I've been to this place three times in the week since I moved in around the corner. All three times I've gotten attitude and poor service; and it's not like it was busy. The girl behind the counter practically rolls your eyes at you and the pothead making coffee can't keep orders straight. I think I'll be going to the 7-11 which is just around the other corner. At least I can make my coffee correctly and the person behind the counter will greet me with a smile and wish me a good day. This place is adorable--small but adorable. I love grabbing one of the couches in the back room, when available. The staff are always so friendly and helpful, recommending drink ideas and willing to make non-menu tea lattes for me! I've tried their sandwiches too and while they are a bit on the pricy side, they're pretty good. Dollop is a super chill cafe. The furniture is comfy, the baristas are completely informal (not a complaint), and the coffee is good. Ive definitely had better lattes and their pastry section is almost nonexistent, but I'm alright with that because I appreciate the much more honest atmosphere than an uptight cafe. read more

Delicious coffee, great food - they even have delicious sandwiches and fruit smoothie drinks in a cooler. Amazing pies (I'm a sucker for desserts), and an incredible selection of teas. Plus, I always look forward to seeing Max or Jillian, two servers, there. They are super nice and fun, and have had some excellent suggestions for new things to try so that I don't always have to get boring old coffee or green tea when I go. Gillian suggested this amazing coconut tea last week that she made me with a little bit of soy milk in it that was absolute heaven. I absolutely love this place. For a while it was sort of a second office, where I bought coffee and enjoyed a delicious salad while I got some creative work done. The people there are nice, fun, laid back and professional. The environment is just what a coffee shop should be, damn good coffee without being pretentious. This is my favorite of the 3 locations that I have been too. We no longer live close by and yet still go out of our way to grab a take away or bring friends along and introduce them to the Dollop experience. read more

Dollop is a great place to hang out and drink a good cup of coffee, as I have done on many occasions while I was living in Uptown. The baristas are really friendly compared to some other places I've been. The music is occasionally a bit too loud, but it has hardly ever been a problem, even when I'm planning on hanging out there for a bit. The thing I like most about Dollop is the laid-back atmosphere and the comfortable furniture. I think the quieter area in the back is a great idea, as some people go to a coffee shop to see friends while others may go to read, study, etc. All in all, this is a great place, and I wish I got the chance to come around more often these days. read more

I am not a huge coffee drinker but i liked their tea selections. I used to go here for the free wifi and some banana pie or a brownie. Its a very chill and cozy spot, however sometimes the employees dont make you feel as welcome. Maybe i am not "indie" enough or something but i remember the first time I went with my friend and she noticed the vibe too. I was never a big fan of Dollop. It's always crowded with people and I could hardly find any seat. If I ever find one, it will be at the back of the cafe which is quite dusty and dark. Dollop, oh Dollop. How can I write an objective review? You symbolize the single life to me. A time of living in the City, with fewer responsibilities. A time when I could wake up late on Sunday, and wile away the day with the newspaper. I think I had a couple of first and only dates here. Perhaps choosing to work from here today is both sweetly nostalgic and somewhat masochistic. We cannot recapture our youth. To get down to the important stuff, the coffee and pastries are both quite good. Not setting the world on fire good, but solid. Dollop gets an extra star for nearly perfect decor, with a wonderful tucked-away back room. This is one of the best places to hang out in Buena Park, a small neighborhood that is not quite Uptown or Lakeview. Now I will get back to living in the present moment. read more

I have gone to this place several times. I don't really like it, but I still go back. It's fairly convenient to where I live and they have free wi-fi. It is a good place to go study and it gets pretty crowded on the weekends. I also like that they are open until 10 on the weekdays. Most coffee shops close earlier. The couches in the back are pretty comfortable, even if they are old and gross. They also have plenty of plugs to plug your laptop in. The coffee and tea is okay, nothing special. They only serve muffins and bagels and other sweets. I would like it if they sold some sandwiches or something that would be good for lunch or dinner.
