This was my first time here. Husband and daughter have been here before on one of their father-daughter dates. I know my husband loves a restaurant when he wants to keep going back every week, possibly more than once a week if we would let him. Plenty of parking outside, and handicap accessible spaces located relatively close to the entrance. The interior of the restaurant is bright and clean. There are booths along the window walls, tables and chairs in the center, and we sat to the right of the entrance at a table along the wall with booth/chairs. There is a small seating area outdoors if you prefer. Like many pho restaurants, service was quick. We were lucky to arrive before it got busy. Our server was new, so he had to ask his colleague how to input a few special requests into the tablet, but we didn't mind. I was a big fan of the big bone pho and the yellow tail. Calamari was hot and crispy. Yakisoba was a nice change of pace. We are definitely going to incorporate Bamboo Pho & Sushi into our rotation of places to dine. It's also nice to have a pho restaurant to bring friends and relatives who live north of us. We can meet there instead of having them drive farther south or us having to drive farther north Accessibility notes: I mentioned the handicap parking being relatively close to the entrance. No steps to enter the restaurant. Plenty of tables with chairs that can be removed as needed. Table spacing was good. I was concerned about the pathway to the restrooms which are in the far back past the sushi counter, kitchen area, and drink prep area. To get to the bathroom, the kitchen wall creates a hallway with the exterior window wall, and just where it narrows, a cart for used dishes and trash is stored there. There is also a drink fridge placed near there. Moving the cart would be necessary for a wheelchair or walker to pass through. I happened to be using my cane that day, but I still had to side-step a bit. read more

Recently tried this sushi spot for lunch with my friend and we really enjoyed our food! The staff was so nice and attentive. I like that you have the option to order from a QR code or a person. Very clean with a large parking lot since it's located in a shopping center. Inside the restaurant they had a lot of seating both booths and tables. The rolls were big! Very filling and very good. If you're accommodating a party of people with differing preferences, I think Bamboo Pho & Sushi is a good restaurant to dine at. Parking is easy to come by and there is lots of seating. Super clean inside too. Staff was very nice and offered my little cousins ice cream after they ate. My family got a whole bunch of different sushi rolls including the caterpillar, rainbow, and spicy tuna rolls. The caterpillar roll was my favorite! Avocado and eel pair so well together. I included a picture of another roll but forgot the name (this one is so tasty though). I like how they offer sushi combo meals too. We also ordered one small house pho and one kid-sized pho. Honestly, I think it's better to order a large-sized pho and just ask for an extra bowl if you're dining with children who might not have much of an appetite. I'm glad we finally tried Bamboo Phở & Sushi the other evening, albeit for take-away. I enjoyed one of my favorites, Oxtail Phở (5/5 $22.50). There were five tender chunks of oxtail in one of the most flavorful phở broth I've enjoyed, including in Vietnam. IMHO it's best phở broth in San Diego. I'm not sure if the mango strips on the top were not ripe, or if they had been pickled or marinating in ginger. But it tasted better for me when I took them off, even though I love mango. My husband and I stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday, and it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. We got an uber eats deal from this place and I was super happy with my experience. When I picked up the meal the restaurant looked really cute and well-maintained inside. Bright colors. We had requested to leave some of the items out of the meal and they definitely listened and accommodated our requests which is always a huge relief when trying a new place. The pho was savory and the meats complimented it really nicely. I thought the bogo was a great deal because both my husband and I love pho (and eat a lot of it). We decided to check out this place for a noodle soup fix. Started with spring rolls. They were pretty standard. I ordered the wonton soup with filet . It was pretty delicious. Broth was beefy and flavorful. It was a decent size bowl. I couldn't finish. The service was good, but we were the only people in there mid afternoon on a Saturday so not sure how it would've been if they were busy. Overall pretty good, but also spendy for what it is. Two of our friends and my wife had the their special which is small pho with sushi, my other friend had chicken pho while her husband had the #1, I had the oxtail pho and the birthday friend had the sumo sushi combo, I would have given the a 5 star if not for the vegetable is too little for 7 people that I did not even get some bean sprouts, the service was really quick and it did not take long to get the food. The restaurant is clean, the workers are nice, and the food is good with large portions. I can't believe how HUGE their menus are. They have 2 full menus (1 for Vietnamese and 1 for Japanese). My family and I like to go here because of the great selection and food. Sometimes it's hard to decide what to get. We usually get pho, chirashi bowls, and some sushi. There's a nice little cluster of Asian eateries that have cropped up at the Highlands Village in Carmel Valley. Bamboo Pho & Sushi is one of the newer tenants with offerings of Japanese and Vietnamese food under one roof. The inside was clean and modern with an ornamental pink flower tree in the middle of the dining area. A special menu was displayed in front of the service counter while a couple of two-sided menu sheets, one for each type of cuisine, was given to me when I sat down at a table. There were over 30 types of pho on one page with the remaining pages displaying mainly Japanese grub (e.g. yakisoba, sashimi, sushi, nigiri, maki rolls, hand rolls). The number of choices was impressive for one kitchen to manage. I was in the mood for sushi so my picks were the following... * Eel Hand Roll * Scallop Hand Roll * Paradise Roll * Pink Roll The Paradise Roll had six pieces and was rice-less with an external wrap made of cucumber. The inside contents were sashimi (salmon/tuna), gobo, radish sprout, and soy paper. I usually like to order one of these kinds of rolls because it is healthier and less filling without rice. The Pink Roll was divided into eight pieces and consisted of spicy tuna and cucumber on the inside and salmon with dabs of spicy mayo on the outside. The heat was mild from the sriracha in the mayo. The two hand rolls were fairly ordinary in size and taste for the cost. The service from the waiter was prompt and efficient. He was curious why I was snapping photos of different items inside the restaurant. If this place wasn't so far from where I live, then I would consider returning to try one of the bowls of pho. For now, I gave a four star rating for my Japanese meal at Bamboo Pho & Sushi. read more

3-4 Stars! I came here with my grandma, my mom, and cousin! My grandma is actually almost a regular here. She enjoys it. We came around 2pm for lunch. The interior of the place is super spacious and clean. It's decorated simple but cute. They have lots of seating. A lot of condiments, utensils, and plates/saucers available as well. I wish they used real chopsticks (hard plastic) because the take out chopsticks that were given were rough and splintered. There's 3 laminated menus, front and back and they are all different from each other. It's a bit of a mind boggler to flip back and forth and shuffle through them. I think having it in a small booklet from would be easier to read. They do pho and sushi, but I would recommend to skip the sushi (rolls) at least. We ordered their Lunch Special and ordered 3 different rolls: Salmon, Eel, and California Roll. To sum up the sushi: T said, "the sushi was equivalent to old Vons sushi." - The Salmon Roll was mainly rice. - The Eel Roll had to be the most disappointing out of the three since they were quite stingy on giving eel. You'd think that the eel would be laid nicely on top of each slice, but it was actually inside the roll. And the pieces were very small...paper thin. The only part that had reasonable sizes were the end pieces. But even then, there was just too much rice and the roll didn't hold its shape at all. And sadly the eel sauce was quite thin on top-- my fav part of eel sushi! - The California Roll was okay-- but once again WAYYY too much rice. Onto the pho, my cousin and I shared a Large Bowl of their Pho Tai! Next time I'd ask for the rare meat to be on the side since it had already over cooked by the time it got to the table. The noodles were perfectly cooked-- not hard and not too soft. I really enjoyed eating this bowl of pho. It also had green onions and slivered white onions. The broth was good, it was light colored but flavorful. Not heavy. They brought us a plate of pho herbs: pho basil, beansprouts, lime, and jalapeño. I would have liked to see more beansprouts or at least another plate of pho herbs since 2 people at the table ordered pho. Overall, I'd come here again to try something else off the menu. Maybe some appetizers or another bowl of pho! My grandma enjoys their yakisoba. It's a cute spot, spacious, and great pricing. I had meatball pho, the softshell crab appetizer, and calamari. My grandfather had the fried rice. The pho was really good, the softshell crab was super delicious (get it with salad, the portion size is good, and the salad is delicious besides), and the calamari was a bit bland.
