We visited First Choice Buffet for dinner with a large party. This was my first visit and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Sushi was decent. Minimal selection, but ok for a buffet. I throughly like enjoyed the coconut chicken. This was my first time to have that dish. Pot Stickers did not have much flavor. Vegetable Lo Mein was quite tasty. We stopped in on Sunday night for some dinner. They were strictly enforcing social distancing and using hand sanitizer before entering. The food was all hot and lots of it seemed fresher than I had ever had at a Chinese buffet. They had a large selection to choose from. Chicken, rice, noodles, beef, appetizer items, desserts, sushi, etc! All of it! There were about 60+ things to choose from. Wow! I was surprised at the quality of food that they had available. A few of the booths/decor looked worn. Prices were also reasonable. About $10-11 for dinner most nights. They also have takeout available by the pound. We ended up here from the sign. We arrived one hour before close. The staff were all friendly. You have to use hand sanitizer or put on a glove to serve your food. I thought the food was very good for a buffet set to close in a hour. They even offered to refire anything they were low on to accommodate our needs. All the menu items were well seasoned and hot. They were quick to come gather your empty plates and refill your drinks. For dessert they had a nice spread and had a freezer of single serving ice cream. I've been meaning to try this place for a while and in June 2022, I finally did. Went during lunch time on a weekday. It was pretty busy. The staff was great. They had us seated in no time, had our drinks out within a few minutes, and cleared any used plates very quickly. The buffet offers a lot of choices. My favorite was the coconut chicken! There is a very good reason they are called FIRST choice, as their food always fresh, hot, comforting, familiar chinese favorites. The sushi selection is okay, but you will sometimes catch new, unique rolls. Regardless of the slim variety, the sushi chefs are incredible, sushi is always VERY FRESH and delicious! My personal favorites are the coconut chicken, green beans, button mushrooms, seafood medley, nigiri sushi, and california rolls. But truly, you can't go wrong with ANYTHING at first choice. Somehow, even their navel orange slices are better than any Ive ever had. I think many of the negative reviews come from people expecting a brand new, swanky, modernized chinese restaurant *experience*, and this is not that.
