The bossy manager asked me "Where is the outside clear plastic bag?", Iam so sorry unfortunately I didn't have it. I had a big black outside bag, but she doesn't care. If you are going to return an items, you must bring the clear outer bag. They said they can't refund my money to card, and only gave me a store gift card. I like some of the items in dollskill. I came into the store about an hour before they closed. I wanted to look for some last minute outfits for my birthday. After seeing their stuff online I really wanted to come check-out the stuff in-store. Luckily I found everything I needed with ease. I encountered some amazing customer service from Steven. I've been shopping with Dolls Kill for years and usually I'm generally pleased with the items I receive . But this time that was by far not the case . The items I received were damaged and no where near the quality I expected. Upon reviewing their policy I realized that there is a store front location close to me and that I could return the items in person (Thinking that would be easier) . Upon entry I was met with hostility and unprofessionalism . Although I had the items with the original Tags , that I received on the items (delivered yesterday) , order number and email confirmation in hand , they questioned me as to why "store labels" were on the clothing items that I brought although I ordered online ?! As if I work for Dolls Kill and should know ? They also mentioned that they've never seen those Items in store before which to me means they obviously only sell them online. To me this was insinuating that what? the items were stolen?! or not belonging to their store franchise ?! As a minority I felt the workers definitely held Racial prejudice and biased assumptions and they lacked the basic yet necessary customer service skills to deal with paying customers. After talking to them and showing them all the proof i mentioned before AGAIN . They ended up FINALLY putting my order number in to prove the validity of what i was telling them from the start, and after all that all they could offer me was a gift card ?! When quite frankly I will NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM DOLLS KILL AGAIN , I left with the issue unresolved because I don't want a gift card I just want my money back ! Therefore I will be reaching out to customer service via phone or email and I will write a formal complaint about the Manager of the Fairfax location who is EXTREMELY PREJUDICE towards Black minorities. read more

***UPDATED REVIEW: 10/7/18 Got a chance to visit the store. (they were actually open this time) The store itself is pretty small but also pretty cool to look at. Rn there's a section just for Halloween costumes. Selection of clothes is ok. There ARE fitting rooms. Each room is decorated really cutely!!! The employees in the fitting room are very friendly however I would be VERY careful buying clothes here as when I tried on clothes 3 items were "damaged" like a broken zipper, and when I tried on some pants the associate brought me a new size that she wasn't sure was considered damaged or not. (Aka they might put damaged clothes back on sales floor accidentally). RETURN POLICY : DONT BOTHER Their return policy via their online website says you can return online items. All returns will be given STORE CREDIT. What they don't tell you is that if you buy something ONLINE, they will only give you ONLINE CREDIT. If you want to buy anything IN STORE you WILL NOT be able to use your STORE CREDIT, IN STORE. It's not specified via their return policy and it's completely ridiculous. As of 10/7/18 they also DO NOT have gift cards or cards where they can issue you your store credit. I spoke to Natalie who responded to my last yelp review and although sweet, not very helpful. She backed up the stores problems with the fact that "this store has only been open for 6 weeks" ...... DONT OPEN A STORE UP IF YOU AINT READY? Overall very disappointing but idk what I expected from them when they send you emails like "omg babe xxxxx so sorry ur item u ordered is out of STOcK THAT SUXX"" . They are really good. I love the store and looking athe display. I love going to their Annual Sales, its better to find plus size in that event that they have. I would NOT recommend going on a regular day unless you are going to check out new launches and other items that you can try on person. As a plus size person i just find it like a waste of my time going if i know there will only be small sizes. They only go up to 2X but you can find a 3X here and there somtimes. read more

I absolutely love this store! Today I tried on basically everything and the people that work there were so extremely kind. I always feel bad trying on so many clothes, but they never made me feel bad about it. As a long time customer, I'm so disappointed and will never buy from them again. I placed an online order for a costume and requested it be shipped to their Los Angeles location so I could pick it up from there. Everything went smooth and I was told my order arrived and was ready for pickup. The next day I would go and make the 1.5 hour drive to get the costume. The morning of, I got an email stating they gave me store credit for the price I paid for the costume with no further details. I emailed them and asked what was going on and that if they sold my costume, I'd like a refund back to my card, not store credit. Once again, no explanation as to where my costume went. I had bought some stuff on a whim for Halloween last year and had great customer service by Aldo, I went back for even more for Coachella this year and thankfully he was still there and was able to provide direction guidance and even help me pick out an outfit for Sunday. Such cool clothes and i love that they separate the sections by themes of the clothing, but some of the attitudes of the employees need improvement tbh, especially this skinny, pale, long dark haired girl (who my friend also had problems with too on a different day) she was quite rude and seemed like she didn't even want her job. Shout out to Alyssa for helping me with the returns. I didn't realize on their website that all returns were GIFT CARD ONLY, so I ended up spending a pretty penny on their clothes. Which is why there is a one star deduction. I hate that I overlooked the fine print. Fortunately, I actually like their clothes but the sizing is kind of confusing. XXL is still for straight sized gals, whereas 1X, 2X, and 3X is available for the plus sized gals. I love love loved their selection for straight sized clothing but their plus sized selection is not the greatest for us. Which is okay, things can definitely improve over time and I look forward to seeing the potential grow for Dolls Kill. This location doesn't currently have a lot of plus sized clothing for you to try on, so you'll still have to go online to make those purchases. Ok, I orders a bunch of stuff online. Never received a confirmation email? Texted them and they resent the confirmation. Waited on pick up email, never received it. Texted asking for an update, not answer no phone call to talk to someone real time. Drove to store, took an hour with LA traffic just to be told my package was sent back.. -.- and given a refund with credit to store only .. even tho I asked and reached out about my package. As a native Angeleno, I never expect to receive the best service at any establishment ; however, my experience here was absolutely phenomenal. Katie greeted me incredibly warmly, was attentive to my needs, and gave me a lasting personable experience overall. She made herself readily available, offering to retrieve garments of other sizes or styles per my request. Although I am not an influencer or socialite of any sort, the treatment I received was high caliber and specialized to enrich and streamline my experience. I will most definitely be returning to this location, as Katie pointed out many of the garments and brought up creative, stylistic ways of utilizing them. This obviously doesn't help the people that already went through trouble with shipment but if you're thinking about shopping with them here's a couple tips: plus size - just order on the site, easier to find stuff and bigger selection than the storefront. the sizing is very accurate so don't worry, but i have seen that they only do refund to gift card so keep that in mind. ordering online - if you can, get it quickie-shipped to the store and just pick it up. orders are usually ready same day or next day and it's better than waiting over a week or going through the hassle of having your package lost sales - again, online is the way to go lol this fairfax store is extremely new and before it opened all i knew was the online store. the best sales are online and you gotta sign up with your phone number or email to get the news! read more

I placed an online order for my Halloween costume. I ordered the size that was recommended based on their sizing chart. When I received the costume it was enormous. Trying to get in touch with them is absolutely impossible. I tried to exchange the item, but I received it one day past their return date. I searched for any way to reach them and finally found an email that wasn't bounced back to me (after 3 attempts with 3 different email addresses). I sent an email and NEVER received a response, yet continued to receive multiple sales emails. I'm extremely disappointed with their lack of customer service. I will never purchase from this company again. Now I'm going to look like a giant orange marshmallow, when I was supposed to be a cute NASA astronaut. If I went with my usual size and didn't utilize their "accurate" size chart, I would probably be happy with the costume.
