At the new Greenwich studio, I worked with Humberto, the lead fitter, and he was fantastic--friendly, professional, and put me completely at ease. The studio itself is gorgeous: stylish, chic, and perhaps one of the nicest Alts locations I've been to. Plus, there's plenty of parking right on Putnam Avenue, which makes it super convenient. I recently brought in more than 10 garments (dresses, sweaters, skirts and jeans). Mix of complex and simple alterations. It's incredible that they are able to handle everything with ease. I also needed some outfits rushed for an event and the team was able to accommodate my short window. Within just 3 days I got an email that everything was ready for pickup--and the tailoring was flawless! This mark didn't exists when I dropped off the dress. When the next day (48 hrs before wedding) it was still there, she stopped replying to my messages. The front of my strapless dress was lopsided becoz she had removed boning to create room around the back zipper, so much so that she offered putting pads to fill the giant gap between my chest and the front. She has no idea how to do French bustles and instead suggests inverted-cones by pulling the dress up and pinning on the outside. Unprofessional and irresponsible. Not to mention how she runs a sweat shop in her garage, working the seamstress on weekends and odd hours.
