The food was amazing and as fresh as can be! We got everything- tacos, carne asada fries, tacos, and a burrito and they were all delicious and made perfectly. The lady at the register was patient as we deliberated and the food came fast and hot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a fun restaurant with awesome Mexican decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This place is so good and relatively inexpensive. We got four tacos for two of us. Extremely flavorful to the max. I tried for the first time a gringa taco which has fried cheese. It was so good and I'll get those again. Very friendly service at the front of the store. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This location is huge.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll have to come back for taco Tuesday!

What I love about this place is that it doesn't pretend to be anything but what it says. The tacos are excellent. The place is simple. The staff is always very nice. The atmosphere reminds me of taco shops in San Diego. I've eaten a ton of stuff here, but I'll review what I've had on this trip: Carne Asasa Gringa - 9/10 - Great taco, love the melted cheese and I love there is salsa out to just add as much as you want! This is my go to at Don Joaquin's. Asada Fries - 10/10 - this is a new edition and it's wonderful!!! I love the fries, crunchy, but soft, tons of meat, love the sour cream, and I like to dump a bunch of the guacamole salsa on it! It was a pleasant surprise to find this time! Try it! Pro-Tip - get the Gringa version of whatever taco you order. I'd never had that before coming here. It's my favorite!

Service was average. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself was clean and spacious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was ok. Came asada was good. Carnitas were wet, I prefer them with a crispy crust in the outside. Lengua has da good flavor. Cabeza was ok. We also had their horchata, it was pretty good.

Don Joaquin is always great! The gringas are the best thing on the menu in my opinion. We ordered takeout this last weekend and unfortunately the Al pastor gringa didn't have any pineapple, as it normally does. It was disappointing as that adds so much flavor to the meat. Hopefully next time will be a better experience.

This place is so good! Food is very affordable. If you want legit good street tacos in Utah I highly recommend it. Service is you walk up and order. It was fast and easy. You can sit inside or you can take your food to go. It's clean and I like that they have a solid sauce bar with great options. 3 different salsas, pico, mango pico, spicy onion and some pepper, cilantro & onion, radishes. Everything you would want for your tacos. I ordered the carne asada, al pastor and chorizo. It came in a combo with rice. Rice had good flavor but there were some unfinished pieces. The carne asada quesadilla was delish but I would just order more tacos next time. All delicious and flavorful. Serving size was generous. The Al pastor is *chefs kiss* Carne asada fries were also so good! I'll be back.

Came back for a second time to try other menu options. Ordered the quesadilla with al pastor and a large horchata, which if you didn't know, is mandatory. It's not written anywhere. It's just standard. You have to get horchata every time you visit this place. It's just that good. The food was prepared super fast, like last time and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. They were busy cleaning empty tables and ensuring the condiment stands stayed stocked and full. The quesadilla didn't miss. It was every bit delicious as their other menu offerings. I can't stress enough that you have to be careful of the pineapple salsa. It's got some heat! Overall, great visit again. Looking forward to their new location opening in *drum roll* Saratoga Springs!!

This place is hopping. We hit the end of the lunch rush hour and being Taco Tuesday it's probably even more busy than normal. The line didn't take too long but the cashier did catch only 3 of my 4 tacos. No big deal, I wasn't bothered enough to go back in line, even when the line was non-existent near the end of our wait. The tacos are nothing to rave home about but the Taco Tuesday pricing of 1.29 a taco is pretty good and I was satisfied after finishing the 3 tacos I got. What we got: Asada (grilled flank steak) - 3* Pollo (grilled chicken) - 4* my favourite meat Chorizo (pork sausage) - 3* Aguas Frescas - 2* this one was interesting. We think it was strawberry but to me it tasted like a melted store bought sugar cookie, the kind with pink frosting.

Probably the worst street tacos I've ever had. Bland, poorly seasoned and overall uninspiring. Hardworking staff, bad food

Our server was a very kind young man and took good care of us, but with the quality of the food and the price, I really wouldn't suggest trying. The fish tacos are fried (and probably frozen from Sysco), the chorizo tacos I ordered were burnt to the point where it wasn't enjoyable to eat. The pastor was honestly really good though. My wife enjoyed the enchiladas, but again, $15 for the plate we got just seemed agressive and inconsiderate of the customers. The restaurant itself was nice enough, not particularly dirty or clean. The door leading to outside seating was locked, apparently we couldn't eat out there. It's not the worst I've had, but the value for price is insanely low.

Step inside and you will find a beautifully decorated space with an open kitchen greeting you at the entrance and a staff that is genuinely enthusiastic about the food they are serving. Ocotillo specializes in the cuisine of Sonora, Mexico, a region known for bold meat and seafood dishes. They also offer a daily brunch menu that is worth planning your weekend around. We ordered the tres leches pancakes, a triple stack that delivers exactly what the name promises. Bathed in a three milk mixture and topped with fresh berries and whipped cream, moist but not to sweet. The Sonorense combination was equally impressive. Arrachera steak strips, chilaquiles made with poblano chile, a tamal de elote, and two eggs. The arrachera was excellent and the chilaquiles were crispy, which is exactly how they should be and not something every kitchen gets right. The menu is long enough that choosing something different next time will be a genuine challenge. Omelettes, chilaquiles, brioches, and other specialties give you plenty of reasons to return. We are already looking forward to exploring the lunch and dinner menu. Slightly more expensive than a standard breakfast spot, but the generous portions and the quality of the ingredients justify every dollar. Five stars without hesitation.

I the tortillas weren't really cooked or heated through very well and there was literally no cheese. When I flagged down the young man who seemed to the shift, he very politely told me expensive and they were cutting back on it. When I showed him my taco with literally 2 to 3 tiny shreds of cheese on it, instead of the cooked cheese shell that I was accustomed to, he was like "oh whoa that's not enough!" no kidding. Additionally, the meat was overcooked, kind of crispy and crunchy as opposed to being tender or juicy. We each got two tacos, we each got the bird and my husband got a Memphis and I got fleeing Californian. None of them were up to smoked taco standards. I tried to leave a review through their website and what I got was "Sorry this seems like Spam so you can't submit this review." How to lose a in one visit. This would be the way. But I'm sad because they really did have something unique going for them, very tasty. Very intriguing mix of flavors. I will say, this is NOT fast food. They make the food fresh to order so do not expect to have a fast drive-thru. Additionally, we ordered a side of rice but the nice gentleman at the window told us that as they were cooking the rice, they decided after doing quality control, it just wasn't up to par with their standards. So, he offered us a refund on the side of rice and they filled the taco salad with all the other yummy stuff. We appreciated the honesty and would rather a refund than to be sold yucky rice! As far as the food goes, it was all fantastic. The taquitos hit the spot and had guacamole, cheese, and lettuce. I'd for sure get them again! The refried beans were hot and flavorful. The beef in the taco was juicy and fresh. We will definitely try the taco salad again when they have better rice so we can get the full experience but the chicken was super juicy and flavorful. We are happy to have stumbled upon this place and grateful they're open for our late night cravings. We will definitely be back!
