I have been to this establishment 6 times expecting different results, butbalwyas find myself to be disappointed. Pros: Good food and good menu selection Cons: Irritable Staff. Have been reviewing for ages, first time here post Covid. Our server was Becky... a lovely, friendly young lady well versed in the menu and wine list. My wife prefers everything crazy-make-your-ears-bleed spicy. We asked for the hottest hot sauce... the chef ( Steve D) brought us bread and a sample of something he put together that was much hotter than the menu offerings... a beautiful balance of crazy heat and amazing flavour. The French Onion soup that Chef Steve D created was by far the best French Onion soup we have sampled thus far in our journey. Nachos with pulled pork were fantastic... but the homey, friendly conversation and attention from Becky and Chef Steve D are a sure fire win... an understated venue but given the chance, the staff and the food will impress. The coffee had a really good flavor. I really enjoyed my breakfast. My toast had some pretty delicious butter spread over. My son loved their hot chocolate and he finished all his breakfast wich it's usually unusual. The service was ot the fastest but reasonable. I was hoping for more coffee since it was good but did get offered. They were not that busy eather but in general the food was very good. read more

This place is disastrous!! Our child's chicken tender was raw and uncooked and the pizza was burnt to a crisp. The staff seemed confused and not properly trained, just an overall mess. The onion rings were next to impossible to eat. Not to mention the iced tea was watered down and tasted like water with a drop of iced tea.. first time here. Wow was it horrible. Our server was on her phone the whole time. All we did was get 2 vodka sodas. We wanted to play pool but parents with kids they had no control over we there and trying to break things and screaming. the Bar didn't even have all the games on.. we had to ask for the leafs game and Instead of having the raptors playoff on they had (paramount) station playing of 50% of tv. our bill for 2 drinks came to over 20$ because they charge for the shot and then 4$ for mix per drink.... Grapes would not be proud Don Cherry's at the Beacon Harborside Hotel is a sports bar with a large menu that makes you wonder how can they offer such a selection of items when the place is empty? I felt compelled to ask what to order, hoping that the waitress would guide me to what was routinely available with a skeleton crowd. So my guest and I ordered the Canadian sandwich which was basically a clubhouse sandwich. And it was OK. I'm glad we ordered an item that would be hard to mess up. However the chicken was very dry and overall the Canadian, the most popular item, would have scored a solid 6 out of 10. I can't imagine ordering some of the other items. The interior is a bit run down and has seen better days. There are many TV's that still seem to come out of the 70's. Our waitress on the other hand was attentive, cheerful and definitely improved our experience. Maybe they should have a few of Don's old suits on the walls. A few new TV's and a basic "freshening up" would also go a long way. read more

Wing deals are the best. The wings here are great. Small sports bar that plays most games. Great customer service. Two stars because the other food is pretty bad. Don't order fries. They were undercooked. Poutine with undercooked fries should be a crime punishable by death. Burgers were flavorless and boring. Great spot for wings and beer. Skip everything else. read more

I wish I would of yelped this place before going. I'm at Niagara Falls for the weekend and came down for apps and drinks to the restaurant in the hotel we are staying. What a fiasco! The drinks were terrible. Worse than bottom shelf! The food was bad too! And the service wasn't great either. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars it might still be a bit to high, let's start with the fact the booths were old worn out and dirty, the food it self had no flavor what so ever the only good thing about it was it came out hot but it was burned so I don't think they had much of a choice the manager on shift had no and I mean no people skills I was holding a menu and he walked over and literally took it out of my hands and did not even speak you wouldn't even know he was an employee if he was not behind the counter, there was an added tourist tax that the waitress took no time to explain , in all I would not recommend this place save your money and your time stay away !!!!! read more

I just keep getting disappointed with the food here. I have a 10% discount from the hotel but it's useless since there are other taxes I have to pay like DMF and HST. The food is mediocre even the wings. I've tried the mild wings, chicken wrap, some waffle nacho cheese that's a local fav and the burger. My best recommendation...go elsewhere and make sure your food equals the money spent. Try the Lundy strip and go for fast food if you wanna keep it cheap. At breakfast, after enduring mis-prepared food and spotty service, we were held hostage for 30 minutes waiting for our bill. No exaggeration, the waitress kept saying that she needed the manager to approve some discount she wanted to make to our bill because of all of the other problems. After asking about the bill 4 times, we finally just left our estimate of our bill with the cashier and left. Between the slow service, screwups, and being held hostage for the bill, we lost an hour of time we wanted to spend at the wineries. This sports bar is attached to the Ramada Plaza hotel. First of all, it's huge. Plenty of seating inside and out. We caught them at 11pm, so it was a limited menu and only two people on the wait staff (a bartender and a server). It took a while for us to be served--we ended up grabbing our own menus--but once we were served it was cool. The waiter was friendly and attentive. I had the classic poutine and my friend had the calamari. Both were good and pretty good portions. Nothing fancy. Just a good place to grab a bite, a drink, and regroup. read more

Well I ignored the warnings and sat down in dons den. I am well aware my 10% coupon will be swallowed by the commie taxes here in Niagara Falls (17.3%! WTF is this NFLD?) and Ok the much ballyhooed cheese sticks arrived and they are five breakfast sausage sized portions of havarti in deep fried spring rolls. 2 minutes for embellishment! We have ordered the chicken parm (risky) and the buffalo wings (easy peasy) and I can report the chicken parm was good for portion size but the noodles had to be sent back as they were cold. My wings came with lots of sauce as I asked for and come carrots and celery which makes a difference so I was happy. A follow up drink order kinda took a while for a beer bucket but hey this is a bar first restaurant second. My wife did notice the two other tables in our area each had a complaint of some sort. I got a Groupon deal for my trip to Niagara Falls and I am so glad I did. The waitstaff are very friendly and willing to go get ketchup for my son to dip his Garlic Bread in. This place is atrocious. The food is revolting. A pancakes or French toast entree comes with nothing at all on the side, and for the price, it really should. But maybe it's best that it doesn't because the potatoes and meat are gross. We got a 2 for 1 coupon from the hotel and even so we ended up paying $23 + tax (we got a tea and potatoes as a side; still shouldn't be that expensive). We stayed at the Ramada which is attached to Don Cherry's. I can only write this review on the breakfast though, what a fiasco! The place was completely unorganized. It was seat yourself, which is fine, but nobody came over to see us for well over 15 minutes even after I talked to someone. I was actually giving it 5 more minutes until we left. The breakfast buffet they offered for $18 was not worth from what I saw. We ordered off of the menu for just that. If it wasn't for the 2 for 1 coupon we received with our room, I don't even know if we would have done that. Booked ahead as we had a large party but didn't seem to matter much, service was slow. I ended up going to bar for drinks as the wait staff seemed overwhelmed. I ordered wings as I thought that was a safe bet in a sports style bar but I was pretty disappointed. My son and I shared 2 lbs and somehow they managed to find 2 lbs without one single drum wing. As well, the wings were puny , very substandard. We had probably 20 + people and everyone seemed disappointed with their food. I typically notice the little things about a place , and this location had low end condiments ( French's Ketchup & PL tartar sauce ) , this typically speaks volumes as the account is buying the cheapest product, as opposed to the best quality product. I cannot believe the Ramada Plaza even promotes this restaurant attached to it. We're guests staying for a few days here and we decided to get breakfast at Dons Cherry for the morning. I completely wasted my money there. We had a voucher for two. As soon as I walked in, another guest in the dining room whispered to me, "you're not going to like the breakfast buffet." I ignored it because everyone has different taste in food. The server said it was self serve and we can sit where ever we'd like. Upon approaching the breakfast bar, it looks like we were eating fu**in scrap food. They could've replenished the food bar especially with an hour left of breakfast hours. I wish I took pictures of the pancakes they offered. They were the size of US quarters. It was a real disappointment. We wouldn't recommend any guests staying at Ramada Plaza to eat here for breakfast. Especially not for $12 a head. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. We were staying at the Ramada which is attached to this restaurant. Me(36 weeks pregnant), my husband, my sister, brother-in-law, and they have 2 girls (1 year old and 4 year old). We got in late and were really hungry so we decided to just have dinner here since its right downstairs. Me, my sister and kids got there first, the place was dead. Just two older men sitting at the bar, and a whole bunch of staff. Instead of seating us in the dinner area, they sat us in the bar, but fine, they just mopped out the place so it was wet. Husband's came shortly after along with the baby stroller. I don't know who the man was, maybe the owner? But as soon as he spotted the husbands with the stroller, no greeting or anything he just told them "I don't know where you guys are from, but here in Ontario, you cannot have kids at the table and order alcohol." My husband told him we are from Toronto..." The man didn't seem to care, just kind of gave that "oh well" look. When my husband told me that, I was like wtf, and we got up and left. Why did he assume that we weren't from Ontario? And why can't you order a beer with dinner, with your kids at the table? I am very big on customer service as I believe it makes a HUGE difference. I tip well if you exceed expectations. This restaurant didn't seem too keen on wanting to serve us so why should we waste our time and money on them? read more

Was there today after shopping at the outlet mall and do not recommend anyone go there. Usually, we are very easily pleased but this was The worst food I've ever been served in a restaurant. We Left most of it on the table! Chicken fingers had hard, knuckle like things in them and salad was dripping in dressing with stale croutons. My husband couldn't even get the meat off the cold wings that had a strange taste to them! We paid bill and left the food. When it was mentioned to staff we were told "I'll let them know" - whatever that means! Service was awful as well. It actually deserves a big fat zero!
