We had our usual Latte but they have so many choices and truly authentic Puerto Rican coffee. They also offer breakfast and brunch. Their staff is very friendly to all the tourists and locals. My sister got their iced mocha. She likes her coffee sweeter than I do but she still really liked her drink too. The reason I'm giving this place 4 stars is because all the tables were a bit dirty. It wasn't busy when we first walked in but we still had to wipe down our own table

I initially ordered it to enjoy in their alley, so I was told I can pay when I leave. I was there mid September and as much as I wanted to enjoy sipping my latte in the alley, it was super hot and stuffy. They could use some fans. Plus, it was taking forever to have the latte brought to me. As such, I went to the front to let the staff know I'll take it to go only to find him giggling with some friends. I guess that's why it took forever for me to get my drink. The latte itself wasn't bad, but considering the cost and the useless wait time, I would've gladly passed on this coffee shop.

I am usually not a an iced coffee drinker, but I savored every sip of my drink. The mango pie and pecan tart were also delicious. Overall, I highly recommend Filtrado as a relaxing stop in Viejo San Juan. The service, drink, and ambiance were spectacular and I can confidently say that this is near the top of my cafe list!

Top notch bartending! We didn't eat, but we hung out for a bit in the cozy bar section. The bartender was clearly very passionate about his craft, and he made a phenomenal carribean take on a Manhattan. We also got to try some of the Mavi soda, which is highly recommended if you enjoy root beer! read more

We ordered a beef pastelillo (empanada), a sandwich called bocadillo (IYKYK), lattes, and an egg scramble that came with a side of cloud bread (pan sobao). Everything was delicious here, again like most places you can share the breakfast except for the beef empanada. I ate half my sandwich and took the other half to eat on the way home. The ambience is nice, the staff is very friendly and attentive. The place is clean and there are plenty of tables and seating available. The chicken restaurant next-door, which they also run, was not open yet. I am definitely planning on coming back to have breakfast yet again and also try the chicken place next door. Enjoy! Ps. St. Germain Bistro Bar happened to be right across from our Airbnb, and honestly it felt like we got lucky. Even though it was late, they seated us right away and helped us pull together two small tables so our family could sit comfortably. My kids were starving, so that alone was a huge relief. The portions for the kids' pasta and chicken nuggets were a little smaller than expected, but the flavor and quality were excellent. You could tell the food was made with care. I ordered the onion soup and the fried cheese with guava dip and wow. Absolutely delicious. The guava dip especially was incredible. I also had a mojito that was perfectly made. But what really made the night unforgettable was the kindness of the staff. My son had forgotten his inhaler and was having a hard time adjusting to the humidity. He was coughing a lot and clearly uncomfortable. Vianca noticed right away and went out of her way to help. She brought over honey and encouraged him to take a little shot with ginger and honey, then brought hot tea as well. She even suggested things like putting socks on him and using Vicks when we got back. When I mentioned that my kids are half Puerto Rican and their abuela already swears by those remedies, she just lit up and said, "Well you're home then, you already know what to do." That moment really stuck with me. The warmth, the care for kids, the genuine hospitality. It's exactly the kind of Puerto Rican kindness people talk about. The kitchen is small, so service can be a little slower, but it's absolutely worth the wait. The food is great, the drinks are great, and the people make the place special. This sandwich had heavenly soft Mallorca Bread buns (a local sweet bread) filled with creamy egg salad, a soft hardboiled egg, ham and a basil aioli. A delicious way to begin the day.
