First time to Destin and someone recommended we try McGuires Pub which was across the street from our hotel. My husband and I decided to walk across but 45 min wait so we walked around to see what else was around...well there is a McGuires Sushi! We decided to try it. As we walked in we were immediately greeted and sat at the bar. The sushi tech (?) assured my husband they can do bento boxes since he does not eat sushi Our bartender/server Chris was amazing. Very personable and informative of the area. Gave us great places to go see and just attentive. Sushi and Chicken bento was amazing. Great sushi in an unexpected location! We were walking past the sushi window after eating at Maguire's Irish Pub when one of the employees, Chris Hoffman, stopped us and encouraged us to come back for happy hour. He mentioned they offer four rolls for $6.95 each--hard to pass up as sushi lovers. We decided to give it a try, and we're so glad we did. The sushi was as good as any we've had anywhere, and we would absolutely come back again when visiting Destin and in need of a sushi fix. The family was going to go to Irish pub next door that is extremely popular. The wait was going to be forever with people sitting all around. Such an amazing experience at McGuires Sushi! We were immediately welcomed by James , one of our servers! He was such a nice person and checked on us throughout the evening to get what we wanted. We had some nice conversations with him, he made us feel like family! We got to meet the Chef... I believe his name was Arnell? He made us feel very welcomed & special. We placed an order on DoorDash and DoorDash messed it up at no fault of the restaurant. They somehow switched our order to pick up instead of delivery. We live in the next town over and we were unable to pick up the order. We called the restaurant and Chris was so helpful. He even offered to drop our food off on his way home, as it was almost closing. He went above and beyond & offered superior customer service, even though it was not even the restaurants error.
