My friends ordered the same thing, but with milder sauce, and they also added links for I believe $5. They do make it to your liking, and I chose the extra spicy. If you like spicy HOT then you will enjoy it. Overall a wonderful experience, and a special thank you to our server Cici. Can't wait to return to this hidden gem.

Both of them have been battling food poisoning this entire week after eating here. To add insult to injury the service was terrible and confrontational! When they mentioned that the food tasted bad they were confronted with a "So, what do you want me to do about it?" The trash waitress had the nerve to insult them by insinuating they were after a free meal? Fix your trash food and fix your non existing customer service. Maybe, if I call the city and let them know what goes on here the problem will get fixed. At least it will help other people from getting sick. Don Chato's is a gem! We tried this Mexican spot based on a friend's recommendation and were so glad we did. The staff was incredibly nice and attentive from the moment we walked in. Our server, Ilda, was amazing; she was so helpful with the menu and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Our other waiter was also fantastic, helping out wherever needed. Very friendly staff and great food! Tried their Sunday brunch and it is delicious where you can get omelets made any way you want and get $1 champagne! You do need to order the omelet from your server but it is included in the brunch. Sausage, bacon and homemade waffles. Love being able to watch football and have great food at the same time! We had been wanting to try the new El Tarasco in Palmdale, especially since we remember the…read moreoriginal location in the San Fernando Valley/Sylmar area. Unfortunately, our first experience was pretty disappointing. From the moment we walked up, the restaurant didn't feel very inviting. There were fingerprints all over the front doors, and from the outside it almost looked like the restaurant wasn't even open. When we walked in, there was no hostess or anyone at the front. We stood there for about five minutes with no one coming to greet us. We could see employees and customers through an opening in the back, so we eventually waved someone down. It was another several minutes before someone finally came to seat us. Once seated, the restaurant was very dim and the lighting could definitely be improved. The biggest issue, however, was the service. There appeared to be only two servers working the entire dining room, and everything was extremely slow. It took a long time just to get our drink order taken, then another long wait before anyone returned to take our food order. From the time we sat down until we left, we were there for close to two hours, with a lot of that time spent simply waiting for someone to come by. The chips and salsa were actually pretty good. Our server was also friendly and gave us some helpful recommendations since it was our first visit. We ordered the molcajete with fajitas, shrimp, chicken and carne asada, a quesadilla, and the pulpo salteado. The octopus itself was really good and probably the highlight of my meal. However, the sauce was placed over rice underneath the octopus, so the lemon-garlic sauce soaked into the rice, which I personally didn't enjoy. The quesadilla was also a big disappointment and wasn't good at all. My husband's tortillas never came with his molcajete, and no one came back to check on us or ask if we needed anything. I really wanted to like this place, especially because it's a newer restaurant in the area and we need more good Mexican restaurants in Palmdale. Unfortunately, the extremely slow service took away from the overall experience. I understand that having only two servers for the entire restaurant can make things difficult, so hopefully this is something they address as they get established. There were definitely some good elements. The chips and salsa, the octopus, and our server's recommendations but based on our first visit, there is a lot of room for improvement in both service and presentation. I may give it another try down the road to see if things improve.
