Wow....i went here expecting what I've experienced many times before at Hibachi / Teppanyaki joints before. Service was fair, unless you want your drink refilled. So one of our friends said that Okinawa Hibachi was the spot we had to visit. I normally never give bad reviews where they won't have a chance to change the ratings to 5 star, but the service as Ms portions was really bad. I ordered the Filet Mignon med rare and scallops. When everyone's food came our friend said that the portions were smaller than before when he patronized regularly. I didn't have the teppanyaki chef that cooked my Filet Mignon and scallops in front of me but for some odd reason it resembled chopped steak and texture was not the same. When served I explained that it was cooked medium to the younger server. Then the older server came out and snapped at me. Saying that he cook was professional and that I was wrong. (Even though my meal was over $50.00 I could not get it served to my liking) the cook split the meat in half with his fingers saying that it's good. Soooo I just gave up and said forget it .... I'll eat it. She would keep come back asking if everything's alright and I would just nod so that she wouldn't bother, not realizing that I expressed that the meat was over cooked I believe in promoting local businesses ...and will return next time in town to try and raise this review to a 5 star hoping that she was just having a bad night before I arrived read more

Definitely NOT the hibachi experience you want in the Destin/FW area. Tried this place yesterday and was really disappointed. It started with the horrific smell as you walk through the front door. It smelled like dying fish. I think their fish tanks need cleaning. It's never great to start your dinning experience with an unsavory smell. The food was o.k., nothing special, and extremely overpriced. We've lived in the area for 2 years. Honestly, there isn't a phenomenal hibachi restaurant in the area. Osaka in Destin is probably best. I had read previous reviews (thank goodness) and specifically looked to see that gratuity was included in the check. They didn't give the receipt breakdown with the signature paper so it's not obvious that they have already included the gratuity. This seemed very shady to me. We were two adults and two children so it's not a typical large party that I would have even looked for it. Everyone we encountered during our visit was polite, attentive and welcoming. The only reasons for not receiving a 5-star review are that I have had better tasting hibachi steak at other restaurants and the added gratuity automatically tacked on to our small group of 3's bill was a little off putting. When we arrived, the hostess had us sit in another area, while waiting, and said the AC was out. I thought it was just in the front area but the entire restaurant was incredibly warm. So much, that we would choose a different restaurant next time. The food portions have been reduced greatly over the years while prices keep increasing. The hibachi chef was humorous, and the food was excellent. Chicken was extremely tender. Ribeye steak was slightly fatty but that's typical. The hibachi dinner came with clear soup, salad, grilled veggies, rice, and noodles (which were delicious). The noodles seemed to be cooked in yum yum sauce and teriyaki but I'm not positive. The workers can't speak English much less take my order. They don't communicate so we had multiple interruptions from different members of the staff asking us all the same thing. I'm a big international foodie so I can determine when food just tastes of poor quality and that was the case here. If you don't mind spending money on good quality food and dining, I would NOT recommend dining here. We should have let the ratings deter us but unfortunately we were craving hibachi nearby and were hoping the restaurant would prove the reviews wrong.
