Service here is generally pretty quick and friendly. The wait time for seating during peak times is about 45 minutes, and similar wait times for ordering takeout. I recommend to sit inside - comes with more free banchan (side dishes) and a lot of Korean food just tastes much better fresh on the hot plate or stone pot. The banchan here is okay, definitely not the best I've had, but it's acceptable. The food on the other hand is great, and portions are fairly large. Bad service, was saying the kitchen was closed when we drove here to eat. We came here at at 8:36 pm and the waitress turned us away at the door saying they already closed. On my phone you can see as I'm writing this review it is 8:42 and the app says closed 10pm. Waste of my gas and time. Dolsot House share the parking lot with other shops, parking shouldn't be a issue. The moment we enter, we were greeted and seated. The good hospitality stops there:( i ask every thing to be brought out at once, he denied it saying it is appetizers and entrees. Listen I understand apps come first, then entrees next, but if a customer requests everything to come at once, it should have been granted. Not once anyone checks on us..... how is everything? Would you guys like another drink? NOTHING........ Pretty fast with the check though! Hospitality sucks but the wings are delicious. Wings are so good that my hub came back the next day for more. Definitely get the wings when dine in, not so much for take-out as the wings are not crunchy at all. I didn't like the kalbi too much but my hub and daughter loves them. I am a huge fan of Korean food especially Korean fried chicken and bulgogi. Dolsot house did not disappoint. This place is definitely in my top favorite places for Korean fries chicken. This chicken is extremely crunchy and very moist on the inside and covered in a delicious sauce. You cannot go wrong with this kind of order. During my time here, I enjoyed a large and great priced plate of bulgogi and 2 different sauces with their korean friend chicken. Both were very good and at a great price for what you receive. service- one of the workers there hunted us down in the cold rainy weather to our car because we did not tip the server... tipping is optional. i would understand if it was for a big party... in this case it was only two people. The guy went up to my husbands car and demanded for a tip. He wasnt even our server. This is our go-to spot; the food is always consistent and delicious. The place does get quite busy on peak hours/days but usually very fast with seatings. The only bad thing is they do not give you unlimited/free Banchan. You get the first two rounds of refills for free, but after that, they charge you a fee. I went here specifically for the wings because they rated high. They were pretty good. The wings are on the bigger size. The sauces seem to have a honey aspect to them which causes the wings to be glazed/sticky. Good crisp. Service was good, the restaurant was nice. Practically five pieces of macaroni for their macaroni salad and two pieces of potato. I'm not sure if it's because I came here with someone that's not Asian and think that the food will go to waste or they're just cheap. The store is rather small and cramped so this place isn't really ideal for large groups or dates. We were seated right by the door where you come in from. This place was pretty busy on a Friday night so I recommend going early or expecting a bit of a wait. The prices are pretty decent and the banchan is fresh and free for refills. The area is definitely a bit crowded but the service keeps up with all the orders. All of the food was yummy and flavorful. My friend got the kimchi jigae which was FULL of kimchi and comes with a bowl of rice. I got the pork soon dubu which comes out boiling with an egg and bowl of rice. We also got the kimchi pajun and bulgogi dolsot which was a bit tougher than we like. Wings are also pretty crispy. Overall dining experience was great and we were very full after. Place doesn't accept reservations. Got there around 6:50 on a Saturday night with my hubby and it was a 30 minute wait to be seated inside and a 15 minute wait for outside. Only a bit chilly but I didn't have a sweater so we we opted to sit inside. Our server was great. BYO and he opened our wine and gave us 2 wine glasses. For apps to have after their included mini bowls of varied carbs and veggies, we split wings. Just something about Korean wings that is crazy delicious! For our dinner we got the spicy pork Dolsot bowl and the LA Kalbi Dolsot Bowl to share. The bowls were so flavorful, the pork wasn't quite spicy enough for us, but we have a high tolerance for spice. (We ordered the standard level 3 but will try a 4 or 5 next time). White rice in the bowls but you can upgrade for brown rice. We could've finished both bowls but forced ourselves to leave some to bring home. Only minus was no dessert on the menu! Restaurant is quaint, clean & they fit as many tables inside they could, but the 4 or so outside were a big help. Located in a small shopping center with additional parking in the back. I rarely think that a restaurant is a 10/10 but in the case of Dolsot House it never misses! I have been twice now and both times the food and the service have been top notch - this has quickly become one of my favorite South Jersey hidden gems! Ambiance: The general vibe is low-key family style and a lot of the meals are easy to share so this is the perfect place for family dinner or hanging out with a group of friends! Food: When you first arrive you are given complimentary small plates for your table that include kimchee, spicy pickled cucumbers, some type of macaroni salad, cubed potatoes in a sweet syrup, a sesame beansprout mixture and hard boiled boiled eggs. I enjoyed all but my favorite is always the kimchee and the spicy picked cucumbers! As far as food on the menu, I have tried all the following dishes so far: (1) Korean 'pajun' pancake (scallion & onion) (5/10)- Ordered the small and it was still quite big with a decent sized slice for 4-5 people. It tastes like your typical scallion pancake but more crispy on the outside and softer on the inside with large pieces of onion and scallion throughout the pancake. (2) Korean Fried chicken (10/10): These wings are a are a little crunchier than your typical chicken wing but the crunch makes it that much better. I've tried honey sesame and soy garlic and although I love both I think I enjoyed the honey sesame a little bit more. (3) Seafood Soon dubu stew (10/10): This soup is amazing. It's a salty and spicy broth with soft tofu, shrimp, and mussels. It's the perfect dish to eat on a cold day to warm you up and leave you feeling full. I added veggie dumplings to mine! Also comes with rice. (4) LA Kalbi (10/10): These short ribs were grilled to perfection and I just wanted to keep eating them. Comes with rice and easy to share with a group. (5) Spicy pork bulgogi (7/10): The pork was flavorful and cooked well, but I did feel like the flavor was a little muted compared to other dishes so it wasn't my favorite but still really good. Final thoughts: I love this place and think everyone should check it out if they can! If you're unsure of what to get I'd highly recommend either the LA Kalbi beef, honey sesame wings, or the soon dubu stew. The only negative thing I can think of about this place is that it does get packed around dinner time, so if you can try to make a reservation or you may have to wait a while. read more

With that crispy rice, the egg, the vegetables, I want to drive to NJ just thinking about it. The fried chicken wings! I don't even like wings, omg, they are so delicious, crunchy, messy, perfection. Japchae - Perfect every time. I don't eat beef, but I love these sweet potato noodles and don't even care about the beef, I somehow eat around it. One of my friends was crazy about the beef bulgogi, that's the only thing he got - slivers of tender marinated beef. The combination boxes are great, especially for lunch. The service is amazing, very attentive. The owner, manager, or whatever your position is - you know who we are talking about - recognizes us every time we stop in, even if just once a year. Tried out Dolsot House tonight. It was a long wait, but I would say it was worth the wait. Your meals come with a variety of appetizers which I really appreciate. The staff here are all very friendly. I ordered the bibimbap which was very tasty. My only complaint was for some reason there were no carrots in it like stated on the menu. Otherwise, I liked it a lot. The two others in our party both got the chicken bulgogi box, and they enjoyed it a lot as well. We will definitely be coming back! read more

The meat is juicy, the skin is cooked well and the glazed sauce is excellent. I've also had the spicy pork bulgogi dolsot in the past and it was really good. The bumgogi could have been a little more flavorful but I ordered it to go so that could have had an effect on it. As one who cooks authentic Korean daily at home, Id say that there was no reason for us to dine here except that it was the most convenient Korean spot on way home to Boston from DC. With that said, I'll give an honest review as someone who grew up on some of the best home cooked Korean by a mom who made everything from scratch at artisan level -- also recognizing that this is a small dining establishment in a mall strip with four other competing asian american businesses nearly side by side. Her is what we ordered. I will provide two "well done" and two "could be improved" comments: Sundubu Jjigae -- + right temp as it came out (bubbling hot) + fresh seafood (not frozen) - "extra spicy" should not equate to extra salty (if anything, subtle sweetness should balance out the extra spiciness) - presentation is important when serving food (when there are food particles all over the edges of the bowl, no matter how hot, take the time to wipe it down) we eat with our eyes as well, therefore makes it less appetizing Chicken Bulgogi (marinade) Bento Box -- + decent quantity of chicken + decent attempt at grilling the chicken vs stir frying (though several bottom pieces were well over charred) *cardinal no no of bento box presentation: - #1. do not drench an already sparse salad with dressing to the point that all you taste is dressing - #2. color is everything. Perhaps the preparer knew that my 7 yr old hates veggies? I did not know it was possible to prepare JapChae without any color whatsoever. (I might have thought it was intentional except for the two small pieces of scallions within) YukGae Jang -- (my husband's dish, therefore I did not get a chance to taste the broth) + seemed like a reasonable amount of shredded beef (based on what husband claims) + broth was boiling hot and "not overly salty or bland" (his words) - not enough veggies (esp fernbrake) - size of the bowl was much smaller than usual (though it was a reasonable compromise since dolsot bowls that reach high temps tend not to come in bigger sizes) Chicken Wing & Drums -- (5 Honey, 5 Spicy) + perfect crisp (yet meat tender) + sauce (sweet, but not annoyingly so) - the Spicy were almost undistinguishable from the Honey (the sweetness base of the Spicy should not be so similar to the Honey. use of other flavors could have made this sauce exceptional. eg ground ginger, slight gochujang, wasabi etc. (if you know how to make excellent crispy chicken, why not go all the way?) - (this is not re the dish itself but the accompaniment) -- Note: When the wet wipe squares that come with the chicken start smelling like wet laundry and begins to yellow, its time to replace. Overall, the quality of food was 2.5 considering all things. Kudos for so far surviving a most challenging season for all restaurant establishments as well. I truly do wish you well. Note: The server was exceptionally kind and attentive, hence the extra .5 star Additional Note: yes. I did get a chuckle out of the bathroom sign that said "Aim like a Jedi.
