Service was great. The chowmein was good as I remember. It was a bit of nostalgia. The soup was also good because the base is the reason I love Ocha.....we got the mushroom and chicken. The chicken both in the soup and the bbq chicken plate are the reason for the less starts. Chicken tastes old. It didn't have a good flavor. Both in the soup or the pieces on the plate. It's one of the best if not the best. The food is exceptional. The only negative is there is no delivery not on Grubhub Uber eats or anything like that! It's been years since I've been to Ocha. Last time I remembered it was decent. Passable. However, this time was nothing like the last. As soon as I walked in there was a fishy disgusting stench. I thought as I kept walking in it would go away, but boy was I wrong. It didn't. It leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Seafood soup came immediately, the rice and the teriyaki chicken. After about 25 mins passed we were still missing the rest of what we ordered. We finished whatever we got first, still hungry waiting for the rest of the food. So the service/attentiveness was a solid 1/5. We weren't check upon once if we needed anything else. we had to flag down every time. On to the food; the of the rice was cheap. Super dry. Everything else was meh but the Drunken noodles were pretty decent. Good flavor. Quality over all didn't match the prices. So I don't think I'd return. read more

So we came here accidentally but happy we did I haven't been to La Ocha since I lived in LA. So we get there bro it was already hot outside... going in here was like a sauna no ac nothing. We ordered orange chicken chicken chow mein sweet and sour pork mangoe sticky rice soda and Thai ice tea all coming out to 97$ the ambiance made me feel like I was in Thailand which to me was cool lol I'm sorry I can't escape the heat it was impossible to enjoy my food. Ocha Classic is a neighborhood favorite. I've tried a few Thai restaurants in the San Fernando Valley, but only a handful come close to its flavor pairings, freshness, and consistency. My go-tos are the Green Coconut Curry and the Pad Thai; the curry is heavenly with fluffy white rice. The restaurant itself is decently roomy, but can get crowded and busy on weekends or holidays, so I recommend giving yourself ample time. Service is good. The restaurant is family-owned, and gives off that vibe: a side of nostalgia, a dash of the 2010s, with exceptional food. read more

While the food varies from restaurant to restaurant they all maintain the original recipe. The feel and the look of the food is consistent. Ocha is a classic. My go to in LA is the original Ocha on Vermont off of 8th and James Wood. When I'm in the valley it's one on Van Nuys Blvd. Van Nuys Blvd is cash only which is weird af and inconvenient. Like I said flavors vary from store to store but the essence is there and I never leave an Ocha Classic not being satisfied! Cheers! Enjoy!! read more

Food here was once again amazing. The seafood in the soup was tasty, the rice paired with it was amazing & the Thai tea was the best drink. I would recommend this place to anyone & i can never get enough of this soup. Service was fast & the people there are very lovely & nice. The environment is pretty calm & there isn't loud music playing which i prefer it to be because i can have a good conversation without having trouble hearing. I love Ochas aka sopitas. I'm treated like a VIP I've been going there for 20 years plus.

This place is only 5 min away from my house and we have yet to dine in here. It was thanksgiving, we are all at home so we just decided to order to go and skip the turkey, lol! Yes, this place is open on thanksgiving and still there were people dining in. Our order included fried calamari, chinese brocolli with crispy pork, garlic shrimp, panang chicken curry, cran fried rice and pad see ew. All were delicious but I had better. They were ok, not the best but passed my taste bud, lol! Service was fast, I didnt have to wait that long for our food. Staff are pretty ok too. Price not bad. Very reasonable. This place is the best and has never let me down for family events. We usually have a group of six or more people, and some of us have shrimp and shellfish allergies. This restaurant does a great job of meeting dietary needs and is completely honest about substitutions. While certain substitutions aren't allowed due to the way some dishes are made, we respect that as it maintains the integrity of their dishes. Despite not being able to try some dishes, there are plenty of other selections to choose from. We always order a variety of delicious food, and it consistently comes out to be very reasonably priced. In this economy, finding a place that offers great value for money is crucial, and this restaurant excels in both quality and customer service. As a family with a mix of Mexican and Bengali heritage, this place is perfect for us. We highly recommend it to anyone. We've been to multiple locations, but this one is our favorite. I went to eat for lunch on 1/17/24 what a terrible mistake. The restaurant was empty when we got here. There was 2 tables with 2 people sitting and eating. the lady that took my order brought my food but old little mom didnt get any hers. 10 minutes went by and still nothing. I kept looking at the kitchen not trying to make a scene, finally the busser brought my moms food. he didn't know what was going on. The woman probably forgot to tell the kitchen to make my moms dish ( since they dont have a POS system) and sent the busser to deliver the plate of food. I ordered the Chicken coconut cream with green onions. very flavorless, and the chicken tasted freezer burn and old. My mom order Pad Thai with beef. which was rubbery and hard to the bite , it tasted like chewing on cardboard box. The waitress was not attentive at all. There were only one of 3 people besides us. I like this place!!! I prefer it over other places with similar presentations. I love the sea food soup they offer; it has this lemony flavor I love, and their rice is always yummy. Their fried tofu is amazing!!! With the peanut sauce! They offer chili oil, I've never been a fan, personally, but my mother loves it! They are quick to refill your water, although they do charge for water now. You do have to pay before eating, which I congratulate them for! Parking is a hassle, so I recommend walking there or taking public transportation or an uber. read more

My family and I been a fan of Ocha for years now and we've ate at this location and also the one in LA , today I asked my husband to order some Ocha and pick it up we ordered Chicken Fried Rice , beef and brócoli ( Chinese style ) & orange chicken & also Egg rolls ; sadly the fried rice ended up not even tasting close to fried rice it tasted like Mexican Rice and I know what Mexican rice taste like I'm Hispanic I was disappointed the whole reason why we decided to eat Ocha is For there Flavor If I wanted Mexican I Would've Cooked Instead . than we tried the Beef and Brócoli and the meat tasted weird even looking at it the beef had a strange smell we honestly ended up just eating the orange chicken , The Mexican Rice & The egg Rolls because we had no other option that was our family dinner for tonight . This place is open pretty late. I came here after a party one night. I ordered the seafood fried rice and the orange chicken. The orange chicken was delicious and came out super fresh. The seafood friend rice didn't really impress me. The dish was very flavorless. The rice didn't soak up any flavor so it was bland. The servers were very friendly and they even gave me a calendar for the new year. The parking lot is small so you might need to look for street parking. We dined at Ocha pre-pandemic a couple times and always had a great experience and tasty food. Service is not always the best (they never really come back after placing your order and bringing food out) but we never really minded as we usually don't have to ask for much as they always make sure to provide everything with your food from napkins, utensils, water, etc. It had been 3 years and we finally returned. Seafood soup and Thai tea were delicious as always but we also ordered chicken ramen noodles for the first time to try something different then our usuals, which unfortunately was not our favorite and would not recommend. I am extremely disappointed I've been coming to this spot for so many years it became my kids favorite but after giving it so many chances this time was the last straw never will I be coming back there is signs/banners/stickers of them accepting ATM and I believe it's been more than a year where it's cash only like wth remove all that asap I remember when pandemic was bad they would ask you to order pay in cash ONLY and then food order was placed it gets worst I found a live insect on my silverware when I brought up to the man's attention he got bothered and threw the plate to the other table and picked up a "new clean" set and gave it to me his attitude definitely lowered the tip the food was so basic no flavor so bland due to my silverware complain no one asked if everything was okay or anything was needed I had to holler a handful of times to get attention for some napkins and sauces on the side throughout the entire meal we kept our cool and patience gave no attitude but the older man with the glasses and face mask needs to get it together because he did the same to two different tables the attitude was ugly I will most definitely drive 45 minutes elsewhere from now on check out the Breakdown of items we ordered it's crazy we got the sea food soup white rice the combo chow mein with shrimp & orange chicken and two drinks one Coca Cola and one tai ice tea I was so done with them I didn't bother to ask what I was getting charged for. read more
