Had the best tasting shots everrr in this place. We got the pineapple upside down cake shots and blue Hawaiian shots. Bartenders were also friendly and took their craft seriously. We drive from Dorado to San Juan in search of a cigar bar to hang out and enjoy an afternoon . This is NOT the place. The cigar selection is pretty small . You actually see it all in my pictures. The shop itself is pretty small. This is a quaint shop, grab and go. I am a huge cigar fan however I always let the shop tender give me their spiel. This Helps me gauge if they are knowledgeable themselves or just pushing over priced product because I'm a woman. This was a bit of both. He if course ignored what I said I was looking for (gift for a recreational novice smoker) and went right to their most expensive product. I did buy one cigar for myself. Flavor and burn time were both pretty good. However, the "hurry up and buy" mentality coupled with the limited selection will make me not come here again read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find a a nice smoke in their Corona Grande. Well wrapped and even burn. Medium body. Don't shy away from a local cigar. Been around since 1506 grown in Bayamon. Fairly priced. Not at the tourist shop prices. If, like me, your wife is out shopping, do yourself a favor and stop in for a rest. Peaceful environment. Great articulate knowledgeable stager. I was pretty bummed when I came here because I went away out of my way to come to Old San Juan just to visit this iconic shop. I checked the business hours and arrived well within the hours they were supposed to be open and found that it was closed in the middle of the day. I checked back a little while later thinking that the employees may be on a lunch break, but no luck. It is easy enough to change business hours online and I would hope that they do that in the future. read more

I only bought their cigars, but found the selection good and the pricing acceptable, given the local cost of real estate. I would go back next time I am in Viejo San Juan. I love this place. It was a very cool cigar bar in town. The guy working gave us some samples of their rum and those did not disappoint. I loved the fruity rum. He was so knowledgeable about cigars and gave us a quick lesson about the differences in cigars. The lights are dim and the doors are open so it's not stuffy from the cigar smoke. Really hard to even call this a cigar bar or lounge. Literally had two bins of Don Collins cigars and nothing else

Unfortunately, this little boutique cigar shop had the best cigars for a few years but started going downhill recently. Since 2015, I had been buying the pyrimid version. The cigar was smooth front beginning to end and a real value for the money. The latest box I ordered however was infested with tobacco beetles and was wrecked. To make matters worse, I had placed these in my humidor and had to completely disinfect all my other cigars and the humidor itself. When I tried to contact customer service on 3 separate occasions, detailing the problem, silence. Apparently no desire to correct the problem. It was a good 4 years, but I will be buying these no more. I would encourage new buyers to avoid this company who obviously places no value on their legacy customer base. As a replacement, I have found that El Mundo del Rey is a good alternative. read more

A nice little shop for PR-made cigars. Definitely a cigar store rather than a cigar bar, but you can smoke a stick and have a beer or a cup of "moonshine" in several flavors. I liked the tamarind but they also have coconut and passionfruit. The Don Collins cigar I had was good and well-made, but not in the upper ranks of Padron, Liga Privada, Fuentes, etc. But, it was also less expensive. I cannot say enough about the service my friends and I received at Don Collins even though they were understaffed during our visit. The person that helped us did an amazing job of informing us of our cigar options and I cannot recommend the infused rums they offer more. I'm really looking forward to coming by during my next visit to Puerto Rico to try the rum flights and maybe some coffee too! read more

TOURIST TRAP: Sold us a bottle of Pito Rico for $30 saying it was rare and could only be found there. Later found it at the local liquor store for $13. Told it's ok quality. Cigars are subpar. It's probably safe to assume they're cheap cigars with the companies label being passed off as the finest "only found there." It's a complete tourist trap. Venture into the city to buy stuff. Avoid this place and many like it in old San Juan at all cost. read more

I had made a point to go to Don Collins in Old San Juan because I wanted to support local PR-grown and rolled cigars, and this place did not disappoint. A great selection in a beautiful and almost personal humidor sideboard, that felt as if I was in a collector's home instead of a storefront. They also have 100% PR coffee, whole bean and ground, and I cannot wait to try it, it smells so good! Then I found out about the rums they have a partnership in producing, and oh boy, you want to get in on these - you cannot buy them anywhere else. I had a sample of the lime infusion and loved it, and the gentleman assisting me mentioned that the ginger-infused was particularly good with Coke. SOLD. I'm looking forward to smoking one of my new cigars tonight with a sip of a ginger-rum-and-Coke. Also, my helper really enjoyed talking with me about places I'd been to before and made some suggestions for local fare, like a panaderia I hadn't heard of. Locals know best!
