So, I had blood work done about a mile away, therefore fasting, and I had been to Dom's previously. IN SHORT, I NEEDED COFFEE!!!!! Stopped in, very busy place, great vibe. My server, Julie, was great. Brought the COFFEE right away. I also ordered a western omelet, home fries, and rye toast. Julie kept the COFFEE coming. The food, considering the crowd, came quickly. Delicious! The omelet was probably the best western omelet I ever had. Three eggs, overstuffed w sauteed onions, peppers, diced ham, and melted cheese. I estimate 8+ months pregnant. Perfectly cooked. So good. Home fries lightly spiced w onions. And the COFFEE kept coming to the point where my baby blues were starting to turn brown. I left feeling pleasantly full, and definitely CAFFEINATED. Great food, great service, fair prices. The food was very good as ordered came out quick and fast. The coffee cups are so small!! And it was awhile before someone came by and asked if we wanted a refill and I think only because we moved our empty cups toward the edge of the booth. After we were done, it took longer to get our check than to get our food. The waitress kept going by and acknowledging that we were waiting. And yes it was busy but we could see her giving people checks that finished after us. Also as summer comes along think about maybe adding some ice coffee to the menu. Good service, great French toast, nice local diner Came here because of a local news program placing this location as its top seed. Decided it was time to make the trek and give them a try. Coming in, place was busy. Lots of people and families getting food and it took a while for someone to seat me. Eventually did manage to get a seat, and after perusing the menu I saw two French toast options that caught my eye. I asked the server out of the apple fritter or granola French toast, which was better. She recommended the granola French toast, stating it was their famous dish and was really good. That was the last time I saw my server. Most of my interactions happened with every other staff member. In a way, it's efficient to have the entire front end staff covering all tables. The trouble being that if you needed something you had to flag someone down and tell them. It's easy to fall through the cracks if you're a small party or a single cover. The coffee was topped off multiple times without asking, which is good. The French toast is very well executed and pretty tasty. They didn't use overly thick bread, but that's good because you don't need to soak it as much. The granola was similar to corn chip crusted French toast in that it gave the toast a distinct crunch. It's not as crunchy as the corn chip version, but still really good. I did see the owner make rounds and talk to the other tables. It's good to see an owner with passion making sure that everything goes right. When it came time to settle, I had to flag down another server to get my check, then again to actually pay at the front desk. It's a great location for breakfast, and I can see why people would love a local gem like this. For my experience this time around, they were swamped which lead to a less than perfect experience. Fellow Yelper Rich B is always leaving reviews of places I want to try and he did it again with Dom's in downtown Windsor. I was headed up to Northampton MA on an October Saturday morning. My wife and I got to Dom's around 9am. It was hopping but not so much that we had to wait for a table. The menu has everything one would want for breakfast but if you know me, it's all about savory breakfast. Usually if I see a crab cake benedict on a menu, that's what I'm getting. This one was very good, generous and inexpensive compared to other breakfast places, at $16 for the dish. I wish I ordered my home fries well done but they were tasty, if a little underdone. My wife had a Western omelet and she said it was just ok. The onion pieces were kind of huge. She LOVED the one bite of my breakfast, that I shared with her. The staff is very welcoming and they bop around helping every table, which is nice. Cool spot, definitely check it out. read more

Third time is not the charm, one star down unfortunately. I ordered two egg whites & bacon. The sourdough toasts & grits were as good as before but the egg white & beacon were both undercooked compared to before. The beacon, still soggy not crispy, was a huge letdown compared to last time I had it. They were busy, but I don't think this is completely due to being pressed for time, likely also different cook different styles. Next time ask for egg white well done & bacon crisp, see if that'll get back to where it was before. read more

I was sat pretty quickly and waited on without delay. I didn't have a lot of time, headed to the airport. The coffee was meh. I ordered the big breakfast and was excited to try the variety. The bacon seemed like it was cooked way earlier and the sausages were a little undercooked. Ordered eggs over medium and they were perfect, just the right amount of yolk. Lots of potatoes but a little chunkier than my preference for yolk soaking up. The pancakes were very overdone which is probably the most disappointing. You really couldn't get enough syrup on them to make them moister. Nice little local place, friendly service but not likely to visit again based on the food. read more

If you are staying near or on your way to Bradley in Hartford, Dom's is worth the detour. Dom's serves breakfast and lunch, but the menu is broad and has some interesting items including lots of Benedict's, homemade hash, and special pancakes/French toast. Husband ordered "The Eatery" : a bit like of everything including eggs, sausage, bacon, French toast or pancakes, toast. I ordered veggie omelet. The omelet was prepared more like a crepe, with a thin egg coating with lots of sautéed veggies inside. Absolutely delicious! The place has a small town, homey atmosphere. Service was on point. The only reason I'm down rating this is because the ladies bathroom was really, really old and floors were dirty. It Didn't even have a hook on the door to hang your bag and had the smallest old sink I've ever seen. We continue to love Dom's for breakfast and even breakfast for lunch. Darlene was again our server, as she was five years ago, and as then, she was very attentive and kind--like when I asked NOT to have Canola, and she found out they do use a blend. But she had the cook come out to talk to me and he agreed to cook my Eggs Benedict in butter only. Wow. How accomodating is that! Joanne is the hostess, and she is busy, but friendly and very good at her job. Darlene was our server 5 years ago, and she was superb. So was the food. We meet for consults at this eatery and are never rushed (we leave appropriate tips for our 2 hour meetings), and the very wide menu choice of food is wonderful--omelete made with butter, and fresh ingredients, a kitchen that is responsive to questions, great service, and comfy seating. I was all set to give Dom's a 5 star rating, however the coffee held me back. We love to go out & try new places for breakfast. From reviews, Dom's sounded great. And it really was very good - would definitely return. Lots & lots of booths. Clean, friendly place in Windsor next to a grocery store. The food was really tasty. I had a cheese omelette & opted for the grits. Since it was a cheese omelette, I didn't get cheese in the grits. And the grits were good! My husband had an omelette too with the hash browns. Made with red potatoes, they were quite good too. Service - 95% of the folks were so nice, always around to check on you, see if you needed anything . 1 server we encountered --not so much. The coffee: 2 comments- 1. Cups were so small. But, as I said above, there was always someone around to refill. 2. I like my coffee strong. And this was pretty weak coffee. (At $2.59 ) Didn't think coffee is that expensive that having some better quality coffee or at least making this stronger, would make this place awesome - 5 star. read more

I'm almost ashamed to admit that my first-time dining here was recently. My bf and I were looking for places to dine on a Saturday morning. And wanted something different than our normal spots. We checked the oh so trusty Yelp app and decided to give Dom's a try. We walked into to a packed establishment, and I was a little hesitant with Covid still running ramped. But we were seated in a corner away from the crowd and it put my mind at ease. Once seated, we perused the menu and were delighted to see so many options. Both of us were extremely famished that morning and opted for the Dom's Hearty Hash. Our meals arrived in a timely matter and the portions were HUGE. Dom's is a Treasure. The crowds attest to its success. The breakfast and lunch menus are suspiciously long, but I have yet to find a disappointing choice. The Rachel, with corned beef, is excellent, and their Patty Melt is the best I have ever had. I was skeptical about ordering a salad, but they won that too. My first visit to Doms's Broad Street Eatery was not pleasant. My mom and I went for breakfast after church. But I can assure you that I have revisited Dom's and I have nothing but love for Dom's. I can not count on my hands how many times I have been to Dom's since my first visit. I'm impressed with the breakfast menu. I love the veggie egg white omelet with the home fries. Good breakfast/lunch spot in the middle of Windsor center. I had been once or twice before when visiting my dad. There is usually a wait, but it goes by pretty quickly. The service has always been fast and friendly - no complaints! They offer regular breakfast fare with some "extras" that you might not find most places like grits and kielbasa. I like that you can easily customize your breakfast. This last trip, I got 1 slice of french toast and a side of kielbasa. If I had had 2 or 3 slices of french toast (which are also options), I would have been stuffed and annoyed if I had paid more for food I couldn't eat. My brother got the mexican omelet sans olives and it was delicious (I had to have a bite, of course). It had chili, cheddar, guac, tomatoes, salsa... all the good things wrapped in egg and served with toast. Hallelujah! Father got a simpler breakfast, but he loves his grits, so into the eggs, they went. A restaurant that makes good grits gets a thumbs up in my book! Cheers to the host from last Sunday. We love Don's. As one of us grew up in Windsor, we have been so blessed to have this hot spot nestled in the center of town and owned by the DiBella family. Don's son Jason is at the helm of this ship and he goes above and beyond for it to steamroll ahead into the future. The staff is consistent; It's so nice to come in and not only see a friendly face, but to also be able to catch up feel as if you're eating in your home away from home. Today we ordered eggs over medium, with sausage links, wheat toast and home fries; a Buffalo chicken wrap with no tomatoes and swapped blue cheese dressing for ranch; and the Irish Benedict. The sausage links were cooked perfectly as were the eggs. We can't get enough liquid gold when the eggs are cooked to perfection! The Buffalo chicken wrap is a staple that's always satisfying when it's made our way. The Irish Benedict was AMAZING!! And cooked by Jason himself! What we appreciated most was the way the Benedict was carefully assembled-the English muffin wasn't soggy and the Hollandaise on the side allowed for custom condiment placement (excuse my light swirls of sauce on the poached eggs :-)) We had one little hiccup and Jason took care of it and the only reason why it's worth mentioning is because it demonstrates how important his foodie family is and how he goes above and beyond to make things right. read more
