    Leche de Tigre

If you're looking for REAL, authentic, soul warming Peruvian food with incredible flavors and even better people behind it, Asumare Peruvian Cuisine is the place!!! This was one of those dining experiences that sticks with you, and not just because the food was amazing, but because the hospitality made it feel like you were being welcomed into someone's home. We started with the Yuca Frita with Huancaína, and it was the perfect introduction to the menu. The yuca fries were fried beautifully, crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The huancaína sauce was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. That yellow sauce had a subtle warmth and depth without overpowering the yuca. It was comforting, and impossible to stop dipping. Next up was the Lomo Saltado and woah this dish alone is worth the visit. We ordered it with ribeye and chicken thigh, and the combination was incredible. Everything was sauteed perfectly with onions, tomatoes, and cilantro, creating that classic savory, tangy, umami-packed flavor Peruvian cuisine is known for. The meat was tender and juicy, the vegetables were cooked just right, and the French fries soaked up all that flavor beautifully. Served alongside fluffy white rice, it was hearty, soooo satisfying, and incredibly well balanced. You could tell this dish was made with intention and experience. We also tried the calamari which was another solid hit. And a first for me! Lightly fried, tender, and not rubbery at all. It was clearly fresh and cooked properly. It paired really well with everything else on the table and made for a great shareable dish. But the real star of the night was a dish that completely surprised my partner and I! It ended up being our favorite dish, and it was the Tigre de Leche. THIS was hands down one of the freshest, most vibrant things we tried. The citrus was bold and super lemony, in the best way possible. You could taste the lime juice, the chile, onion, and cilantro all working together to create something bright, refreshing, and layered. It was zesty, slightly spicy, and incredibly clean tasting. One of those dishes where every spoonful wakes up your palate. If you're a ceviche fan or just love bold citrus flavors, do NOT skip this. It is a definite MUST try. Another thing that deserves a special mention is their iconic green sauce. It seriously went with everything we ordered. Creamy, herby, and just the right amount of kick, it elevated every dish from the yuca and calamari to the Lomo Saltado. We found ourselves reaching for it nonstop. Seriously one of those sauces you immediately wish you could take home. The customer service truly elevated the entire experience. Fabrisio, the owner, was phenomenal! He took the time to personally explain each dish, walk us through the flavors, and even share the story of how his restaurant came to be. You can feel the passion he has. Not just for Peruvian cuisine, but for creating a welcoming space for people to enjoy it. Super nice guy, super chill, and genuinely down-to-earth. The whole place gave off strong family vibes, which made the meal even more enjoyable. Shoutout to Melissa as well, who was serving us. She was attentive, kind, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed. The service felt thoughtful and personal, not transactional. Over all we had the best experience, truly. Whether you're new to Peruvian food or already love it, this spot is a gem. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. We will be back and have already recommended this place to my family and friends! Thanks so much for having me. :D

So so good. One of the best Peruvian restaurants I've been to in LA. Clean, fresh, and super delicious!

I've had Peruvian food a few times before, so I was excited to have my mom try it on this occasion. She's very particular about her food. So I knew it would be a hard sale. The photos and reviews made Asumare look like a good choice. We ordered few things: Side salad - it was simple and came with a light lemon based dressing Pollo Saltado - Unfortunately the chicken was very dry and tough. The flavor was solid though Pollo Saltado lenguine - this was good, the noodles were covered in a flavorful sauce. But again it had the tough dry chicken Fried fish - The fish was light, flaky, and well seasoned. My mom thought it was fishy but I didn't feel that way. Neither of us are big fish eaters The food comes with bread and this yummy green sauce that tasted good on everything. It is spicy though for those who don't like spice you may want to avoid it. Portions are fair, with everything I ordered it was enough food for 3 adults and two kids. Parking is on the street. There is limited seating inside.

Hands down the best Peruvian food in the valley! I highly recommend this spot. I've been to several Peruvian restaurants around here, and nothing compares. This is officially my go-to place. The flavors are authentic and outstanding. I was beyond satisfied, and my family loved it as well!

This has by far become one of my favorite spots! It's a little small spot that you would easily miss in San Fernando if you weren't looking for it. Everyone working here is super friendly. Their ceviches are by far some of my favorite dishes on their menu! Get the Lomo Saltado you won't regret it! The green sauce is to die for make sure to get extra.

Found this hidden gem in San Fernando! The Lomo Saltado is very delicious, and the calamari with the red onion, and tomato mix super well together! I'm glad I gave it a try one day, and ever since have been coming back to get this meal. The service is great, and the staff is friendly. The owner has a great personality, and a great mindset. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant!

Husband and I had lunch here. It did not disappoint! It was a great food experience. Ceviche de Camaron is mixed with calamaris, fresh fish, sweet potatoes, corn kernels, topped with fresh onions. We also ordered lomo saltado and bistek apanado. I enjoyed the food! They were flavorful and one of the best places I have been. It's a small place by the San Fernando Downtown. The people are accommodating and the service is fast. 5/5 I recommend this place!

    Seafood tallarin. Good flavor.

We went in a Friday after work. The place is next to the street and there's metered parking with 2-hour limit. (It's free after 6:00pm and on weekends, I think. Please verify.) we got the seafood tallarin, lomo saltado, chicken fried rice and the calamari. The place is small, and could seat 20 ppl. It was only us and a gentleman at another table were dining, but the entire time we were there, seven or so ppl came in to pick up their orders. Over-all the flavor of the food was great, but we will skip the calamari when we visit again.

Asmara did not simply feed me, it redefined me. Each bite was a slow-burning revelation, the kind that makes you stare into the distance and whisper "wow" to no one in particular. I reached the last bite with equal parts joy and heartbreak. No leftovers, no notes, no flaws. I have been changed. If you need me, I'll be thinking about this meal and planning my return.

Review based off take out- absolutely love this Peruvian food place. First time I tried it my friend ordered from here as she lives close by. Was obsessed with the lomo saltado and ceviche as well. Fast fwd to now, I was craving some Lomo saltado and was heading over to her house. So I called in to put in the order and it was ready in 15 min or so. The place is pretty small and it's a little hole in the wall in the outdoor San Fernando mall.

Every so often I do love myself a good Peruvian restaurant, I was very excited to find one that had pretty good reviews around the area. This place is located on a slightly busier street and parking is available only on the curb. They do not have their own parking structure and parking on the street is with coins at the meter. We had walked in and immediately we were seated as the restaurant was pretty empty. This is definitely a hole in the wall that serves authentic Peruvian. The menu was pretty easy to understand however there are no prices. If you are curious about pricing, I do recommend asking what the prices are before ordering. On average dishes range anywhere between $18 to $30. We got a good combination of different dishes to try and we're satisfied with all. My favorite dish was the Jalea mix. Everything was seasoned to perfection and included a good combination of fried fishes. As more of a hole in the wall, don't expect too much of this place in terms of cleanliness and service. Overall, the food was phenomenal and the service was quite all right. My review is as follows: - Food: 5/5 - Service: 4/5 - Ambiance: 2/5

i've been WAITING to try this place for so long & so happy i did!! spoiler - went with a peruvian & he has given the authentic stamp of approval. ;p food: we ordered lomo saltado, ceviche, & yuca (yuca frita not pictured because we devoured it before the phone could snap a pic, sorry folks). the lomo was delicious & had generous portions of meat. well seasoned & juicy. ceviche was the right amount of tartness. fish was fresh & again, given generous shareable portions. yuca was hot & crunchy, crisp to perfection. parking: street parking only. service: service was fast, it was 1 person for the front & to take orders. indoor: the restaurant itself is fairly small with few dining tables. for some reason based on what i have seen on social media i thought it'd be a bigger place haha i would go back!! definitely in my top list of peruvian eateries !!

Do they have any good vegetarian options?

I can only think of Papa a la Huancaina and fried yuca. Fried plantains. I don't know everything on the menu but i think all the entrees have meat or fish.

Do they have aji de gallina?

    No,they don't.

I got a whole chicken with the sides and I decided to try the Peruvian ceviche. The chicken was good, seasoning was there. It was already precut for me so that's was kind. I was really looking forward to the ceviche and it was not good. The lime juice or the leche de Tigre was very bitter, and it just didn't taste good... Something was off about the ceviche, perhaps it spoiled quickly as my drive back home was an hour, i unfortunately had to throw it away because it did not taste edible. Service is quite friendly, and quick. I'd come give it a second try for the ceviche, maybe it was not the freshest batch or my commute was too long but I don't think food spoils that rapidly. Either way I definitely recommend the rotisserie chicken with the sides!
