The food is good, I suppose, but it's not great quality. I've been coming here for a few years because it is close to my apartment and the prices aren't awful. but the quality of the rolls are abysmal. as soon as I pick it up (hands vs chopstick), the seaweed and the rice fall off, leaving whatever is in the middle as a chunk. I don't think I have ever gotten rolls from here that stayed intact when I ate them. the flavor is good but they are poorly made. I just picked up my order and I asked for just ginger and no wasabi. I didn't get any ginger. This happened the last 3-4 times I've gone here. It even says on the order paper on the outside of the paper bag for only ginger. Why do I keep coming back? It's close by. The rolls falling apart is annoying, so I just want other people to know that the quality is poor if they're coming here for the first time. read more

I may be a bit of a sushi snob since I try a lot of sushi spots, but this one was pretty average. I ordered the sushi lunch special ($13.50), which includes a California roll and five pieces of chef's choice nigiri. Good price, but the quality was middle of the road. The California roll had an unusually large amount of imitation crab that overwhelmed it, though I did appreciate the lighter amount of rice and the good avocado. The nigiri included one salmon, two tuna (I was hoping for five different selections), and two lighter fish that I believe were yellowtail and mackerel. The rice portions were nicely small, but the fish did not seem especially cold or particularly fresh. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall, not bad, just fairly average sushi. read more

So, the gals and I have been wanting to do a sushi boat for quite some time. But, I'm attached to the hip w/ a partner that does NOT care for sushi. So, it's a must that chicken teriyaki is available. Hana Sushi opens at noon/ weekend. It's a pretty busy shopping center here. Hubby ordered his chicken teriyaki (served w/ miso soup or salad & white rice). An order of fries and the best spicy garlic edamame I've had in awhile. *Even better as leftovers a few hours later!* Thank you to staff, who was patient with us and answered our questions regarding the sushi boat. We ordered the medium size (which is the smallest option). For a medium size- 8-10 rolls can be ordered. So, it was easier for us to order 3 rolls each. I had my handy dandy pen and notepad in my purse. I wrote down our 3 rolls of choice (mine were Sergio, Sexy and Tequila). When our "frigate" was delivered- we just Oooh'd amd Ahhhh'd! Our host did point out in order (R-L) the order of the rolls. Which of course, I wrote them down on the other side of my handy dandy piece of paper. My friend looked at me and said- "Jojo, remember this is not a race!! Take your time!" And I laughed! Because, this definitely was not a race! I already had instant regret wearing my denim Levi 501 button fly shorts! You know I had to unbutton the top two before the frigate arrived to our table! LOL Such a chill atmosphere. The Sexy roll was my absolute favorite out of my 3. Sexy roll: lightly fried spicy salmon, eel, avocado, masago, scallions, sesame seed & cheese topped w/ eel sauce and spicy mayo. Sergio roll: spicy tuna and shrimp tempura, avocado, topped w/ salmon, tuna, yellowtail, tobiko & spicy mayo. Eel sauce, masago. Tequila roll: shrimp tempura, avocado, and cucumber topped w/ tuna. Jalapeño, eel sauce, spicy mayo, & sesame seed. When the bill arrives- the sushi boat is broken down by the price of each roll! It was easy for us to split. And we definitely took leftovers home. I thought I was gonna have sushi the next day. But, I was wrong!! I had a second wind later that night and finished the remainder of my rolls and that delicious spicy garlic edamame. And after all of that- I would have been good on eating anything else for the rest of the year! All 3 of my rolls were terrific. I think I'm crazy for even saying this- but, I would definitely order another boat again! The presentation is gorgeous! The establishment is full of space with an outdoor patio. I have the California roll and the chicken with rice and was not disappointed. If you were into trying different beers, I would recommend the mango cart. My wife had the chicken tempura.
