield wipers and seat covers. The store isn't the cleanest. A lot of stuff is picked thru and customers tend to just throw things where ever. Cashier was friendly. The store has something for everyone. Good place to get stocking stuffers and Christmas stuff. read more

I am so happy I discovered Ollie's Bargains. I have to admit I was not really looking to buy anything other than snack foods when I came in the store. I was met with a wall of all my favorite snack foods at reasonable prices wow ollie how could you do this to me. As you walk back in this cavernous space you discover you are actually in a huge Warehouse. Everything in the place is Mark down. You can probably find anything you need in here if you have good imagination and a long list. I can't believe they actually have the copper pans here and they also have a convection oven that will fit on my counter for less than $100. Oh my goodness look at this they've got top quality chocolates mark down 75% off. Oh wow look can goods condiments and is it really chips Galore you betcha this place has so much food I don't even see why I would need to go to a grocery store if I came here first LOL Ollie's Bargains is a place for those who love to shop and know how to find a bargain. We love this place. There is always something new to find in the aisles. I love the food assortment because there's always something different that you don't see everywhere else. I love the assortment of dog toys that they carry throughout the year. My dog also loves them. They have a great assortment of books also.They have great prices on everything. I went back to this Ollie's giving it the benefit of a doubt, it was even messier than before. Going back over a year it was ship shape, everything in its place. Not anymore. They have that hand sanitizer as soon as you get in the door, there were no baskets whatsoever. Then on check out there were two slow cashiers, they had only one line, I counted it was 12 people deep. If I go back, I hope they at least have baskets of any kind, I truly hope they can turn things around. It was the place to go a couple years back. read more

This store is extremely messy. I know that around the holidays that stores can get torn up but every single time I have gone to this store the store is torn up. There are products all over the place and in the wrong areas. Trying to find anything is a difficult task and it is very disorganized. Getting an employee to help you find something is just as painful. Previously when I have gone to this store they had buckets in the aisles because the roof was leaking. The bucket was only catching some of the water and the leak was also hitting a shelf with product on it, ruining the packaging of the product. It is a shame to see the store not very well taken care of considering the store really is not that old and I felt that it was a good edition to the area. At this rate, I take the extra drive to go to the Ollies in Sterling Heights because it's way cleaner and better organized. read more

Terrible place! Went to get a dog bed that was on sale yesterday. Was told, sorry that didn't come in stock for the sale it will be in tomorrow. Came back today and found the bed which is on sale for $20. Went to the register, where the girl was on her cell phone and it rang up $40. Told her it was on sale for $20, and she said that's not the right bed. I told her it was the only style of bed over there and was in the bin that said $20 and showed her the ad on my phone. She still said it rang up $40. So, all in all this place doesn't care about customers and she obviously didn't want to go check prices. read more

This place is amazing they have tons of well everything. Think of a big Lots but cheaper and the size of the Home Depot. They have books tons of toys not toys from last season toys from this season!!! and awesomely cheap!!! they have clothes t shirts for three bucks tons of books $1.00+ for hardcovers they have a great selection of Christmas decor and stuff to wrap your items in. And for the cherry on top they are open until 10 p.m. for the holidays. This is my new one stop shop for everything!!!! read more

So a few things about this store, you pretty much are paying for what you get. So if you're paying really cheap amounts, it's most likely that you're going to get a cheap product that ends up broken or not working properly. Some things that's I've bought there have already even been broken and I didn't notice until I get home. There's some things there that are actually worth buying for that amount of money and then other things it's kind of questionable. Sometimes the stores even dirty and the food is outdated. Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hello new and improved Big Lots. I could get lost in this store. Tons of great deals on everything! Got a $7 dry erase calendar with cork board and magnets! (The same one was $20 at Meijer) I was a little skeptical about all the cheap ass snacks but nothing was expired so I stocked up on granola bars and fish crackers! Purchased a huge supply of toilet paper for $8. They also have an infinite amount of Keurig K-cups for super cheap, just make sure they work for your machine. Some of mine didn't work in the 2.0. As a Director at a preschool I must say the office and school supply section is on point; cheap construction paper up the arse!Everyone there was super nice and helpful. The check out employees were super fast and friendly. I like the old school feel of the business that takes you back to "the customer is always right" type business. read more
