I was really craving udon today and went into Domo because it's so close and we used to go a lot when I was a kid. I got Niku Udon (Chicken Udon) and two orders of the Sake (Salmon) Sashimi! The udon really hit the spot! It's flavorful and the noodles were springy. One order of sashimi is 5 pieces and I got 2 so there should have been 10 but looking at it, I got 9? Great dinner! They have a variety of options including non sushi items. The nigiri And sashimi options were a little more limited compared to some of our favorite places. Prices were fair and items were fresh. Our waitress was very attentive even with having a packed place. This place is smaller, with it being busy (Saturday might, totally understandable) it was hard to hear others in our party. Having a small, non sitting up baby meant no high chair also meant bringing the stroller, and I couldn't help but feel cramped and taking up a lot of space in the restaurant. Ate dinner here tonight for the second time. Disappointed to say it was not as good as the first time earlier this year. My husband and I each ordered the noodle dish with combo meats and veggies. I ordered mine with only broccoli, pea pods and mushrooms. The other person in our group got sushi. My husbands dish came out first. Then mine 10 minutes later and the sushi about 5 minutes after that. My husband's dish was cold by the time the rest of us got our food. My dish had broccoli and zucchini, no pea pods or mushrooms as I requested. I ordered a soda with ice. I got about 5 ice cubes. I asked for a refill and it had no ice cubes. Soda was barely cold. When we first walked in, I immediately noticed how good the food smelled. I ordered a Bento box with Teriyaki Salmon. The miso soup which was served first, had a lot of flavor and was better than most. The salmon was tasty and cooked just right, and the 4 California roll pcs. that came with it we're especially good. My wife and I tried Domo for one last time last week and it will be our last. Domo was our go to quick dine in for Japanese food for years. This past year it closed for a bit for unknown reasons and reopened with new employees and possibly new ownership (idk). The menu looked the same and they even added Filipino food to it. My wife's go to favorite is tofu agadashi. Since they reopened we have gone numerous times and each time we're told the were out of that dish. My wife complained and asked if they were ever planning on having it again and the apologetic server said probably not..She said that it would be nice to know in the future if you are going to stop serving a certain dish. We almost got up and left right then but decided to stay and eat anyway. My wife ordered garlic edamame and crunchy roll. She enjoyed both however the edamame serving was quite a bit less than in recent visits. I ordered qyoza and the teriyaki beef bento box. I received my bento box and the small piece of beef was half fat and the actual meat portion was so oven done and not sliced I had to ask for a knife. I had to saw through the meat with a serrated butter knife they provided and ultimately it was inedible. I informed the courteous server and he removed my plate and took the bento box off my bill. He was extremely apologetic about the food and advised there was a new cook in training. The location and atmosphere is great for us and we used enjoy coming here for years. So sad....oh and the last kicker, we were driving home and I also realized I never got my gyoza.... read more

We decided to try out Domo for our latest sushi adventure. Located in the Vons etc shopping center, there is plenty of easy parking. They have tons of options ob their qr code menu. But they were unfortunately out of the monkey balls ( my fav). We got the suggested crazy bombs instead which are similar but stuffed jalapenos which were very good. For rolls we got a rainbow, a baked lobster and also I enjoyed the Spanish roll and the firecracker roll. We enjoyed it. read more

Our go to sushi spot. We always get the Domo house and the dragon, and they're amazing every single time! We've also tried the Spanish, Santee-iego, Spider, and Ring of Fire - also really good! Having eaten here since takeout during Covid & I remember it being ok... Tried to make a to-go order tonight over the phone, 1st time I called, guy answered and I asked if I can place an order. He said, "Yes, but can I place you on hold for just a moment while I take care of this?" I said, "Sure"..... I waited on hold for 10min, still no answer, so I hung up. 5min later, I called back, he picked up the phone, then immediately hung up. Called back again, he answered this time, I asked if he was now able to place an order, he says, "No, we are putting a hold on takeout (unless you come in), we are backed up, but you can call back in 30min or we can call you back when we are ready.", I said, "That's ok! We go to Domo every other week, sometimes more! We love the food and the staff is fabulous! There's usually a Disney/kids movie playing on TV which our young children look forward to. I may give them another try as sit down not to go to see if the portions will be like everyone else's pictures. My experience: I paid $70 for the smallest sushi I have ever had and I've had a lot of sushi. You are better off going to $5 fridays at vons than to go here, you may actually get a chance to taste the sushi. My husband and I usually can fill up past full with 4 rolls but this place left us having to go somewhere else after wasting $70. I know inflation is a thing but charging such a high price for rice, seaweed and some crunchies (because there was barely any filling you can barely add that to the cost) seriously waste of money. On another note lets talk about taste. The lemon on the spanish was so tart and no lemon flavor but all acid so they need to rethink their source. I'd love to say the rolls were good but the crab was so little that it was unable to be tasted. The tuna in the candy cane was very metallic tasting and again probably should check their source. In the end all I tasted was roll 1. Spanish too tart 2. Candy cane metal mixed with crunchies (fun fact they use escolar as the white fish which is known as the exlax fish) 3. Crunchy all crunchies no filling to be found 4. rainbow very empty and most of the fish tasted the same... 5. Cream cheese wontons all wonton cream cheese, sauce was good. Very disappointed. I had been a customer for 5 years. My disabled son and I visited yesterday and were their first customers. We ordered 4 rolls @ $50 which should have been plenty of food. The rolls were much smaller than normal. The waiter stated they had a new chef. The manager came over and was dismissive of my complaint and tried to gas light me into believing that was the normal. He stated he could eat 4 of those rolls by himself and that we ordered wrong. As he and staff clearly spoke to each other about this we were delayed in being able to settle our bill. To top it off, staff did not assist my son who is disabled and in a wheelchair to exit the establishment. The food was average, the potions small and the experience horrible. We usually really love this place, but tonight they just have been "off". We were seated without menus, waited 10 minutes for a server to take our drink orders, waited a long time for our food but it was busy so we understood. Our server left their shift before we ever received our food and it seemed like no one took over their tables. Our drinks were empty before dinner came, they were never refilled, no one checked in to see if we needed anything and then we tried to flag someone down for 20 minutes to get our check. Food was bomb. Crunchy roll was the perfect consistency of tangy sweet and crispy savory that i was craving. Hot green tea was red hot and tasted amazing. I love restaurants like this. It's small, quaint, but most of all, the people are immensely kind and friendly. That's what really keeps me coming back. Yes, the food must be delicious but the people make you feel welcomed. I really enjoyed this place but was afraid that with our large party it would be a struggle and my brain has a hard time handling that with kids in tow but it was a delicious meal and lots of smiles from the server and hostess. They were sweet and attentive. The Spanish roll was so good. I love rolls with salmon and lemon. The bento boxes were very convenient. My kids loved the chicken katsu bento. Domo has been my go to for years. I heard about the entire staff being replaced and customers having issues. I thought I would give it a go anyways. Boy what a mistake! I should've gotten a clue when some customers inside looked upset and 2/3 of the restaurant didn't have food. Fast forward 1hr 5min. Still no food. We ordered 2 rolls and 2 hand rolls. Other customers were getting angry because no food was coming out. They were talking care of online orders and apparently one "big" 10 rolls online order. When I said I was leaving he said my order was coming up. He ran up to the sushi chef and he quickly put together 2 hand rolls. I was shocked when he set them down on the table because they looked like two rolled tacos! Even the waiter seemed embarrassed. Ended up walking out and unfortunately will never return. This is no longer the Domo that we all know and loved. read more

My husband and I eat here often We came in to place a take out order and the young woman taking our order was kind of rude to start but we just thought she was maybe having an off day which is fine. We placed our order for 4 rolls and tried paying with a visa gift card which kept declining. Not the servers fault but she wasn't being helpful. We asked to put it in manually because sometimes that works and she said no. So we were like ok whatever I guess we'll just use our credit card it is what it is. We placed our order and began to wait. We wait for over 30 minutes for our four rolls. As we were in there tables were coming in and ordering and getting food before we even got ours.... We understand being understaffed or being busy but none of this was communicated to us up front. Even after we asked after it had been 25 minutes of waiting no one said anything. We asked how much longer it'll be and the server seemed unsure and said oh maybe 5 more minutes. Didn't even ask the sushi chef The service is usually great but this really made us pretty upset.
