This is definitely a hole in the wall place. I normally don't stop by this area but I was recommended to try it. I got the lunch special that comes with Pad Thai and Rice / Fried rice. You also get a salad or soup on the side. The lunch special is very affordable. For the Pad Thai, you know it's legit when the color isn't orange. Seriously, this is some of the best Pad Thai I have ever had. It's similar to the ones you get from Thai street food market. The fried rice needed some sauce and adjustments. The good, the bad and the ugly The good- Delicious Coco Chicken Soup! The presentation at the table was awesome with the flaming center. Soup was very filling, added a small bowl of rice, and was plenty for 2 people. The bad- Everything else we had didn't have much flavor. Yellow curry was a bit bland. Kung pao didn't have much flavor either. Sadly not the best Thai food we've had in SFV The UGLY- We were completly neglected and forgotten about by our server. We recbd one glass of water and a soda at the beginning of our seating...the entire hour and a half noone came to refill our water, asked if we needed another drink or anything at all. Trying to flag down someone to help you is impossible, nonoone seems to even try and make eye contact. We never recvd our chicken satae and because noone came to check on us we couldn't tell anyone. We ate through almost the entirr meal before I was able to grab someone and ask for chili...pretty much too late at that point. Honestly, the so so food could have been given another shot, but the pure neglect and.twrrible service really is what sealed the deal for us. Every time I come here the service is phenomenal. Ordered for take out and food is ready so quickly even when the restaurant is busy! I don't know how they do it but they do! The place is clean and has a great vibe. The food is always outstanding. Every time I go I get something new and it never disappoints. The Thai tea is also so good. Be advised, they count baby as a head. So if you come with a party of 5 or more, 15% gratuity automatically which the guy said will be 18% soon. I came with my family, my husband and I and our 3 children, ages 7, 6, and 21 months. Waited 45 mins long to be seated and grabbed everyone's order and ours last. Waited patiently and the guy got our order wrong and he tried blaming it on us. Rudely, I might add, not an ounce of apology. I give it 1 star because the food is decent but service is everything. We have been regulars at this place for 25 years since we moved to the area. The owner is very nice and friendly. We always have great service and excellent food. We especially love the lunch specials. The fried wontons are one of our favorites. They also make fantastic curries. He had a rough time during the pandemic but he survived because he makes excellent food. The place has a very quaint atmosphere. Very Asian inspired. Food review: Thai tea: Great tea taste, quite sweet but not overpowering in my opinion (I enjoy sweet drinks). They added the small ice which was a novelty I enjoyed. This is solid for the price!! Get it Chow mein: Portion size was good, noodles were really good. It was a little runny, a lot of liquid in it. Other than that, good taste. Good ratio of veggies to everything else. Chicken satay: Presentation absolutely beautiful. Plenty of skewers, I was eating at the same time as my friends who ordered lunch dishes and I finished around the same time they did. I enjoyed adding extra chili sauce to the peanut sauce for more flavor. Iced matcha: Unfortunately complete miss for us. Very very sweet and didn't quite taste like matcha. Totally could have been premade / syrup matcha. Couldn't have more than one small sip at a time, both my friends who got it barely had any before leaving it alone. So glad we stopped by this restaurant on our way to nor cal. The waitress was super accommodating. Even though they don't open until 12 at noon, we were seated and well taken care of. We ordered Tom yum soup, pad see ew and Mint leaves rice. The Tom yum soup hit the spot, we also noticed there are more shrimp in there than other places. The pad see eww was very delicious, my son is usually a picky eater and he loved it. The mint leaves chicken was also very refreshing, had a lot of different herbs and spices going on. Pad See Ew was a bit salty and almost fishy. BBQ pork was pretty good and different than what I would have expected. The pickled veggies that came with the BBQ Pork were fantastic! This place is like the only Thai place in the area and it's delicious! They never disappoint and the customer service is good. It's in a small shopping center, and I can usually find parking, and I usually call in my order and pick it up if I don't feel like dining in. Service here is always great even though the place can get very crowded on a Friday/Saturday night so just be patient. The yellow chicken curry in the photo on here looked delicious, the one that I got looked like whatever they added was separating from the coconut milk and also was flavorless. This is a neighborhood restaurant that's regarded highly at my workplace. In pre-Covid times that would be obvious, as during their lunch hours the tables would be packed, along with a healthy number of guests on the waitlist. Service was quick and the atmosphere was welcoming. At this point in time, takeout is the only option. I've been here at least a dozen times before, and I almost always order the a la carte massaman curry with pork and white rice. Just thinking about this combo makes me very happy! The portion is perfectly filling and the flavor is amazing. I've tried massaman curry at other places and while the others were decent, I somehow still prefer it over here. And I'm happy to report that the food still gets prepared relatively fast. The time between when we placed our orders at the front and when they were good to go was about 10 minutes. This includes my colleague's order of pineapple fried rice as well as many other orders being fulfilled for people ordering delivery. Glad to see they're making it work. read more

The one and only Thai spot in Sylmar, and it's THE BEST! My family loves the pad thai. I order with tofu and no egg with steamed veggies and it is perfection. The veggie egg rolls are crispy and flavorful and the Thai iced tea is delicious as well! I like it with no milk just lemon squeezed in. The pineapple fried rice with tofu is another one of my go to's that you can't go wrong with. You just can't go wrong here I think.
