While vacationing in Ocean City, I rented a house in Berlin. After a long day of fun in the sun, we headed back to freshen up and decided we were too tired to cook or go back out. Big fans of Door Dash back home, we decided to see what our options were here. SO glad that we chose Kaiju Sushi! Everything was fresh and delicious. The sweet potato roll was my favorite, and we both enjoyed the Vegetable Yaki Udon. Everything was also beautifully packaged. This place was a 10 minute ride from our hotwl in ocean beach. I have 2 sushi rolls and my youngest daughter got a udon noodle bowl, which she devoured. My oldest also had two roll. The service was wonderful. read more

The best dish here is actually the dolsot bibimbap which you can only get eat in. The takeout bibimbap is not nearly as good (no crispy rice, no hot sear). We did eat in once and take out once. The Japanese style ramen is pretty weak (tonkotsu, miso etc); but the kimchi ramen is fantastic. In summary, get the Korean inspired dishes, but get them eat in. The dolsot bibimbap is as good as I've had in Koreatowns and other places, strongly recommend that as the best dish. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Firstly, the restaurant is decorated beautifully and has a very relaxing vibe. Secondly, the staff and service are impeccable. The hostess was extremely friendly and accommodating. The server was prompt and attentive. The cooks are AMAZING at what they do. It's difficult to put into words how delicious the food actually was. I've eaten here a few times now and also had takeout. ALL of our food has been excellent. The Korean dishes on the back page of the menu are delicious and taste authentic. Their kimchi is awesome so make sure you ask for a side of that. The portion sizes are big, too. The sushi is fantastic. My favorite is the Salmon and Lemon special roll. We get it every time. A week at the beach and I wanted something good... something delicious... Kaiju is about 5 miles from the OC boardwalk and worth every bit of the drive. They have the cutest decor and is very clean. We ordered the pan fried pork gyoza, 2 roll special (California and salmon), and 2 black garlic tonkatsu ramens. Everything tasted very good. I especially liked the broth of my ramen - very rich, creamy, and flavorful. This is a must try restaurant. Friendly staff, great food, and affordable! Two notes for the restaurant - 1. I wish the presentation for the gyoza was a bit neater... everything else was presented beautifully. 2. Please bring out the ramen without touching the rim with your hands. OCMD is not known for Asian cuisine, so we had to venture to Berlin (about 10-12 minutes from the Ocean Gateway drawbridge) to get our fix. Kaiju is a Japanese/Korean restaurant (though it appears they're Chinese owned) with mostly ramen, sushi, and some Korean rice bowls. My wife got a poke bowl. I got a Korean stone pot bibimbap. Both of us had the same complaint...too much rice. Other than that, good flavor for both and the bibimbap (a Korean staple) was a reasonable approximation of what you'd get at a Korean restaurant (with a little less rice). Boys liked the ramen. Broth was mild and not too salty. There was a kid's menu, which is always nice. read more

Overall, great experience - we walked in on a Thursday at quarter to 9 PM, and were (albeit politely) told we had 15 minutes to order before the kitchen closed. Luckily, we had looked at the menu in advance and knew exactly what we were going to order. Staff was friendly and polite. The inside was very nuanced, with some Asian pop music playing on the TV (mostly k-pop with lyrics displayed, some of which had romanization too). Took my girlfriend here the other day and was very pleased with my experience. Our server Kate was a wonderful lady and gave us a great time. The service as well as the food was amazing. We started with a good seaweed salad and got the combo ramen dishes which I thought were very neat. Although I preferred the tonkotsu to the spicy miso, it was still delicious through and through! I finally ate at Kai ju for lunch, and it was worth the wait. Kai ju is a small restaurant located in the shopping plaza off route 50 in Berlin. Higher quality sushi and super fresh. We split 5 rolls. The restaurant interior is decorated so beautifully and so clean giving off peaceful vibes. I love the Japanese stoneware for the sake and ochoko cups. Low key karaoke playing popular music while we ate and read carefully. LOL Our server was so sweet she gave us 2 keychains (see pic) when we finished our meal with the same theme as the restaurant. My mom and I finally decided to try this place after constantly seeing it in passing and it was a great decision! I've been trying to find a good, authentic ramen place which is hard to come by in my area. My mom got the rolls and fried rice (which was huge!) she said the rolls were great, she played it safe and got one regular roll (California roll) and one special roll (phoenix roll) and she said she absolutely loved the phoenix! As for the vegetable fried rice, she said it had a little too many veggies for her, but overall it was delicious! I got the Sapporo miso ramen with chicken and it definitely hit the spot! Not too oily, not too salty, it had a good noodle/topping ratio! The chicken was nice and tender and the eggs were cooked to perfection! On top of that all the employees running front of house greeted us upon walking in and said goodbye as we left. Our waitress was lovely, checked in just enough to make sure that we were enjoying ourselves and was quick and polite. Definitely one of my new favorite restaurants! It's very good, but not amazing. I've been a few times and I will say their gyoza (steamed for me) is always excellent. Takoyaki is hit or miss but the sauce they serve with it is delicious. Cool new sushi/ramen place in Berlin. My son enjoyed their homemade ramen. My daughter enjoyed a sushi burrito, though it was a bit hard to eat, as it fell apart easily. I shared maki tuna rolls with the family. We were impressed with the freshness of the fish, especially the salmon! It melted in our mouths! My husband tried the spicy pork bulgogi. This was the only food item that was a bit underwhelming. We would have preferred it to be more grilled and charred. It was over sauced and a bit tough. Service was excellent! Our table was up against a little stage that looked like it was for karaoke, but I didn't see anything that advertised about it. House sake was average. My group of friends and I ventured to this place for a nice birthday dinner. Our server, who didn't want to reveal his identity, was incredible. The manager/host/whoever he was standing at the front was not so friendly, but he's irrelevant to the story. Our server was attentive and sassy. My friends and I are quite the "train wreck" as he says, but he knew how to throw it right back at us. Most of us were first time Ramen eaters, so we had lots of questions. Came here a few weeks ago to pick up take out, but it was so good I had to come back and add this review. Got the pork chashu ramen and a side of crispy spring rolls. The takeout system is so efficient for a place that serves soup. Instead of dividing the noodles into a flat takeout container and the broth into a tall cylindrical one, they provide 1 top layer which holds the ramen noodles and add ins, and a base bowl contains the broth. The food was SO good. Top marks for convenience (you're able to eat this soup on the road) and also for taste quality. The only issue I encountered was communicating my order over a phone call, she didn't fully understand me when I placed the order that I ended up calling back to confirm what she wrote down and ended up correcting that I wanted 1 order of 3 spring rolls (how they are listed on the menu), not 3 orders of spring rolls. read more
