I have mixed feelings about this place. I like dollar stores. I am always one for a deal, but this store can be hot or miss. It is often overcrowded and in disarray. The parking situation can be a pain due to the other stores in the complex. However, it is close to where I live and I come in to grab gift bags, wrapping and other items that don't expire. Oh heck yeah! This place is so rad. I come here just to spend money. It's kind of awesome since everythang is a dolluhhh. Hell to the yeah! I'll buy things I dont even need just because I CAN. Yeah, I'm one of THOSE people. Anyways, to be serious, I really do like this place. I come here to get random household items (combs, brushes, cleaning supples) and their balloons. $1/balloon! The nice kind too! Not just the rubber ones. Es nice! And during Christmas? THIS PLACE IS THE PLACE TO GO FOR CHRISTMAS! OMG. Yeah, you're not going to find everything you want, but you'll find that you wont walk through the store without wanting to buy something. Also, I think the people working here are really nice. Always tidy, employees aren't very talkative but they seem to know the store layout very well. They seem to make sure that there shelves stay stocked (which is a 5 star trait ini my book). They have a great growing selection of top brands of frozen foods, canned goods, bread, cheese, meat and the BEST (I Thought) Candy Isle I've seen (same great candy, if not more and better selections of every kind). They also have party supplies, bathroom & kitchen supplies (everything you'll need in the bathroom or kitchen is here). For my first time it was Impressive. read more

I come here mainly to get their sponges (for dish washing). Where else can you get 6 of those puppies for a BUCK? NO WHERE!!! I go through them quick so I need to make sure I get my bangs for my buck....I don't really get anything else here except for the cat litter box liners. Oh My God! I have been in this store many times but went in today and COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES!! See the attached photos...the place looked like a bomb went off in it!! I asked the manager what happened and he said that it was busy and the mess had only happened in the past 15 minutes! That's not possible unless there was an earthquake! Who owns this store?? I like this store. It's a pretty big size and things seen to be more clean than other locations. Parking can stink depending on when you come. Lunch or dinner due to their popular restaurants nearby. One of my favorite locations. read more

This Dollar Store is located near Scrambalz off Almaden Expwy. Parking is lot is a good size and store is not that large. As the store name implies, all items are $1 (potato chips, gabage bags, wrapping paper, balloons, calendars, etc). The checkout lines do get long, hence the 3 star review. read more

1 cashier for the big store like this. I waited 30 minutes to pay for 2 items. Asked if there are any other cashiers and the reply was just be patient and stand in line. The manager is counting money. Cant the manager count later and open up a checkstand to avoid big line all the way to the back of the store? Will never go back to this location. 5041 Almaden Road location Not open... 10/11/16 and it's 8:20am. Website says hours are 8am-9pm! To make it worse, there has been an employee inside since 8:02 when I first arrived! I think he drives a white Toyota Pick up as it was the only car in the parking lot. They have lost 3 customers not counting me and I would have been a good sale! This specific location suffers from multiple problems. The shopping center has some of the worst parking. There are too many people fighting for spots to go to Yogurtland, Bogies, Scrambl'z, and Brit Arms. This becomes a major issue when you've just bought 10 balloons from the Dollar Tree and you have to walk far. Not fun. Now, I don't classify this area of San Jose are ghetto. Hell, I was born & raised in San Francisco. I know ghetto. But there's something about having a Dollar Tree and Wal-Mart mere meters apart. Lastly, they're just understaffed. The lines are often much too long to buy a few dollars worth of crap. The selection is okay, but sometimes they're out of what I'm looking for. If you drive 3 miles south on Almaden, there's a slightly better Dollar Tree. Parking is better and the physical location is larger. If you really want a much better Dollar Tree experience, then there's a new'ish one near the old Hometown Buffet. Good luck bargain hunters! read more

I like the dollar tree because it is really just a dollar for everything. That usually means cat litter for cheap and of course snacks. I used to work there as a cashier but then I quit because some asshole named mike who used to be the manager tried to sexually harass me along with 5 other girls. This is the closet dollar tree store to me. Even with the price of gas, I seldom go here if I am passing another dollar store. The hours have been cut back and they don't open now until 9am. That is because they don't make enough money. Why? VERY BADLY STOCKED STORE and unpleasant interior. The aisles are always full of boxes and crap. The cashier staff is the only bright spot. They try to do their best in an awful situation. Staff on the floor are horrible. They don't know where items are and they don't care. They seem to frequently change managers. This store is a disaster and needs a total overhaul. read more

So disappointed! I never thought that I would leave negative review for any business and especially for dollar store, as my expectations there are really lowered. I know- you get what you pay for but not this time...Here is what happened- I purchased three boxes of pain relief patches. When I got home and finally opened them two of them were empty! Wasn't sure whether to laugh or be mad. So I decided to call the store and let them know, thinking that they will apologize and take care of the problem...was very wrong. First it took them forever to pick up the phone. Second, there was no manager available at the time (of course) and the lady is telling me they don't issue refunds nor do they give store credit or anything of that kind. The only option for me is to go back there and exchange my empty boxes for full ones...and not only that, but I had to make an "appointment" to go back so the manager can be there too...are you kidding me...? Wasn't worth my time and gas money to go back and I have no intention of ever going back to that store again. I feel really bad for leaving one star but what happened is absolutely unacceptable so I decided to share it. read more
