curious as to why your dolly isnt getting picked up or why your getting guys who did crappy work? perhaps it is maybe the price gauging dolly is committing not only on dolly helpers and hands but also on customers themselves. for example.. the $122 job is charged at $200 which is a 44% commission per helper/hands. ive personally seen as much as 65% commission taken then remaining 35% split 2 uneven ways! (typically 65% truck owner and 35% for assisting individual. keep in mind low payouts lead to poor quality work!! keep in mind the screenshot displays 2 man payouts!! that are split before tax fuel and optional tip!! we take of our vehicles and all overall expenses not dolly! this is 8:30am on a sunday morning.. 2 out of 19 have an ok payout.. what dolly will do is constantly suggest for customers to either broaden a time window or change the time and or day hoping that a rookie or "sucker" will pick up a job without them having to give up a commission cut. when it comes to a "overbooked schedule" i only find this to occur most commonly with the "flat rate" moves. the system doesnt accommodate enough time to complete. and again with the given rates it forces helpers and hands to potentially overbook in order to get quantity to allow the bullshit quality to add up. the only requirement to be a dolly helper or hands is to own a truck or passenger vehicle. no moving experience is required!! lol scheduling in advance doesnt guarentee anything ! to let a job go only cost us $10 penalty! if we see something better we will let go of a bullshit job for something more worthwhile when theres a request for 2 men and one man shows up.. guess what...post commission payout is crap and that man was attempting to make a decent income taking the 2 helper pay which should have been in place to start with. dolly support is run out of the philipines.. which is 13 hours ahead central time.. where its 12pm in chicago its 1am next day there. do you really expect their reps to be 100% on point when its night time where they are? and also there powers and abilities and so sickly limited its not even funny. we are contractors not fucking employees! so quit asking for managers karen!! lmao tips to customers.. make sure your listing is 100% correct! we will adjust on the spot and upcharge if things dont match up. when a dolly is "in progress" adjustments hit at a premium! the only time we can make a job worthwhile. quit forgetting to add exterior stairs to your order and only counting inside stairs.. i didnt know we were able to float or levitate with your items. and fuck your tips.. how many times ive had customers threaten not to tip.. do i look like a stripper or food server to you ? base pay is what counts..guarenteed.. any worker chasing a tip(optional) is just desperate!! lol dolly cut the bs already!!! now youve gotteen to a point that youve made your greed blantly obvious!! read more

I recently had the unfortunate experience of using the Dolly Delivery Service app, and it was nothing short of a nightmare. I cannot emphasize enough how dissatisfied and frustrated I am with their service. From start to finish, it was a series of disappointments, inconveniences, and damages that I never expected. First and foremost, the delivery team provided by Dolly Delivery Service was shockingly unprofessional. They displayed a complete lack of respect and had a terrible attitude throughout the entire process. Their behavior was rude, dismissive, and uncooperative, making the already stressful situation even worse. It was evident that they lacked the necessary training and professionalism required for handling customers' belongings. To make matters worse, the movers were seen wearing flip-flops while moving heavy furniture. This not only demonstrated a complete disregard for their own safety but also raised concerns about the safety of my items. It was clear that they did not take their job seriously and were not equipped to handle the demands of the task at hand. In addition to their unprofessionalism and disregard for safety, the delivery team managed to damage several of my items during transit. The careless attitude of the movers reflect the complete negligence on the part of Dolly Delivery Service. To add insult to injury, Dolly Delivery Service canceled my delivery last minute without any prior notice. I had made all the necessary arrangements and preparations, only to be left hanging at the last moment. This kind of unprofessional behavior is completely unacceptable and demonstrates a lack of respect for their customers' time and trust. Furthermore, the promised time of delivery was completely disregarded, leaving me hanging and requiring me to rearrange my entire schedule. This lack of punctuality and communication further added to my frustration and inconvenience. To top it all off, the delivery team managed to damage my floors while transporting the items. The careless handling and lack of consideration for the surroundings showed a complete disregard for my property, leaving me with additional costs and repairs that I never anticipated. Throughout this entire ordeal, the customer service was far from helpful or empathetic. When I contacted them to express my concerns and frustration, they provided nothing more than generic responses and failed to offer any solutions or compensation for the damages caused. Considering the countless issues I faced with Dolly Delivery Service, I strongly advise against using their app for any delivery needs. Their lack of professionalism, poor handling of items, disregard for time commitments, and damage to property make them an unreliable and unsatisfactory choice. The only reason I gave 1 star is because you have to give at least 1 to post a review, my correct rating is minus -5 stars! I own a resale shop as well as a budget truck rental business many times when a customer purchases furniture we do not have the time to do deliveries so when i was contacted by dolly about the service they provide I thought great idea. Up untill now I had been recommending them to my customers ........BUT NO MORE!!! Today I had one of the most disgusting and disrespectful encounters i have ever had in business. Two dolly movers came to pick up a sofa for a customer as they were carrying it out they were scratching a leather sofa with the foot of the sofa they were carrying when I told them to be careful one of the DOLLY workers said we just had to get this sofa off a shelf and your going to complain about us scratching your sofa you've got to be kidding. I said so you got the sofa off a shelf that is your job wheres the problem? The DOLLY worker then started going off on me at which time I said I don't know who you think your talking to but do not talk to me like that. He then said I'm talking to YOU what are you going to do about it! I told him to get out of my store and never come back. The DOLLY worker than said it's too bad your not a guy because I would punch you in the face and beat the crap out of you. ( not in those words in a rant filled with vulgar words) He continued his tirade of profanity as I walked back into my store fearing for my safety. I then proceeded to call DOLLY asked for a manager the girl said no one was in just her 1 girl answering all the calls hmmm??? I went over everything that happened asked that a manager call me she said they would be in within 2 hours that was at 9 am this morning, it is now 3;00 pm Chicago time no call from anyone at Dolly no concern for the situation that occurred, no concern for the dangerous type of person they are sending to peoples businesses and homes. I don't know about you but I would NEVER want that type of person in my home, or my business. How does a company that deals with the public not take the time to address the situation immediately? That would mean that the 2 DOLLY workers could be on the way to your house. I hope you are not alone. read more

This is our first time to use Dolly and our experience was excellent! Well worth the money. We are 67 and moving ourselves on a budget. We needed "muscle" from Dolly to move our things from a storage container to a small 17 ft. UHaul truck. Gerardo B showed up early, pleasant young man, ready to work. Our challenge was packing tightly. (20 ft wasn't available). My husband was embarrassed by me asking Gerardo immediately, "are you good with spacial things"? Without a second thought he said, "Well, I grew up playing Tetris"! Enough said for me, I knew I could pass my job on to this stranger and get out of the way! He was experienced, bright, intuitive, and motivated. He knew exactly where to put fragile and light! He interacted with us, suggested, and listened to us both. The last thing he had to do was help my husband bring a side by side refrigerator out of a two turn basement stairwell. He was positive and encouraging to my husband who felt it might be impossible. When we opened the truck at the destination today, the first comment made was, Wow, that is really a good pack job"! Credit to Gerardo B! If we had gotten a guy who was only "muscle", waiting for us to tell him what to do at every step, this could be a different review. This is a Dolly review, so if this is an example of all of their independent associates, high praise to the company! This is also a personal review for Gerardo B, the guy we were fortunate to get. This is my first Yelp review ever, but after the awesome experience that I had I feel like I have to share. I downloaded the app when I saw the ad on the CTA because I had just moved back to Chicago and was trying to figure out how to move my stuff from storage. When I had a small booking issue on the app, the VP of Dolly personally reached out to me to make sure that everything was working well. The second time around I was able to successfully book my Dolly for 6pm. I booked at 4:20 pm THAT SAME DAY. My driver, Gavin, made sure to help me get things into the van and into my apartment. Everything happened quite flawlessly, and I was charged only 30 bucks. (Can I also just say, I called around for other moving companies around Chicago and none of them were able to offer me same day moving for my box spring and mattress. The earliest they could do was tomorrow morning, but they also wanted to charge me 260 bucks for a two hour minimum with three guys. Let me reemphasize that the only thing that I needed moving was a box spring and mattress. I was also moving it 12 blocks away, so it made absolutely zero sense to pay so much.) What's so great about the Dolly app is that you pay exactly for what services you use. There's no flat rate, and you don't have to feel like the moving company cheated you out of your money. I will definitely be recommending this app to anyone I know who is moving things. Again, great job with this service! read more

I traveled from Chicago to Los Ang to purchase a sewing machine that I saw on a YouTube video. Who does that-GO FIGURE. Anyhow things turNed into a fiasco bec the Store Owner in LA told me and I asked him three times, he said that the delivery people would bring the industrial sewing machine upstairs to third floor and unbox everything but he lied I guess just to get my money. Anyhow the delivery company showed up without scheduling a drop off then I found out that they only deliver to front door. I call an cuss out the lying store owner who tells me that he never said they would bring it up I scramble around to find men who would help bring up machine after delivery company 2nd attempt at drop off I couldn't find any men so I called. moving company who quoted $400 I told him I only needed muscle power he referred DOLLY. EXCELLENT AND COURTEOUS SERVICE BY DOLLY. I recommend. Back to lying store owner. I told him to pay for whomever I got to bring machine upstairs so I call and tell him to CashApp or PayPal he says he can only offer me a $100 get this STORE CREDIT lol.........!!!! Thank you DOLLY for sending the Brothers to save the day and not having me and my machine sitting in the rain with no one to help bring the 150lb machine upstair. read more

Horrible company! I will never attempt to use this service ever again! Such a waste of time and money! I booked a pick up with 2 helpers to move one couch I purchased on Facebook marketplace. They accepted my booking and requested and accepted my pre-payment. Sorry since the payment went through I assumed my delivery was accepted and scheduled for the following day as requested and paid for. I was drove 40 miles to meet the movers at noon, only to receive a text 20 minutes prior to scheduled arrival that "maybe" they "might" have found somebody available to help! Wtf??? They took and confirmed my order yesterday, why did I waste my time driving there just to be told no movers were available? They not only inconvenienced me but the people I purchased the sofa from had rearranged their schedules too! Then when I was finally able to get a representative on the phone, all they could offer me was to rescheduled for another day and time, but that's when I was told that none of their bookings are guaranteed! Seriously? What's the point of this service if there's no guarantee that someone will even show up! It was a ridiculous waste of time and gas money! And, I'm still disputing the charge as my money has not been refunded! read more

The guys who work at Dolly are willing to help you no matter what. I found myself in a frustrating situation where I was stuck in Chicago rush hour traffic and wasn't able to be at the house when the movers came to move my bed. I called Dolly customer service about 5 times in the hour I was stuck in traffic asking them to tell my movers I'll be late by 15 min, then 30 min, then 45 min, etc. They had the best customer service! So nice and so down to earth. I finally had to call a 6th time and cancel my dolly because traffic was just too bad. I was nervous because I had no other mover and I HAD to be out of my apartment the next day or else my landlord probably would of sued me. So I called Dolly customer service one last time to ask if my original dolly could squeeze in time the next day to help me. The customer service rep gave me my dolly's personal cell number and I was able to call and have him squeeze me into his busy moving day. Everyone was so accommodating and nice and my move would not have been smooth without them. To my Dolly mover Melvin--THANK YOU for saving my butt! Extremely unreliable service. My brother-in-law hired this service 2 days in advance to help move thing out of his grandmothers apartment because she recently passed away. Theu had bored a trailer l, reserved the elevator in the building and had everything lined up to move THAT day. After being rescheduled several times and being GUARANTEED that someone would be arriving to help move, no one ended up showing up. After 10 calls to customer service theu finally found someone that can come at 9PM, when we had originally been scheduled for 4pm. At 9:30PM, still no one had shown up and we get a text saying that they are too tired to come because of the heat. We also have come to find that a friend had scheduled dolly to help her move into her apartment and they had last minute rescheduled one her TWICE. Needless to say, they are extremely unreliable and unprofessional and I would not recommend this service to anyone and we will never be using dolly again. read more

I was awarded the pleasure of working with Bob and his helper Kristin and I couldn't have asked for better service. I was moving from an older third floor walk up with the worst steps in the city. They were also very understanding of my limitations during the move as I was coming off a recent surgery. I apologized before we started but Bob and Kristin came in with the most amazing can do attitude. It was far from an easy task but they went above and beyond to make sure they got each piece out of the building without damage. When something did get a minor knick or scratch they alerted with right away. There weren't any issues that couldn't be easy sealed. I would recommend Dolly to absolutely anyone. It save me money compared to a larger moving company considering the size and distance of my move (one bedroom apartment, 6 minutes away). AVOID THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY! Get a real mover! I reserved a Dolly to move a few large pieces of furniture from a family member's house. I reserved the date and was assigned a driver and second person. However on the day of the move, they didn't show up. I called customer service and was told that I needed to re-book it, no apology, no explanation other than it was an "open" reservation whatever that means. Apparently when you reserve a move, it's not actually "reserved" at all and you have no recourse if the driver just decides not to show up since it's a 3rd party. I had used Dolly once before, but will NEVER use them again. I instead called a reliable moving company and will have them come in a couple days, a huge inconvenience for me and my family who spent half a day driving and prepping for this small move. Hello Dolly. I needed a couch moved and I needed it moved fast. I'd heard about Dolly, and my youngest daughter has a doll she aptly named Dolly, so I thought I'd give it a try. My expectations were low, to be honest, as I was somewhat jaded by numerous scary Craigslist experiences. Boy was I surprised. Pleasantly so. My Dolly's were INCREDIBLE. Anthony called me a few times, it bordered on annoying, like when someone is too nice, to keep me apprised of the timing. He was respectful, and sweet on the phone, and was even more so in person. He and his partner maneuvered a 10 foot couch into my house without scratching my wood floors, or damaging the couch. No easy feat. I love them. I love Dolly. My daughter is thrilled to meet another Dolly. Thank you Anthony (and Mark) for making this a super experience, from start to finish. read more

I'm extremely lucky in that I have a fiance, Dad and friends that are able to move things for me usually. However, this week, no one was available to help me move a large desk out of a place I am closing on Friday...I was silently freaking out until I remembered hearing about Dolly. Wow. What a great solution! The app worked really well (wasn't glitchy and was really intuitive) and quick to book a time. Within 15 minutes I heard from my Dolly mover (Oscar) confirming he'd be there. The day of, I asked if he could come any earlier and he was there exactly when I'd hoped. Very professional, very friendly. The only downside - I kind of thought $75 ($64 with my discount code) was steep for a 15 minute move. However, the efficiency and peace of mind made it worth it in the end. I wanted to write a positive review since there are so many negative ones. And I had a great experience with Dolly! I imagine it depends on the people who help, but Robert and his helper were so good. I needed a heavy sleeper sofa and an arm chair moved from my friend's apartment to a storage unit. Of course my friend's apartment was right where the Memorial Day parade staged so EVERY street was closed. Robert was patient and we finally got him to the loading dock on Lower Wacker. He and his helper moved the heavy furniture and then drove the 11 miles to my storage unit and then helped me move things around to get the couch to fit. They were so nice and friendly and willing to help! I highly recommend Dolly for those one-off moves when you don't want to rent a U-Haul and lift heavy furniture. read more

Remodeling a bathroom and purchased multiple large items, i.e toilet, vanity, etc., and needed help with muscle and delivery. My nephew told me about DOLLY and I went online and had an appointment and text from DAN in a few minutes. Downloaded the app later and all went well with communications. Dan and his helper showed up exactly on time at the store with a pickup and transported the items to my condo. They un-boxed all the items and recommended i check them as they came out for any problems - great idea! They made sure all was well and then split up and packed all the empty boxes and took them out - maybe 30 minutes total - WOW. Nice gentlemen, excellent service, reasonable prices and I will definitely use Dolly again. Thanks! read more
