I normally go the Dollar Tree in Troy (in the Walmart plaza) but I was on my way to Panera to pick up curbside, and this was the only dollar store in that area. It had kind of an old/funky smell inside. I saw they had cards through the window, so that was encouraging, but their Halloween selection is pretty limited; they maybe had like 10 different card designs to choose from, but 7-8 of those were for little kids (grandkids, children, etc). I ended up buying five for family and friends, and good thing I did because they have a $5 minimum limit for credit cards. The final reason I'm giving them 3 stars: the cashier was not wearing a mask. The man next to him beside the counter was, FWIW. He had a very thin layer of plastic sheeting between me and him, so I'm guessing that's why he thought it was fine ... however, I'm "high risk," so I definitely wiped off my credit card with a wipe when I got back to my car. I wouldn't stop by here again, I will just go to Dollar Tree next time. But they do have a lot of cards (non-Halloween ones) if you need them.

While shopping I observed why the store is so messy. As I was walking…read more around I noticed customers throwing clothes on the floor, on top racks and never putting them back where they got them and parents letting their children run wild in the store and destroying and opening the merchandise. Also seen other patrons walking around with a cart full of merchandise and discarding what they do not want any old place . I am sure the employees work very hard to clean and keep the store as tidy as possible and the store should not be judged by who works there but how rude some customers are.

During a recent shopping trip, I encountered a situation that highlighted this issue. As I was in dire need of using the restroom, I inquired about its location. To my dismay, I was informed by a disgruntled employee that there were no public restrooms available. Recognizing my urgency and the imminent risk of incontinence, a female employee intervened and kindly requested that I be allowed to use the restroom. Despite my gratitude, the employee remained dismissive and turned away. Subsequently, he contacted another employee via walkie-talkie to unlock the restroom door. In a state of panic, I rushed through the store, nearly damaging my clothing due to the prolonged nature of my urgency. It is perplexing that there are multiple stalls in the restroom, yet no single toilet is accessible. I suspect that this may be attributed to a lack of concern for customer needs or a preference for avoiding unpleasant situations. However, there are effective ways to address such issues. It is unacceptable that I had to endure such discomfort and distress(tears) in a shopping center to get help. Apart from this incident, I had no other complaints about the store.

I also purchased Serta Soft Cool and Warm material Bed sheets throughout my browsing and price checking with comparison. Yes, this location maybe disorganized at times or messy areas of towels or other sale items but shoppers can be the reason because every time I shop here for a sale item or check on an ad item, the staff here are working the best they can and hard at times unpacking boxes to stocking shelves. I've been greeted with a Hello at times which is courtesy of them in between their busy work schedule. If busy at check out and a long line begins, another pleasant employee will open up another register. Overall I enjoy my Ollie's Bargain Outlet. They always have a large, albeit random, selection of…read moreproducts. I will however admit that the store could be much more clean and organized, as the floor and shelves are often messy, and many aisles are almost bare of products. While this is unfortunately the case, I must add that I do see employees out doing what they can to remedy the situation, and all of the employees I've interacted with have been friendly and helpful. The store is large, and I love their huge selection of books. They also have a very large parking lot, so there is no issue finding a spot. It's great for yard and home items, also rugs and carpet remnants. Ollie's could use some polishing, but it's still a great quick stop shop.

When it comes to organization, this is the place to be. Whether it's a room, closet or any other…read morespace that needs tidying and organizing, this store is worth checking out. We were looking for small bins to tidy up our cupboards and linen closet and found just what we needed. We also found a nice coat rack for the wall by our back door. The staff was super friendly and helpful with their suggestions as they guided us to what we were looking for. As of this writing 5/10/26 they're condensing the store to make room for Bed Bath and Beyond merchandise, so there's some great clearance prices. We're looking forward to returning for more organization ideas and to see the look of the store once the transformation is complete. Keep this store in mind if your spaces need organizing because there is definitely something for every room and everybody.
