Excellent all around! I've been here twice. They have an extensive menu and generous proportions, all at a very reasonable price. Their sauce is delicious! My husband had the Milanese Chicken (one of several chicken dishes) and raved about it. I thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp scampi. Adorable little local Italian family owned restaurant hidden in Monesson. We had spaghetti and meatballs, wedding soup and spinach artichoke flatbread with chicken. The food was tasty, although the chicken on the flatbread was a tad dry and it needed something a little extra on top so I drizzled the dipping oil and balsamic vinegar on it and it was perfect. Loved the Lemon Italian cream cake, it said served with iced blueberries and wasn't sure what that was. They were just frozen berries but it tasted delicious! I do not give 5.0s but this place is close! Definitely 4.5. We went for a second time a few weeks ago for a date night. The fall specials were offered, and they sound delicious, but we opted for chicken based dinners. The restaurant is very inviting with a calm Italian vibe. The hostess, who may be the owner, and waitress were delightful, professional, and personable. They seated us as soon as they could, we had no reservations, and ensured we were happy with the table. The waitress went over the specials and took our drink order. We ordered water and the banana peppers with roasted garlic. HIGHLY RECOMMEND them. The waitress brought the appetizer and the made in house bread. Bread also great! We asked for another loaf. After the peppers, we had our chicken parmesan and chicken Florentine meals. Huge portions and also delicious. The sauces for both dishes were just right with just enough garlic in the Florentine, and nice thick marinara for the chicken parmesan. We both took some of our meals home. Having worked for some Italian restaurants, and consumed my fair share of Italian meals, I have to say this is one of the best places I have eaten. Food is great, portions are large, and prices are the same as everywhere else in the area. Belle Vernon, Elizabeth, and Greensburg included. Found this place on Yelp! after my daughter had a gymnastics competition nearby and we were looking for a place to celebrate afterwards. Overall, I was pretty impressed with this place in terms of food. To eat, we got the pepper appetizer and a selection of entrees. I didn't love the app, I wished it had sausage or something to give it a bit more zip, but the bread it was served with was delicious. My chicken milanese was AMAZING, legitimately some of the best I've had. I took off a star for service. Our server was friendly but forgot my order and had to come back and ask since he didn't write it down. There were also several times where we had to ask for things a few times until he remembered to bring them. We were seated on the patio which had a heater, controlled by a locked thermostat. Unfortunately this meant that we were either oppressively hot or shivering throughout our meal. These issues really detracted from our meal but the food itself was quite good, so I'm giving 4 stars. read more

We were looking for a place to celebrate our 25th anniversary, friends recommended this place. 1st off when we made our reservations, we noted that we were celebrating a special occasion. I am assuming this was never reviewed after the reservation was made. When we arrived, a high table was offered, but we decided to wait for another table. We were very disappointed in the seat we were given, A very small round table in a corner with 2 leather style chairs, cigar bar type seats. My husband and I were very uncomfortable and didn't speak up because they were busy. After we were seated our waitress took our drink order and brought out our bread with no plates or silverware, we had to ask for them. At least we can say the food was very good, but not good enough for a return. I want to be comfortable when I got to a restaurant and especially where I am celebrating something special. The place needs to remove this table and replace it with a regular table and pay more attention when people make notes when making a reservation. Because I this I just cannot give it more that 3 stars. read more

We went with 2 other couples, it was nice to be able to have reservations. We were greeted warmly and given our choice of tables. Our server was friendly and efficient! My hubby had the salmon, he loved it. I had the shrimp scampi it was good but honestly nothing special. The next time I want to try the gnocchis or raviolis. The bread was delicious! What a wonderful surprise in Monessen! Well worth the drive. Everything is homemade and fresh. As you start off with the fresh baked bread to dip in the oil, seasonings, and decorative balsamic glaze, to the amazing family meatball recipe, every main dish looks beautiful and tastes even better. The portions were so generous there was no room for the dessert but I'll make sure to go back and leave room! We started our evening with Manhattans and the very sweet, tart, expensive cherry really topped them off. Plenty of shaved Parmesan cheese, anchovies added to the Caesar taste. Portion was nice, but the lettuce was a bit dry. We could have asked for more dressing . Anyway, let me get to my Red Wine Braised Pork Ragu over gnocchi. I will be headed back just for this. I was in a big hurry to eat, and didn't take a picture. There was enough for three servings, covered with red , delicious sauce that was filled with the most tender pork, and covered with sprinkled Parmesan cheese. All this over gnocchi. Oh my goodness!!!!!!! Our table had two orders of Cacio E Pepe, creamy Romano cheese and black pepper sauce, similar to American alfredo, tossed with fettuccine noodles. My husband added blackened chicken. He felt the chicken was very good, but according to his definition of Cacio e Pepe, his dinner was just a little too creamy, although delicious. While leaving, my husband mentioned to the bar tender, a young lady, how good our drinks were. Her face lit up and you could tell she takes pride in her work. You can't help but fall in love with this quaint Italian eatery in the heart of Monessen where many Italian immigrants came including my own grandfather. It's beautifully decorated and everything is served like you would expect from an Italian restaurant. My favorite dish is Pasta Angelo and my second favorite is the Chicken Piccata.
