The staff was friendly, compassionate, and knowledgeable. In April/May of 2020, one of my dogs had a distended belly, so I took her in. After some x-rays and an exam, i was told she ate a few hair ties, which was causing her tummy to bloat and she needed foreign body removal surgery. They booked her for the next day for removal surgery. i dropped her off for surgery that morning a nervous wreck. The office staff, techs, and Dr. Delajani kept me updated throughout the day, 3 years later, we still use Green Forest and adore them, even if Martini has a reputation as the hair tie bandit there, I will continue using Green Forest Vet, especially after they provided great care for my dog in an emergent situation.

All the "BIG" vet clinics put you on a waiting list 3-4 weeks knowing the situation of the current condition. I called my brilliant person best board certified surgeon Dr. Infernuso at Animal Surgical Center on Ocean Side at the same day of diagnosis at 6:00 PM and the following morning at 7:30 AM I was scheduled for CT scan followed by the surgical procedure. I can't thank enough this doctor and his staff for all the care and support they gave me and my lovely Mishka. I was heartbroken, but the staff at Little Neck Veterinary Care couldn't be more kind, compassionate, and understanding. We decided to bring her home, and let her live her life as comfortably as possible. About a week later we realized that Bacon's health was declining, and that it was time to say goodbye. This was extremely hard for me since I had Bacon before my daughter and my husband. The staff were so kind, and made the process as gentle on us as possible. They created a memorial keepsake with her paw print in sand. They also included patches of her fur, and they made sure to include all of her colors. Not only that, they sent a beautiful, handwritten sympathy card. I know it's old fashioned, but it also shows that they care. That action took time, and they didn't have to do that, but they did. I will take my other cats there, any future pets, and I'll recommend other pet parents to this vet.

We've brought several generations of our dogs, who are important members of our family, to him for both routine & urgent care. He & his staff are smart, sensitive & extremely competent. They're always willing to accommodate special appt needs wherever possible. For instance, today we had an urgent situation with one of our Siberian Huskies. They were at their Patchogue Surgi-Center, which is not our usual office but yet his staff was quick to accommodate us. I wrote this review today to both thank Dr Kolbert and to address the several poor reviews seen on Yelp. They baffle both my family and me. Everyone I know who brings their adored pets to Dr Kolbert are more than satisfied and so are we. Highly recommended!

Unlike vets before him, he was able to get him on a medical regimen so the seizures stopped without the weight gain. I have a new puppy and they have been really awesome with her, they allow my to train her in the office during visits and lure her while she is getting shots so she has a great experience. Lastly, you learn a lot about your animals care taker when you have to put one down. They treated me very nicely and compassionately when I had to put my cat down. You don't forget those moments. They do run appointment only visits but they have two offices with late hours for working people which makes taking animals in convenient.
