Not off to a good start. I've been a pool owner a good number of years at a handful of properties and just bought another home with a pool- this time in plymouth Mn. Prior to hiring a company to service this home I felt I had done my homework. Dolphin looked like they provided quality customer communication, good service, fair prices. So I gave them a call. Talked thru their opening the pool process, I laid out my wants / expectations. Stated I wanted weekly cleaning ect and we set a weekly cleaning day. Well... the opening looked to have went fine however they told me before coming that they did not vacuum on open day - which I thought was weird - stated they needed to let it all settle to the bottom - which it already had as it laid dormant for the winter - but all in all it was open - I was surprised I got no report or communication after their open 5 days ago. So I called them after 5 days - Thursday of thia last week - two days ago - to confirm all went well when they opened and that we were on for yesterday - Friday - with our weekly pool service / cleaning; as I had a group of kids coming over for a party and wanting to swim today Saturday. Thursday - I Was told things went well and they would be there Friday -Yesterday. Then Friday, yesterday - I stayed home so I could meet the techs. Friday came and went - they were suppose to show up set temp, treat and clean. As of noon no one had shown up so I shot them a call to confirm they were still coming. They confirmed that yes they would be getting there yet today, Friday. 6:00 pm rolls around. No show. Office closed. No communication. No apology. Just no show. Saturday, today. They opened at 10:00. I shot them a call to see what happened. They said... we don't know, but that they could transfer me to a Jeremy and he could get back to me Monday. I asked if the guys that were suppose to come yesterday were free to come this morning so I could keep me kids party and so they could swim. He said no one does service work on the weekend and that Jeremy would have to get back to me Monday with an update on when they could get out to the house. Super frustrated. Having to cancel the kids party and bum a dozen kids out. Super frustrated that I did not get any communication - no apology. Why is it that the entire day went by and not once did they feel the need to reach out and communicate after I had called them and confirmed with them both Thursday and noon Friday. The client should never have to reach out to a company to confirm these types of things - rather a company should be proactively be reaching out to their customers confirming things and or providing status updates. I guess I will sit here and twiddle my thumbs till Monday to see if they call and when they will be out next. Would be nice to have the company just do what they say they can do and service the pool per the agreement on the day each week that we all agreed. A persons word needs to start meaning more again. HORRIBLE customer service. I had been a customer for 2 years going into this summer (which was only because I couldn't find a replacement service in our area) and this year I had them open our pool. The guy who showed up was clearly new (they have always had very high turnover in their staff) - he got the cover off and was supposed to add chemicals, but clearly didn't add enough as the pool went from clear to a green swamp in a week. I went and got the water tested and fixed it myself as they were too busy to take care of it. Then we were supposed to have weekly cleanings done just as we have the past 2 years. They said because they were so busy they couldn't give me a regular day of the week to expect them but they could do it...okay, fine - as long as it gets done. After a couple weeks, they just stopped showing up. I left message after message with their scheduling person (never answers the phone) who just never bothered to call me back. After doing the cleaning and chemicals ourselves for a month I just called and told them they might as well close my account and they couldn't have cared less. I guess pool cleaning is the business to be in - you'll be so busy that you don't have to take care of people. read more

Really disappointed with the service. Hired them to open my pool for the season. Received a late night call and they finally showed up at my house that there was a problem with my pump electrical, and I had it fixed called them a follow-up to finish service never heard back. Called again next day he come back and finish opening service. Never heard back. Called again please help me I need to finish setting up pool let me know what you did and you didn't do...... never heard back. Must have a lot of business going on because they can just blow off existing business and not care. Received bill the mail for full-service allegedly performed, no it wasn't. Then received a snarky call requesting payment for full service performed. Did not even have a clue that they never even finished doing their work nor notes, that I called and attempted to reach them to help them achieve that adequate service. Worst Customer service I have ever witnessed. Don't use these fools. They were extremely rude and unprofessional.

We contracted with Dolphin Pool and Spa folks to replace a liner on a pool of a new house we purchased. The install was shoddy. They left rocks, debris and a lot of wrinkles throughout the pool. The worst area being the steps to the pool with horrible wrinkles and the liner pulling away for the pool wall. They had to come out multiple times but only after having a difficult conversation or text exchange. They also ripped our pool cover while removing it to perform replacing the liner. We ended up having to map each and every area there was debris under the liner prove to the company there was indeed debris under the liner. Over 30 items of debris. We also discovered during the pool floor inspection that they had not repaired issues with the pool concrete which was part of their proposal and cost. The next larger issue was regarding the warranty of the liner and the liner itself. I asked the company repeatedly for warranty documentation and was given a link to only the terms of the warranty coverage and a statement that their company covers the warranty and registers the liner for us. Called the company that made the liner and they have no record for 'our' liner, the company registering a liner or us. So, I then asked for the serial number for our liner. And here's where everything started to fit into place as to why the company did not want to provide us with the serial number or actual warranty information.... You see we selected this contractor because of a promotional upgrade on the liner. It was an upgrade from a 20mil liner to 28mil. We even informed and confirmed with the contractor that the liner we selected through him qualified for the promotion upgrade and because of that, we approved their proposal. We wouldn't have ever selected them without this promotional upgrade. I had the contractor confirm that they had installed 28mil pool liner, the contractor confirmed that they had installed a 28mil pool liner on June 18, 2020, so I then called the manufacturer with the serial number to confirm warranty and liner specs. It turned out the contractor didn't install a 28mil pool liner, they installed a 20mil liner. Reached out again to the contractor, the response was not good. Definitely one of the worst contractor experiences I have ever had. I would suggest looking elsewhere for your pool and spa needs. read more

Well, let me start by saying that Dolphin Pool built my pool 14 years ago and they have changed ownership at least 1 or 2 times since. The owners who built my pool did a poor job most notably with the grading around the pool and pouring the concrete when the curing temps were too low. So I was left with a pool that when you had moderate to heavy rains the liner would bulge out stretching it out permanently. Also, the concrete pad around the pool didn't make it one winter without extensive cracking. Fast forward to now. The new owners appear to be more knowledgeable about pools and the associated systems. Obviously, their business model at the retail level is based on owners general lack of pool chemistry knowledge and selling you over-priced chemicals. I have found the Service Manager Jeremy to be very helpful and generous with his time in trying to help troubleshoot issues free of charge. I have tried to reciprocate and support them by purchasing various replacement parts but unfortunately, their "seasonal" business demands they sell at prices that are too high. Example, I needed a new flow switch for the chlorinator which they didn't have in stock and their price was ~$215. I purchased the same switch on Amazon with 1 day delivery for $35. Sorry I just can't justify the high prices when suitable alternatives exist. Believe me, I'm no big fan of Amazon since they are systematically killing off many small business segments but I needed the switch quickly and at the best possible price. Bottom line, a pool in MN is the proverbial "hole" into which to throw your hard earned money... Find a friend with a pool! read more

Going to switch pool services. Staff was quite unhelpful and service call ridiculously expensive for what was actually done. Hope to have better luck with Master Pool and Spa. read more

Their management and staff work closely with you to design and build your new toy and the service department always makes time for customers even if it is a call after hours to say they are getting to you.
