TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - DO NOT RECOMMEND First, I was initially quoted 3 to 5 hours for my move, consistent with other estimates I received. However, the move took over 7 hours, which increased my final bill significantly. Second, only one of the three movers had the skill to disassemble and reassemble furniture. After unloading, two movers stood idle while only one worked on reassembly, extending the process. Third, one mover consistently showed carelessness. He hit walls and, at one point, dropped a ceramic side table from a height, breaking it. Additionally, while waiting, one of them sat on my bedroom dresser. I do not use my dresser that way, and this behavior was highly unprofessional. Fourth, [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called them immediately after the move and was told to expect a response within 3 days. The price is the hook, they use to get you but the service was horrible. the guys showed no sense of urgency, they made a 3 hour move into a 5 hour move, they lost my microwave glass plate, so I had to buy another one, they got my mattress dirty so i have to buy another one, and they damaged my dresser. I would not use them again, I would rahter pay more per hour for people who will get the job done, in a timely mannor than people who milk the clock. I had to stop them from moving everything because they were so slow, it would have taken 7 hours. I would have moved myself with a uhaul truck, but was recovering from surgery, but I could have done it faster alone, than these two guys. Ask yourself, how would it take to move 1 dresser,2 beds( full & twin size ), a computer desk,3 tv's, and boxes, no couch, frigde or stove. A very small move. read more

It is with deep sadness that I have to write such a bad review for Ondemand Movers USA. As of today, it has been three months since the movers moved my husband and I into our new place. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to see that the dispatcher sent one less mover than what we agreed on, and a truck that was too small. The movers that we got were kind, strong, and patient, they also moved pretty quickly. I appreciated their service and speed. They called their boss before beginning to move anything to let them know that I thought the truck was too small and they ended up having to take two trips, which they removed the charge from my bill since the dispatcher messed up. That's fine and I appreciated this... the biggest problem came in when one of the movers dropped my dining room table in the hallway of our building, causing significant damage to the wall and to our table. The other mover and I saw him drop the table and cause the damage, so there was no question about the incident happening or who caused the damage. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The other mover told me he would document what happened in our file and it would be no problem to get this resolved and that someone from their office would contact me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]After almost a month of not hearing from anyone, I started sending emails and no one was getting back to me or my building manager.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then I found their insurance company name on the COI. After filing a claim with their insurance, I finally heard back from Mike, the manager at OnDemand Movers and he made it seem like our building did something wrong by fixing the damages. Buildings do not wait forever to repair something, if your company wants to fix it your way and not be charged what a condo association charges then you actually have to contact us to discuss. After being passed around to their HR/ Claims person and getting ghosted several times, it is three months later and I have still not been reimbursed for my damages. Ordinarily, I try to be more patient with small businesses and support them whenever possible, but this is ridiculous. It does not take three months to reimburse someone for their damages. I've been told that the checks are lost in the mail, then received an offer to get a Zelle and we all know that Zelle is instant but I have not received that either. It's sad to say that I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

i had the worst experience of my life dealing with this company. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I scheduled a move time earlier in the morning with this company. They gave me me a time and told me that the mover would be to move me between the hours of 2-3pm. they called back and told me that the movers got finished early and they could move my moving time to 12-1pm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I rushed to my storage uni, only to wait 3 hours for them to never show up. I paid this company $1,500 to move my 2 bedroom apartment about a mile away. The actual cost of moving was more like $12,000. They completely ruined my $9,000 Restoration Hardware couch. There was a giant hole in it and several parts of it were completely black. I had to go to Restoration Hardware and order a new $9,000 couch to replace the one they ruined. They told me that their insurance would cover the damages. 5 months later I receive an email saying they're going to mail me a $90 check. That made me livid. They ruined my floors in several spots and messed up my drywall - I'm in a brand new unit. I'm going to have to pay for that when I move out. They also broke one of my computer monitors. In total I'm probably looking at a $12,000 is what I actually paid for this move. Also, after they left I found several pieces of art amongst our things that weren't ours. They must have still had them in the truck from the last move! These guys pay no attention to detail and they don't know what they're doing. I watched the guy pick up my couch by himself and slide it across the hardwood floors. They came back to fix the drywall, but after it dried you can clearly tell it was a hack job, so I'm going to have to pay for that. So if you want your expensive furniture, electronics floors and walls ruined, all for the low price of $12,000, then this is the company for you! read more

I almost never write reviews, especially negative ones. Our experience with ondemand was disappointing, to say the least. Despite understanding the challenges small businesses face, particularly in industries like moving, I feel compelled to share our feedback for the benefit of others who may be considering their services. In short: our move was chaotic. From damaging my car while parking their truck to the serious injuries sustained by their team due to unsecured equipment in their truck, the entire process was filled with issues. Only maybe half of our boxes were labeled, leading to confusion and frustration during unpacking, and numerous expensive items were left behind at the condo, necessitating multiple return trips all week with a van while working two full time jobs with two young kids. Communication with the company since has been disappointing and ineffective. And our concerns have definitely not been adequately addressed. The pack and move was far from cheap (much more than our estimate we received), considering it was a local move from one side of town to the other, and the level of service we received did not meet our expectations. From start to finish, there were communication breakdowns and planning issues. The scheduling was initially incorrect, and when it was fixed, the timing for packing was changed without our realizing. So when they called the week of to ask if we wanted more packers to come we didn't think we'd need them. And once we realized it was scheduled for 2pm the day before they were set to come we called but there was nothing they could do. The packing process itself was rushed, with the team leaving early the day before despite us saying they didn't need to when we went to get food for the kids. The subsequent day of the move was filled with further problems, including delays in loading the truck and assembling furniture, resulting in us having to spend the night in a hotel due to the beds not being ready even by 10pm. Despite assurances of reimbursement for the hotel, we are yet to see any action on this front. Packing standards were subpar, with items being haphazardly thrown into boxes and many not being wrapped at all. The lack of proper labeling further exacerbated the confusion during unpacking. While the team worked hard, it was evident that there were planning issues that should have been addressed. The lack of contingency planning when it became apparent that they were behind schedule or that items might not fit into the truck is concerning. Also, one of the guys was seriously injured due to them not securing their own equipment in their truck, and he continued to work despite this with no additional help or backup guys being called in. Additionally, the damage to my car's mirror was an inconvenience that is still being resolved. Others should approach with caution. read more

Honestly, best quality, affordable, and reliable moving service in the city. After being quoted almost $1,000 plus at other places and having a moving company quit a couple days before my move I was nervous to find other movers. I called two days before my move and Ondemand was responsive almost immediately. Compared to others, their rates are very reasonable. I had 2 guys for a studio size apartment (400-500 sq ft). The guys were scheduled to arrive between 8 and 8:30 and showed up at 9. That would be my only critique, otherwise they were amazing. They took their time making sure to wrap fragile items and pack it properly, but didn't drag their feet. Between both loading and unloading my move was about 3.5 hours. I'm sure if I had hired a third guy it would have gone by much quicker. No hidden fees or surprises at the end. I paid extremely close to my lower estimate range. You pay an hourly rate but only pay prorated by the minute beyond the hour after their two hour minimum. There was also a flat fee but it was more affordable than other companies. The guys were super friendly and very respectful of my belongings. I'd HIGHLY recommend to anyone moving within the city, especially those moving only a studio to one bedroom sized apartments. We hired Ondemand Movers to help us move in July, based on the mostly positive reviews the company had. Unfortunately we did not have the positive experience a lot of others had with their move. We were not prepared for the move, which was made worse when they arrived 30 minutes early for the job. Admittedly, 30 more minutes wouldn't have had us prepared, but we could have had more surfaces cleared to allow them to begin moving things down right away. As it was, they seemed immediately annoyed with out unpreparedness and so for the remainder of the move I was trying my best to not bother them any more than I appeared to have already, and when the move was completed in a timely manner I left a hefty tip to show that I appreciated their understanding with my lack of preparation. When I started moving my furniture into the places I wanted it I began regretting leaving such a large tip, however, as I noticed they'd damaged multiple pieces of furniture. A couple of them were inexpensive ikea items so I initially decided to just let it go, it had been a couple of weeks since the move (we had to go out of town right after so couldn't get things situated right away) and so I felt I missed any window on contacting them about the damages and it seemed like more trouble than a small hole punched into a bookshelf and a broken desk drawer was worth. But I now noticed that they'd also damaged an antique sewing machine that's a family heirloom. It's not damaged so bad that it doesn't work, and is mostly cosmetic, but the fact remains that this is something I do not intend to eventually replace, such as an ikea desk, and is something I would not be able to replace as it has deep sentimental value to me. The move was okay overall, our stuff got from point A to point B with no wasted time, and when I did request they take special care with another sentimental piece that's particularly fragile they seem to have done so, as it did arrive in tact and unharmed. Unfortunately I would not recommend them, as I had a poor experience with feeling some hostility and therefore feeling pressured to tip highly to "make up for" my offense and later finding multiple damages to my property. read more

I will never use anyone but this company!! The two gentlemen that came to the house, Darius and I'm sorry I forgot the other name had only our largest items, but a tricky task ahead of them. We have a loft with spiral stair case and heavy pieces. So, moving across the hall became a much larger task. They offered to help with small details and were conscious of marking walls to leaving shoe prints. These men went above and beyond without taking a break. I have had two horrible experiences in the last year with other companies and this company has renewed my faith in moving companies. In my humble opinion, there is just no other company comparable. Two movers arrived on time, George and I didn't get the second movers name, but my move was a little bigger than expected. However, they both moved all my items, even after realizing this was going to take longer. I didn't have a lot of things but my furniture is heavy solid pieces. Movers from the beginning were confused my doorman gave them clear instructions on how to come into my building my doorman was worried for me and I felt second hand embarrassment for them as my building had to tell them multiple times how to get started they even called me with confusion on what to do and I had to get maintenance workers to help them. We all thought this was there first time moving someone when they finally arrived to my apartment, be prepared for a 30 min early or later appointment then what you asked I was expecting them at 10 they came at 10:30, they weren't even going to shrink wrap the items until we told them too. They verbally told us they charge for blankets they later decided to give it to us for free but they do charge for blankets that's not a lie, the movers moved very slow from getting from my apartment to the storage unit and even at the storage facility I physically moved containers and boxes to get them to move faster since they charge by the hour they want as much money as they can get: if I haven't spoken up for myself I'd probably still be there now waiting for them to put my items in storage they don't bubble wrap your items I even USED MY OWN SUPPLIES, Saran wrapped my items sat on the floor and cover it myself as the mover stood there and watched me do it just be warned on that if you are to use this service..I won't be using them again. read more

Mike and company were amazing with our moves back in April. They moved us out of a condo into a storage unit and then out of the storage unit into our new condo a week later.
