Small restaurant located about 5 min from Olive View Medical Center. There's about 7 tables inside. Staff mostly speaks Spanish but are very friendly and service is good. Came here for lunch and ordered the lomo saltado ($11.50). They have fresh baked bread as an appetizer with the green sauce (no idea what's in it but it's sooo tasty and spicy), even gave me an extra piece of bread. The lomo saltado was served straight from the grill and was really flavorful. Generous potion size as well. Definitely recommend if you're in the area and craving Peruvian food. Parking is free in the shared lot in front. Pretty easy to find parking but I can see it getting busy during dinner time. They also charge $1 to use card and do not have glasses of water, only bottles. read more

Was hoping to discover a hole in the wall for good Peruvian chicken. Sadly when they opened their chickens were not ready. Starting disappointed I tried to stay pumped and ordered the lomo Saltado and fried rice instead. Both were good - nothing exceptional. Service was good- they served us fresh juices which were sweet but refreshing. A little turned off by hearing a microwave during meal prep and the cost. I've ordered the half chicken with two sides twice from here and each time it feels like there is flavor lacking. The meat is not super juicy and the green sauce that is included is too spicy that I can't enjoy it. Took a gamble and decided to try this place out right before closing. Called in a pick-up order for papa a la huancaina and ceviche de pescado. The young man who took my phone order was very polite and told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived a bit early so I waited a few minutes. While waiting I was treated with very good service, with the young man asking if I needed anything else and updating me about the status of my order. After I paid and got my food, I took it home and finally tried it. Both dishes were great! I was pleasantly surprised. Decided to give them another try while we had some laundry in next door. It has been a few years since our last visit and we were glad to see that the dining room wasn't the only thing that got an improvement. We ordered a lot of different things (I like leftovers for lunch the next day) starting with the Papa a La Huancaina and some plantanos fritos. The Potatoes came out so perfect and the sauce so velvety we were stunned, my wife even said this was the best version of this dish she has ever had. My plantains were also perfect, period. I got a fish dish which seemed kinda plain but after the first bite I got it. My fish was perfectly cooked over those amazing beans and next to that was pickled red onions and a pile of white rice. Before I took my first bite I was thinking the dish was going to be plain tasting but the rice had a definite citrus bite to it or maybe it was the onions, either way it was the perfect accompaniment to the fish and beans. We also got the chicken fried rice which was absolutely amazing (I think I like this fried rice better than Chinese fried rice)and we got a couple roast chicken dinners also. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and cooked even better, so moist and juicy. Overall the improvement in the food was greatly appreciated and the prices for what you get are very reasonable. My only issue would be from the service standpoint. My first issue was when we asked for water, they said they only had bottled water but could give us cups of ice to go with it (really is this anyway to treat a customer?) secondly our waiter was also our chef, lucky for us we were the only customers at the time but a table of 8 showed up as we were finishing up and customer service was non-existent with the poor guy slinging all the food and trying to take care of customers at the same time. The location for this restaurant is horrible because it is hard to find parking because it is in a corner plaza with other busy stores. However the food is tasty so it is worth it. When I got their, the restaurant looked like a typical Mexican fast food restaurant and their was nothing to really look at while you are waiting of your food because the walls are very plain. As I was looking at the menu, the cashier was making me feel uncomfortable because she just kept staring at me while I was looking at the menu. I felt rushed to pick what I wanted to eat. This place gets some what busy during the night time but the employess are very fast at getting your service. Some of the dishes they have remind me of regular Chinese food. They had fried rice and a type of chow-main. I ordered the Lomo Saltado that contains fries mixed with beef and vegetables and a side of white rice. It is very tasty and it satisfied my stomach. If you love to add chiles on your food, they have an amazing chile called Aji. Aji is a bit more spicier than regular Mexican chiles. I wish I new how they would make this chile so i can make it at home. This sauce is AMAZING and I highly suggest that you should try it. read more

This review will be written in two parts one for the service and then for the most important the taste. Service was great! Host was very attentive and took the time to answer questions. She even offered me some drink samples on things I've never tried. So I bought one drink I really liked! Place looks authentic Peruvian but the decor is lacking. Because the ambiance needs improvement I'll have to knock it down one star. I wouldn't eat there on the regular is what I'm saying. The food was really good! Warning - this is not a true Peruvian restaurant. Lomo saltado was bits of meat with lots of connecting tissue, a bunch of thick pieces of potatoes and sad rice. No sauce, like a true lomo saltado should have. We were not given napkins, or plates for bread. Service is not friendly, although owner is. But owner is in the kitchen. They have some idea on the flavors but I would not recommend. I was charge $0.50 cents for tap water, $4 dollars for 1/2 a cup if rice and a dollar to pay with a credit card. They said that the city raised their taxes and they are passing all the extra cost to consumers. read more

For the past few months I have been eating this Peruvian place and I've got to say it's one of the best ones. Las llamas smells so great when you first walk inside. You get the greatest whiff of Peruvian food, the smell is indescribable I cannot put together the words to describe it! You can taste the food just by the smell, it's the most amazing thing ever. If I could pick any place to eat it would be there especially because their service is amazing and they are so welcoming. The employees there are always so respectful and are always trying to do anything to make you satisfied. When you see the food you fall into heaven and you just want to have everything on the menu. The best part is being able to see the chef cook the food so you know it's made fresh when you order it. The outside is very plain but it sticks out cause of its big red letters. Not many people know about this place and that's probably the best part about it. It's very disclosed and when you introduce someone to it they fall in love. The inside isn't that big but they have everything very well set up. It's has a classic feel like an old diner so you feel right at home when you walk inside. You aslo get to see all the different dishes they have to offer there. All you hear when you walk inside is people talking and food sizzling. Everyone one in there is interacting with each other. Everyone loves their food there and best thing is that they talk English and Spanish so if you don't talk Spanish you won't feel left out or not welcomed. They welcome everyone as they walk in and always try to greet you. It's never quiet in there, you may think it's a bad thing but it isn't because it's such a good vibe in there especially that everyone is talking to each other and about good things. This place is definitely somewhere I will continue to go because of the quality of food. Not many places with fast service cook their food fresh when you order it. The customer service and cleanliness in there is top notch. The employees bring everything to you so you can relax and watch tv, they also clean up for you after. Found a long, black curly HAIR wrapped in the chicken of the Pollo saltado dish. I was so disgusted. I paid a little over 12 dollars and was very disappointed. The cook did not wear a hairnet and the cashier tried to give me the wrong change. I handed her a $50 dollar bill and she gave me $4 back. NEVER going back!
