Sopa de Costilla (rib soup) has large amounts of relatively tender meat and delicious broth. The arepas are arepas. Either you like this staple or you don't. Chicken and empanadas are very good. Egg dishes are inexpensive, custom made and without defect. They are busy all the time which should tell you something. Service can be slow but vale la pena. Horrible! Never again! Used to come to this place with previous owner, but since this place changed to Don Pan it has turned out to be the worst! Waitress and cook doesn't know what over-easy eggs are, so they brought me scrambled eggs, they were tasteless, my cafe con leche had to send it back 3 times until she finally got it right. Had to ask for ketchup a couple of times cause they'll give a small container with enough ketchup like for two fries. Worst Venezuelan empanada I had ever tasted it! Horrible! This Don Pan does a nice job and is easy to park at which can be a challenge at times in MB. My family likes the cheese empanadas (my favorite) and the pabellón empanadas. The ham and cheese cachitos are delicious. They are a little breadier than traditional cachitos but still very tasty. I also like that they are always willing to reheat everything for you. It makes a big flavor difference. I wish everything was not premade but I have to admit that the flavors are still good. read more

Best Flan I've had in a long time!! Backstory: I wanted to bring a flan for a friend's birthday, but I didn't have time to make it myself with my dad's recipe. So I stopped in at Don Pan to have a coffee on my way to the party, and while they were making my cortadito, I asked if they had a whole flan. They went to the back to check, and they did! If I could give this place 10stars, I would. My friends and I ate here almost every day of the week we were in Miami. The prices are amazing and the pastries/coffee is delicious. My go to favorites were the Venezuelan chicken empanada (eat it with their green sauce) and Guava&Cheese Pastry. Their omelette is phenomenal, and I had to have my cafe con leche with every meal. Their tiramisu is delicious too! One of the best cafe I have been to ever and sad that I will not have it when I return home. read more

I ordered through Yelp, but when I arrived 30 minutes later, my food had not been started. They had not received the order. I waited an hour before my order was ready. They were not very busy, but barely any food was coming out of the kitchen. I watched multiple people leave after waiting for 20 minutes. I did eventually get my food 90 minutes after expected. This place is terrible, wait for a Pasta 30 minutes and when I arrived it was stuck, it did not have the same ingredients that were written on the menu and the attention of the staff is terrible, they do not take good care of the table and when I stop to ask the woman from the box instead of waiting because she saw me going to her to ask her for my food, there she went into the kitchen and came out with the plate but I had not taken any water or silverware, the worst of all is that the moment I pay that was first because one has to pay in the box they do not attend at the table, it is that if they charged me the tip of service to the table, 15%, what is an absolute abuse, I do not have problem in tipping if I have a good service, if I serve as expected up to 20% or more I can give but it seems a rude what they did, it is a very bad restaurant, I do not recommend it at all. I had a bad experience at Don Pan Miami Beach, place is overpriced for the quality of food and service provided. Had to asked for utensils after been at the table for awhile. Although food is ordered at the register a 15% tip was added to the bill. I ordered breakfast a combo of scramble eggs , black beens and arepa. Scramble eggs were dry and tasteless, beens had no flavor, no salt no condiments arepa was Ok Strongly recommend to improve the overall operations of the restaurant.
