El Mexiquense is one of my fav Mexican places in Utah county. They have such a great selection and everything is tasty. The salsa bar is awesome. Granted, I can't handle much above the mild salsa . But they have a lot of great accompaniments on the bar as well. Service has always been excellent as well. It's a great place to go!

We ordered the Fajita Mix Plate- beef/chicken /shrimp- with four flour tortillas. The serving was plenty for two of us, plus we needed a to-go box. It was served on a sizzling platter. The beans, rice, lettuce and tomatoes came on a separate plate. The beef and chicken slices were large enough that we had to cut them to fit on the small tortillas. There could have been some more of the vegetables. The flavor was good, with a mild-medium spice level, but the vegetables were way overcooked and were limp and almost unrecognizable. The salsa bar offered enough of a variety in heat that most palates could be satisfied. (My wife thought even the mild was too hot.) The small half bags of chips were adequate to fulfill our needs. The horchata was one of the better tasting versions we've tried. There was an extra charge for refills. We got to the restaurant before the rush so we were able to get our food quickly. We were given foam plates for our dinner and get your own stainless cutlery. We noticed some dinners were served on glass plates while others were on foam plates. There's not anything exciting about the ambiance, since it's primarily an inexpensive, sit down, fast food restaurant.

Came here while on vacay. Clean ambiance. Wasn't too busy on a Friday. Food was okay/average! Mango-piña drink was soooo good ! I'd go back only for that! Don't get me wrong food was good for what it's worth but coming from a Mexican family, I 'm very picky when it comes to Mexican restaurants as I'm always in search for authenticity!

I love tacos, so for this place to be so middle of the road was kind of sad for me. They had all the great foods, Al pastor tacos with pineapple, tortas, a great salsa bar, but for me the food tasted a little bland and wasn't my favorite. The rest of my group loved it though, so it's a decent crowd pleaser if everyone can't agree on the same thing. The staff was very nice and helped us with everything we needed. It was clean and organized inside, though when we went we weee the only people in the restaurant.

Love this spot! It's rare to find a Mexican spot outside of CA that really does it right but this place nails it. Two of my kids live within 5 minutes of it and they loved it immediately and will likely eat there regularly. My son in law grew up in CA and misses this stuff and he seems to be delighted that he can get it right down the street. I live in NV but I visit a lot so I'll be stopping by any time I'm in town. Great food, service and ambiance!

Carne Asada taco plate with rice and beans. All tacos had a good helping of Asada and were cooked to perfection.

Service - 2, Oder taken quickly, however the soda machine was down and no fix was made. Food - 4, chips and salsa were great. Asada plate seemed to take a long time even though we were the only ones in the restaurant when we ordered. Ambiance - 3, only 1 out of 5 tv screens playing, music was as expected, overall it was only ok.

I loved this place when I first moved here. Quality food tasted like the small southern California food I loved as a kid. Always clean and had amazing experiences and amazing service to their customers. But as of lately, though, I feel like the ball has been dropped. Today, my tortilla was burned, and the meat didn't taste as good. One of my biggest reasons to go was their amazing salsa. The last couple weeks, though, they have been out of salsa, and today, there were only like 3 of the 6 they usually have. It's quite disappointing.

Ewwww dyed chips with chemicals. What happened to my favorite Mexican place?

Our food was served cold $45 for 3 taco plates and Ewwww dyed chips with red green and black chemicals. This used to be my favorite Mexican place in Lehi. We will never come back.

This is one of those places I wanted to love in a five star way, but I was a little disappointed. First, their service was great! Their crew was kind and accommodating. They hooked me up with two Horchatas when I paid for one. The Horhata was most definitely home made, and outstanding. The team also got 100 percent of the food right in our very large order. That's no easy feat. Unfortunately the flavors fell a little flat for some of our orders. The Chile Verde is very spicy. I love spicy food, like burn your face off spicy, but heat without flavor isn't my favorite. All I got was heat and not a ton of flavor. If you're cooking from scratch sometimes that happens. Heat in peppers varies by season especially during the switch between Salinas and Yuma suppliers, but I still would have liked more flavor. The pork was also exceedingly fatty. I was picking it out of my meal consistently. The fish taco was solid, mostly because they make their sauce from scratch and it is both spicy and flavorful. We tried a variety of other foods including the torta, which was ok, Carne Asada tacos, which were also fatty, and carnitas tacos, which were ok as well. Overall the food was a very middle of the road experience in terms of the food, but a good service experience. The kids meals were very basic, but I had no complaints.

Went by this yesterday and it is shut down? Did it move or anyone know what happened?

They're moving to a larger location still in Lehi. It will be where the now-closed Mad Greens used to be (right off I-15). It was a great opportunity for them to get a larger space.

Step inside and you will find a beautifully decorated space with an open kitchen greeting you at the entrance and a staff that is genuinely enthusiastic about the food they are serving. Ocotillo specializes in the cuisine of Sonora, Mexico, a region known for bold meat and seafood dishes. They also offer a daily brunch menu that is worth planning your weekend around. We ordered the tres leches pancakes, a triple stack that delivers exactly what the name promises. Bathed in a three milk mixture and topped with fresh berries and whipped cream, moist but not to sweet. The Sonorense combination was equally impressive. Arrachera steak strips, chilaquiles made with poblano chile, a tamal de elote, and two eggs. The arrachera was excellent and the chilaquiles were crispy, which is exactly how they should be and not something every kitchen gets right. The menu is long enough that choosing something different next time will be a genuine challenge. Omelettes, chilaquiles, brioches, and other specialties give you plenty of reasons to return. We are already looking forward to exploring the lunch and dinner menu. Slightly more expensive than a standard breakfast spot, but the generous portions and the quality of the ingredients justify every dollar. Five stars without hesitation.

They were 3 whole fried jalapeños covered in a spice. They were still hot as in spicy hot) but they were also mellow at the same time. I'd never had jalapeños like this before, and I will be back just for these! I loved cutting them up and eating them with my veggie quesadillas and bean tostada. The grilled onions and peppers in the quesadillas were really good and had a nice grilled flavor. I was kind of afraid to order a tostada to be delivered because I was worried it would get soggy. But it was still crisp and was very tasty.

Goodbye old friend…read more My family and I have been going to this restaurant for 16 years. We know the owner, he knows us. Over the last 5-6 years we have seldomly ate here for a few reasons. The quality has decreased, the rice is often hard. Last night we decided to give it another go hoping for a better (old time) experience. I ordered a smothered burrito- and received a flat tortilla smothered with a little amount of beans on the inside . There were a total of 2 chunks of pork on the outside of the plate and zero pork on the inside of my burrito. My husband also ordered a smothered burrito and received a bean and cheese burrito half ass smothered. My son didn't get a side of beans he ordered and the waitress didn't give us a chance to order drinks. Their prices have doubled since our last visit as well. I paid $15 for a burrito smothered in chili verde sauce without the protein. I'm highly disappointed and it was unanimous this restaurant is no longer what it once was, we will unfortunately not be back.
