Kara-age Calamari
Julian W.

A great place to try Japanese-Inspired cuisine. The Kara-age Calamari is some of the best I've had. Not overly breaded and still flavorful. The chicken was also great. The drinks are unique and the bubble tea is some of my favorite in that area. The servers are all really friendly and the food comes out quick. Lots of seating and it's never too packed. Highly recommend!

My family enjoyed dinner at this pleasant restaurant on the Route 1 corridor between Lewes and Rehoboth beach. We arrived on a Sunday evening at 5pm and did not have to wait. By 6pm, it was getting more crowded. Lots of pluses. First, the interior has a nice welcoming vibe and free parking is readily available in the shopping mall. Second, the table service was generally attentive. Third, my wife enjoyed the shoyu ramen while my son and I had the chicken katsu dish. Finally, the K-pop music in the background was soothing.

I'm in love with Japanese katsu. I've traveled to Osaka twice, Kyoto, thrice, and Tokyo twice. My most recent visit was less than a month ago. I'm very familiar. I've had the real deal. I was hoping that I had hit the jackpot today and could have the flavors I love the most. It was not even close. The chicken katsu was disappointing. Lacked salt. Needed a little bit less cooking time because it was dry. The rice and cabbage were flavorless. I thought the breading tasted like they used a small bit of shake and bake. Really didn't love it. The katsu in Japanese restaurants is moist and juicy. They use fatty cuts of pork and chicken thighs also are more juicy when frying. The breading is panko and very flaky. There was no flake. It wasn't light and juicy. The breading has a light hint of salt. Probably dusted with a fine grained, high quality salt as soon as it comes out of the fryer. I know I'm not in Japan. I think they can certainly improve on the recipe and quality of cooking to get this closer to the real deal.

This was my first time here. I used to enjoy ramen often during my many business trips to Japan, especially Ippudo in Fukuoka, Kyushu, Japan. I was here solo for lunch. I arrived a little after 1 PM on a Friday for lunch. Only one other table was occupied, when I arrived. I was seated at a rear table 13 on the left across from the bar. I enjoyed my black garlic Tonkotsu ramen for only $19. I also enjoyed a side order of bakudan spicy paste for $2 to add to my ramen, because I enjoy spicy ramen. Two large thick pieces of pork were included in my ramen. Japanese ramen pork is usually a much smaller thin cut of pork. My ramen was very filling, because of the abundance of pork. I was barely able to finish my ramen. My total bill excluding gratuity was $21. My server Ionut R. M. served me very well. I will return here again for more ramen.

Anime decor, Vegan Japanese curry, soba noodle salad peeking in, and the remains of the tofu poke bowl. All dishes were A+ work.

This food is ridiculously good! I am sad we did not find it until now. We had just about all the Vegan starters plus one of the vegan base Ramens (shoyu I think) and the vegan Japanese curry. I would go back and get it all again tonight! Service was fast and attentive and his recommendations were spot on. I just had some of the leftovers for lunch today and reheated the curry might have been even better! The decor is all about anime and the bathrooms are awesome. Seriously, my wife said if I don't get her a toilet seat like that then I don't really love her. They are heated!! HEATED TOILET SEATS!!

Considering there aren't many noodle spots, let alone ramen, in Lewes and Rehoboth Beach, I was really happy to get a chance to try this spot. It's located in a shopping strip. Upon entering, we were blown away because we didn't expect to the interior to look the way it did from the exterior. Lovely decor, total vibe and took us to a different place that didn't feel like we were in a shopping strip. Service was impeccable. Our waiter was Ben. He was kind and friendly. And knew how to bring kid-proof utensils for us. Tonkotsu Ramen - it's okay. Not like the ones in NYC but for Delaware, we'll take it. Always nice to have this option. Broth was good. The pork slices are huge and worth it but takes time to chew. Plenty of ingredients in the bowl and makes it worth sharing. Bubble tea - it's alright. Taro was good and the boba was okay. It's a large size so good to share. The frozen beer was delicious. Overall ambience, vibe, service and food made it an enjoyable family experience. The seating is comfortable and love their k-pop dedicated bathroom walls.

Absolutely delicious! My partner and I were on vacation and stopped by this cute restaurant for lunch. I had the spicy miso ramen and a banana bubble tea. Both were fantastic. Service was friendly and quick, and the interior is adorable! Very Japanese inspired!

Stopped by Miyagi Ramen as a party of four, and we all left with no complaints. The menu was extensive enough to meet all our tastes. We had no complaints about the food, and actively enjoyed it. Service was great. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was very cute, and I would love to visit again next time I'm in the area.

Halfway consumed spicy miso. Very good.

Have they brought back the $10 ramen special for the 2018-19 winter season? And if so, what day of the week is it?

The seafood blends into everything and is the star but do not discount the details and sauces of each item to make it truly unique. There's zings and pows and delightfulness in addition to the huge pieces of scallop and salmon cake. The sense of richness is brought to every plate you don't want to stop eating. Do not sleep on their cocktail offerings! Strong drinks with strong mixed flavors- I got the silly blue drink with the blinking light inside and it was hilariously fun but also VERY tasty, tangy, and wonderful to drink alongside the food. I don't know how they manage to keep a cozy sense of special romance along with fun camaraderie but it's something unique to take notice and highly recommend to enjoy!

We stopped in about 1-2 hours before closing so when we were seated, they informed us of the last call timing for ordering food, dessert and alcohol. The lighting is dim and romantic for sure. The music was a vibe (we overheard it was just a "lounge" playlist but it was a good one! The lightning could have been better - it was a little flashy at times for dinner. When it was time to order, we were stuck between 2 appetizers and ended up taking the waiter's recommendation on the crab Rangoons and are so glad we did. Best we ever had in our entire lives. Made with real crab - makes all the difference! They were soft with a light outer crunch. Perfect consistency! 10/10! I ordered the Pad Thai (slightly less spicy) and I'm glad I did. Our waiter was very informative on how the spice scale here worked and we were appreciative of that! The only issue we had was that it seemed like due to coming later in the evening - the servers were kind of rushing everyone along. They were helping eachother bus tables, take checks, etc and in doing so ran our card for another tables check. The bartender was able to void it in time but they were not super apologetic about it. Again, they were very nice but I think their main concern was just getting out of there at a certain time. We had one of our best meals of the week here and will definitely visit again in the future.

Thereafter, the food on the "Asian Fusion" menu sounds great, but leaves much to be desired. More confusion, than fusion. Dumpling Special is a cool notion (why not save a few bucks?). But, when it arrives without ginseng slivers, nor a spoon for dripping the dark vinegar into the removed top knot to mix with the beef soup within the Xiao Long Bau, it becomes apparent skill is lacking in the kitchen. It doesn't help that these dough pouches are commercially bought and not made by knowing hands. The Singapore Black Pepper Crab bowl was sure Szechuan spicy enough, but had so little crab that my crustacean loving wife turned on her phone flashlight to find some. They were ground so small that they were nearly invisible, but could be slightly tasted by their mild sweetness. Just not enough substance to balance the other ingredients. My Cumin Lamb Ho Fun was likewise deep into the heat and looked good with the fat noodles mixed throughout. However, once again the kitchen's lack of deftness appeared with too many tough, stringy and fatty pieces of lamb that were unpleasant and overbore the generally decent quality of the rest of the dish. From my experience, that only happens when attention isn't paid to the texture of the meat when slicing. Cutting lamb against the grain is a no-no. So, even though I enjoyed the Moon Door entrance, the Bodhi (Enlightenment) name and all the on point Asian decor, it was disappointing that all that spirituality stopped at the kitchen door. 2.5 Shakyamuni-less Stars.
