WOW!!! Doma was an absolute experience. This quaint dining spot in Bernal Heights was a true surprise for us. My husband did a great job finding this place and certainly did not disappoint us. One of the best Omakase dining experience. Let's not forget all the fresh seafood and wagyu beef was so "Oishi!" We can't wait to go back. Perfect Anniversary Dinner for us.

We had our post-Christmas dinner here, and it was beyond lovely. The atmosphere was wonderfully private, and the couple who run the restaurant are incredibly friendly and sweet. Every course of the omakase was delicious. Having visited many sushi spots, we can honestly say the quality and experience surpassed a 1-Michelin-starred restaurant we've been to! The fish was exceptionally fresh and tender; we left wanting more. The scallop, toro, uni, and wagyu were the absolute standouts.

Found this little hole-in-the-wall gem and decided to celebrate our anniversary here--such a great decision! It was quiet, intimate, and felt like a secret spot just for us. Only one other party was dining, which made the experience even more special. We did the omakase, and every piece of sushi was beautifully prepared and stayed true to traditional flavors. Nothing flashy--just incredibly fresh, thoughtful bites. Had a genuinely great time and left full and happy. Definitely a hidden gem worth revisiting.

My spouse and I had an anniversary dinner here. We were the only guests dining so we had an intimate experience. The sushi was creative and fresh. The omakase is reasonably priced and a good value for the 12+ dishes we enjoyed. The sushi chef was fast and polite, although he didn't seem interested in chatting much even though we were the only guests dining. I'm not sure why, but the beverages are all overpriced - $20 for a pot of tea, $20 for a bottle of sparkling water, $19 per glass of wine without any indication of the wine type. We skipped drinks besides water

I never liked eating omakase or sushi in general, but Doma was the best omakase I've ever had, taste-wise and experience-wise. We were celebrating a birthday on a slower Wednesday night. The owners were very sweet, they were understanding even though my party ran 30 minutes late. They have a little floral wall so it's nice for photo ops too. The food was amazing. Normally, I wouldn't enjoy eating omakase but the food quality and quantity was just right. I actually left feeling full and did not need to order supplemental course. It's a little hard to find as it's located in a neighborhood, but worth it. Business looks a little slower compared to all the omakase spots in SF, but the quality and service is definitely worth it. I would for sure come back.

I came here earlier this year for Valentine's day with my girlfriend, and I have to say this is probably one of the most value for your dollar Omakase that you'll find within SF. While $150 is still a lot, for Omakase in the bay area it actually is a pretty good price as you get the whole experience watching the chef prepare the food for you. The inside is homey and well-decorated, with around 15 seats or so at the table around the chef who is in the middle. The service is great, and the chef/waiters are very attentive to everything you need. The food here is great and very high quality, as all the slices of fish are very fresh and imported from Japan. The flavors are top-notch, and it's a show when you get to see the chef use the torch on them right before you eat them. There is a wide variety of items, ranging from monkfish to uni to beef sashimi with gold flakes and caviar on top! I came out of here feeling full, so I think I definitely got my money's worth. Doma seems like a more local spot in SF, and so it might fly under a lot of people's radar. Highly recommend checking it out when you're able to!

I highly recommend this place to everyone, it is such a hidden gem! The place itself is very cozy and relaxed, it is very unique in compare to all other omakase places. Service was excellent, both the sushi chef (owner?) and his wife (server?) were very friendly and sweet. They made our dining experience even better. Highlight of this place is definitely the food! Each piece was well explained and has its own uniqueness. I enjoyed every bite here (which doesn't happen to me often) All fish were fresh, decent and high quality, portion were very generous that we were so full after. And not to mention their dessert! Everything was very well put together. It is a perfect place for a date night or a casual hangout.

Wagyu and caviar with gold flake

Amazing local sushi spot! Incredibly fresh fish, flavors were on point, and the service was impeccable. Highly recommend for a casual date night or special event (I celebrated my 30th here)

Bait and switch... how is this a mom and pop shop do this

Same as another reviewer. It is hard to get an omakase Valentine's Day reservation and my partner and I booked this place and dropped the other reservations we had thinking it was a cute mom and pop shop. They text us a week before Valentine's Day saying they have a special menu and increased the price two fold in a text message. All other restaurants state their Valentine's Day specials upfront on tock. This is clearly a bait and switch and they know it's impossible to make another reservation this late at other places so you are forced to accept their bait and switch.. this is so disingenuous and such a scummy move. Another reviewer warned people already, should have heeded their warning

Update. First time we were able to eat-in here (we got busy kid schedules) since 2019.... For Thursday night, single sitting at 7:00pm, for 18-part omakase. Some pretty decadent stuff, such as wagyu with caviar and gold flakes, and requisite uni (attached photos) Delicious and super filling... as usual!

Can someone confirm for me that they're open for lunch on Saturdays? I see pictures that show lunchtime but the hours seem non updated.

I just walked by earlier, and their sign said 6-10pm every day. So They must not do lunch anymore.

What is their phone number? Trying to make a reservation but don't know how.

They don't have one that I've seen from walking by - I haven't had a problem just dropping by and getting seated

Service: Food / drinks ordered via a worker at the front with a menu to the left to see options available. Staff were friendly and helpful during interaction. Wait time: Not an extremely long wait between ordering and receiving food and drink. A buzzer is given to you which rings when your food is completed. Food: The yuzu salmon onigiri had a decent serving of salmon inside and on top of the rice. Good salmon flavor but slightly lacking in yuzu flavor. Chicken Curry onigiri: a mild curry flavor which again had a decent rice to chicken ratio. The chicken did taste slightly dry despite the curry sauce likely due to the nature of being a ground meat. Matcha Latte c Pistachio Cream was easily one of the best tasting matcha drinks I have had in SF. The matcha had a strong flavor and the pistachio cream did not overpower the taste of the matcha. There was a nice sweet, slightly salty, and pistachio flavor from the cream and the addition of the crushed pistachios was not a weird texture for the drink. I would definitely be interested in trying more of their matcha beverages due to quality and size of drink compared to cost.

Yes, it's an izakaya, but we found ourselves struggling to continue eating the plates since it felt so heavy. Sure, maybe we didn't order the right stuff, but lots of the menu items are deep fried, stir-fried, or grilled also. We enjoyed the cumin lamb skewers and the negitoro the best! We were disappointed in the truffle poppers as each bite was more filled with fried breading than mushrooms. The dessert was beautiful and we did enjoy that. I didn't like the thin noodles with the ramen. It actually reminded me of instant ramen. But to each their own with noodle thickness. I just wish there were options. Everything about the ordering process and the quality of the food itself was good but not great. There was no wow factor or anything that left me feeling extra motivated to return, but I also wouldn't be opposed if I were nearby and craving onigiri. There's a single kiosk in-store to order at, but you can also place an order with the person working the counter if it's not too busy. I wasn't sure what I wanted immediately, so I waited for one of my friends to finish before ordering. I added 1 unagi eel, 1 unagi onigiri, and 1 crab onigiri to my basket and checked out. I have absolutely no idea what's the difference between "unagi eel" and "unagi onigiri", and when I went to pick up my order, the staff member told me my order was two unagi and one crab. However, I was charged $4.50 for the unagi eel and $4.30 for the unagi onigiri, so go figure. I could not detect a difference between the two, and the price of each averaged out to $4.40, so it's whatever. I unwrapped one of the unagi onigiris to eat in-store as we waited for a Zoox to arrive. It was actually pretty difficult to extricate the seaweed and rice ball filling in one piece to consume together, which I presume is because the onigiris are each made-to-order and due to the freshness, the separate ingredients haven't had a chance to marinate and congeal together. As I had not eaten all day, I quickly devoured the onigiris before and after our short ride back to a café where some of our other friends were waiting. The onigiris were, as I mentioned before, pretty standard minus the fact they kind of fell apart. I would say if you like onigiris, then these will get the job done, but they're nothing exceptional, so keep your standards at baseline.
