While I appreciate the unique selection, the prices were pretty steep--likely due to tariffs, logistics, and convenience. There was only a couple of customers on a weekday lunchtime, so it was quiet. Since I make monthly grocery runs to Chicago suburbs, I ended up getting my specialty ice creams there instead. I also browsed their hot food bar but didn't find anything that appealed to me. There's also a small cafe attached where they sell baklava and other sweets. On the plus side, the location is very central with plenty of parking.

I've tried some of their beers and they've been OK. Like other Aldi stores, this one has been recently renovated so it's much nicer and better organized. For newcomers, it's important to remember to bring a quarter for the shopping cart and tote bags since they don't bag for you at checkout (you can also buy recycled or plastic bags there). And if Aldi doesn't have everything on your list, there's a HyVee conveniently located next door.

The selections there isn't impressive but after a while, you will get used to going there and you won't need other big grocery stores anymore. We go to Aldi three out of four times. I love the fact that every week is different in aldi. They have special sales run each week and you will never know what you find there. If you still aren't an Aldi fan, give it a few weeks, after seeing the difference in your receipt, you will start to like it just like I did. :-) Happy saving!
