I've been earring at Felicia's for many, many years( since the Italian hall days) by far she is the best Italian cook out there! The meat sauce is very good, the veal and ravs are also delicious!! The atmosphere isn't very pleasing, but I'm not there for that, I'm going there for a great Italian meal, glass of merlot and good company. Have been here a few times, and have been pleased for the most part. It is definitely a small, "hole in the wall" (don't mean that in a negative... just very "old" feeling) place. Although my kids like it, I am not a "huge" fan of their sauce. It is definitely "ok" in my book, just not my own personal favorite. I am a fan, however, of their fresh veal cutlet, wedding soup and salads. My family also love any of their dishes with the home made alfredo. The only downside I have experienced is a lack of consistency when it comes to some of the service. Many times, the servers will forget to bring the bread with the meals, and I have always had to ask for my drink to be refilled. This could be because the servers are stretched so thin. Although this happens a lot, the service has always been "pleasant". They are known for their "free fried sugared dough balls" after the meal, but, they often forget those, too. Out of our four visits, we've only received the bread and the sugared dough balls once. They are definitely at least worth the try if you were debating on going! read more

Do not spend a dime here. But if you enjoy mistreatment, disloyalty,overly salted food and the worst and ignorant owners who act like this dump is the best choice for food. What, can't you read the sign, reservation a must. Only 6 people in the old smelling carpeted dining room n cafeteria tables with same chairs. The Steel Plate located nearby are by far the classiest choice overall in monessen. At least they respect their regulars and are welcoming. This dump ahem made a huge mistake n pissing off the wrong group. Especially the cousin of the state health department health inspector celebrated birthday regularly there. Well I went there and it says wait to be seated. We waited for about 5 minutes and no one came. It was very dark, almost gloomy atmosphere. I've ordered from DoorDash before and I'll say their food in my opinion isn't the best but it's not the worst. But I won't go dine in. When I go to a place like that I want to be seated not ignored. Like most of the surrounding area, this place looks like something that time forgot. The building is right along the main road and the parking is a little down the road on the right. The building itself looks like us was built in the early 1900s and not much renovation has occurred in the past 50 years. So you are left with a small, appears to be family ran, Italian joint off the beaten path in the little town of Monessen. The food was fine. We had wedding soup, gnocchi, meatballs and veal. The wedding soup was great. Not adding any extra but doing the classic recipe well. The gnocchi was unfortunately the weakest part. They are homemade but they rolled them out like a unwrapped piece of candy. A lump on the middle with two long tails on each side. This led to a soggy noodle that would be better if they trimmed the dough and used it to made for full sized pieces. Not a deal breaker but also not anything special. The veal was good. The meatball was tasty. The sauce was good but lacking something that would have made it great. We had the marinara. I'm wondering if we should have opted for the "meat sauce" as it seemed to be their main style. The service was fine but we were ultimately 2 of the 4 total patrons on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The waitress was polite and attentive. The ambiance inside was bare minimum. It was clean and orderly. However the you are left with a small room with plane tables and generic black seats. I think it could help if they had some better kitchen ventilation as the air was thick. I would go again. If you are a fan of Meloni's in Uniontown, this would be a worthy substitute. The city of Monesson was a busseling place in it's hayday, the 1950,'s. Now days it's kind of sad, run down, unkept. We wanted to try something different than our usual fare. We called a couple that looked promising, but they all were closing by 6pm or earlier. Felicia's Italian Restaurant popped up as a suggestion, we called, they were open until 8pm. Why all the restaurant's close so early on a Friday down that way is beyond our understanding. We drove down, the outside looks depressing,a beautiful building that has seen better days. The inside has changed little since the 1950's. The floors are worn, the walls dull. The Menu is small but sufficient, the servers, cooks, owner, proud of the offerings. Everything is homemade except the deserts. The SAUCE is fantastic, the chicken parmesan was moist and tender. The rigatoni was aldente the meatballs a good size. You can buy the sauce to go at $10 a quart. Service was fast and not over solicitous, prices were in the medium range. $12 to $18, per entree. We would definitely go back. It's an old Italian family restaurant,we're the owner and family cook, what is better than that. Get past the decor and location and give them a try. Oh and the Wedding Soup was great too. read more

Stopped in yesterday after an event at the library and was blown away. This is the kind of place foodies hope to stumble upon. First of all, it's in the lower level of the Italian Club, so you know it's legit Italian-American. We had the arancini, which were amazing. The sauce was fantastic. Went here for the first time today got the gnocchi and ravioli perfectly cooked home made. Gnocchi was so light and pillowy ravioli filling was delicious and flavorful the dough was perfectly Al dente how I like it. I've been here a few times. It's like stepping into the past. Food was really good! I had chicken parm with a side of gnocchi and my friend had a rigatoni special. We both enjoyed our meals. I will definitely visit again. I like the stepping into the past vibe, but some updates wouldn't be bad. Homemade everything. The owner came from Italy and she puts a lot of pride in her food. I have always liked coming here. Freshest salad with delicious dressing. My favorites include the lasagna, beef ravioli and Jason loves the veal cutlet. The building has housed an old favorite, The New Italian Hall and now it's carried on with Felicia. Oh, Felicia's...I wanted to like you. Not many restaurant options in this area either, so when you've got a terminally ill family member and you want to bring some food home because cooking on a damp, rainy, cold, depressing night just sounds exhausting..you kind of just want to go somewhere to get take out.... yeah. We got meat ravioli, cheese ravioli, gnocci, salads, bread, pizza, fried eggplant, and...that's about it. So yeah. A lot of food. Unfortunately out of alllll of the aforementioned, only the gnocci was any good. :( I also found a hair in my salad which totally grossed me out. Family members agreed it was not very good at all and that the tomato sauce tasted old/overcooked. Their cheese ravioli with alfredo sauce is absolutely incredible..BEST I ever had...in fact, I am craving them pretty hard now. Their wedding soup is good. I like the old building it sits in. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is sometimes the Tiramisu is not always fresh. It seems like it was thawed then chilled then thawed and repeated it looked pretty bad, like melted then frozen perhaps numerous times. That happened more than once when I ordered take out and more than once did I throw it away. And I mean they were OBVIOUSLY, VISIBLY I noticed many restaurants dump their aged, low quality, or carelessly prepared food to the take-out orders...why not? Less chance of complaints and returns, and its easier to argue the customer if they do go through the trouble to return it. I've been coming here for years, haven't been for awhile and it popped into my head on a lazy Sunday afternoon. I asked My family to tag along but they all want takeout and to take naps. I come in to the rustic old look of a club who had its glory days gone by, but its clean and smells of tomato sauce on the stove. I look at menu as I'm not sure why because I already know what I want. The same as always, gnocchi, salad with cheese, and provolone sticks. Just as the server comes over, I think for a minute I'm going to change my mind and order ravs ahh no who am I kidding, gnocchi it is. I order my provolone sticks (huge hunks of cheese dipped in some breading) and a salad with homemade dressing (which is phenomenal) and gnocchi. The server asks do I want soup or salad- and I say I already ordered the salad, and she says ok wait now I have to write this all over again. Sorry I got excited and ordered my salad first - I should have waited until asked (dummy me). Anyway she irritated me and I her as I ordered my to go order. But this NOT a bad review, just off to the wrong foot. My salad came, perfect, cheese sticks, perfect, gnocchi, incredible and some fresh bread, and of course I'm stuffed and take the rest home. And I have to have a couple free fried dough. And yes, I said free fried dough. Hot and fresh delicious. As a young child I ate at the old Italian Hall many times. I decided to go back to try Felicia's in which I heard good and bad reviews. The atmosphere brought me back to the sixties. It never has changed, but that was not for the better. Old, dated and kind of gray looking. The waitress was pleasant. The bartender came to light the dusty candle on our table and she was friendly. The salad was good! I ordered the one with cheese and anchovies and was very pleased. Fresh and tasty. Then the entrees came. The veal cutlet was tasteless with a slice of provolone cheese thrown on top quite sloppily. The spaghetti sauce tasted like dish water. That's the only word that came to mind. For $16.99 I expected better. My husband ordered stuffed shells which were quite ordinary and let's just say he threw out the leftovers upon returning home. So the two stars are for the staff and the salad. We won't be back but we tried!!! read more

Where do I begin...Felicia's is the mom and pop Italian restaurant that you would expect to find in an old town like Monessen. Everything is homemade and fresh. The salad dressing is one of a kind and delicious but everything here is so I guess it's to be expected. The dinner portions are filling, my favorites include chicken parm, shrimp pasta, and chicken fettuccine with broccoli. If you are planning a visit make sure it's on a Friday to get FREE fried dough.
