Not sure why these guys have such a high rating. Definitely not authentic, I grew up 15 minutes away from Mexico and eat Mexican food regularly, the food here is nowhere close. Had a Carne Asana burrito where the meat was too salty, way too much rice & beans, and it was wrapped so poorly that the high school kids working at Chipotle would be embarrassed. It's on the corner of Metropolitan and Bedford, has bright lights, and a short line all throughout the night. One day after a show, I finally made my way to give them some money. Ordered two tacos - lengua and al pastor. It took a while for them to make it just because it looked like they were making a giant catering order at the same time. But it was worth the wait! Hands down the best late night taco truck. They are cash only but each taco is about $3.50 (favorite is definitely beef tongue) with burritos about $8.00 (depending on what you get). Parking is very easy late at night and they are open till about 3-4 AM. read more

BEST tacos al pastor in town! Competing head to head with Tacos No.1 in Chelsea market. Their meat is so well marinated. The pineapple is killer and their guacamole salsa makes the difference. Loaded taco so it's a generous portion for the usual minimalistic approach to tacos in any restaurant. Their quesadillas are very good too but I'm not so crazy about it. The food is delicious. We get food from Don Panchito often. It has become our favorite Mexican food truck. I highly recommend them.

I've now come to compare all Beford Ave taco trucks by a singular point of reference, Tacos Morelos. I also feel weird going here since it'll always be Endless Summer's spot. Either way, the tacos and quesadillas are good. Nice portions of meat and cheese and their salsa verde has a delightful kick to it. My biggest gripes are the lack of transperancy in pricing, wait times, and weird shortages of product. For example, I ordered a steak quesadilla and a regular quesadilla. The guy informed me that they were out of cheese but could make my steak quesadilla. I was kind of drunk and really wanted a quesadilla so I apparently quickly retorted in spanish that that's absurd, if you can make a quesadilla that means you have queso. So either you have cheese for both or you're just serving me an oversized steak taco. Some how whatever I said registered with him and he made both for me. (I guess that Spanish Literature degrees pays off after all) One thing I think they could start offering that would make me an insta-fan is Tortas Ahogadas. I discovered these guys around the time COVID hit and have not stopped coming since. They're open pretty early and stay open well into the night. Don Panchito's offers a wide array of Mexican options like burritos, tostadas and quesadillas. They're situated right outside Whole Foods on Bedford which is the busiest street in Williamsburg and a definitely Brooklyn staple because of their fair prices and quality selection. Okay so I made a account just so I can give this place a review. I saw this place had lots of great reviews, so I told my dad that we should go eat there (me and him are working near by)... Now being from the motherland and seeing all the great reviews I was expecting so much. We got two tortas and two drinks (came out to be $24) and honestly that was probably the worst torta ive ever had and that's always my go to when eating Mexican. Well that was more like a salad torta. I legit couldn't taste the meat, all they gave me was a little strip of meat and filled the whole torta with lettuce, tomatoes and jalapenos. Saw these guys on the corner of 31st and Ditmars in Astoria and had to make a stop being the taco fan that I am. In terms of my favorite tacos in NYC, this has to be number 3 (out of easily 50+ that I've tried). The cook was super friendly and accommodating to our order. I got a pollo and al pastor and they were both delicious. The red hot sauce they on the side was also amazing, not too spicy that it took away from the food and full of flavor to enhance the tacos. The food is yummy and of one of the better Mexican trucks within the 4 blocks on Bedford. But the main guy who mans the truck is incompetent at taking orders and beyond unfriendly. It's just not worth it, especially when it's busy. Case in point with my encounter this morning. Let's count how many things can possibly go wrong with a single order. I tell him I'd like a huevos rancheros. Two seconds later I call out, I'd like that with chorizo. He snaps at me, "we already put steak on, okay?" I say, "fine, steak is great." I wait for my order, and another guy comes and also orders a huevos rancheros. The truck guy comes back to me and ask, "you wanted one too right?" I confirm I did. Ten minutes later he hands me my order and says "here's your huevos rancheros". He tells me it's $9 and I pay. I open it up to put condiments in, and realize it's three tacos. I tell him that. He yells at me "I asked you!" I tell him I confirmed my order twice and he's just said it again himself. It's obvious he mixed up the orders, but I receive no "sorry." Someone else claims the tacos. And then a few minutes later, he finally hands me my huevos rancheros in a very dismissive and impatient way, and also to the other guy who ordered the same thing. He tells him it's $8, and I realize I'd overpaid. I'm now angry that he made no effort rectifying it and just ignores me. Hungry and deciding it's not worth my trouble to argue for a $1 (I do briefly consider demanding my tip back), I walk home with my food. When I get home, I realize there's no steak in my huevos rancheros. It's also missing other things that it usually came with, like guacamole. I'm usually pretty understanding and tolerant towards order lapses during lunch rushes. All you need to do is just give me a little bit acknowledgment. Here's a tip, truck or restaurant - when you screw up the order, don't blame your customer for your screwup. That's one way to make sure they never come back. read more

I have been coming here for the past couple of years. It's located on Bedford near Metropolitan and receives lots of foot traffic, and it's always pretty busy. I'm surprised there aren't more reviews because this truck is one of my favs in nyc (and I'm a SoCal-er). The Al Pastor tacos are a MUST! Sweetened by pineapples, just like traditional version. WARNING: Prices on this truck vary between day and night. It is not the owners policy but two specific employees (one is in his early 20's tall and slender, the other is slightly shorter, dark skinned and wears glasses,) when on duty during the night, they will charge customers $1-$3 more per plate/item. This has been going on for over two years. (I live directly across the street.) While the food is excellent, I don't believe that it is fair that they are cheating customers to add extra dollars in their pockets without the owners knowledge. So people be ware! Compare the prices with the owner to what these two charge you. & if you come across them and this problem, please complain so that way the owner can put a stop to this. read more

Mind that this order was placed at 3:20 AM in the morning with little to no foot traffic on this FREEZING WINTER NIGHT. I only the one of doesn't think this food is that great? I tried some tacos awhile back and they were fine. Nothing great and nothing horrible either. It was so long ago that I can't honestly tell you about those but I can tell you of the Beef Burrito and the what I thought was suppose to be an Echilada but lord knows it was not! The beef was insanely chewy in the burrito and it was over powering with tomatoes. In all fairness, the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh. It was lacking in some sort of kick. Needed more flavor, a crema or salsa would have helped. The thing that was suppose to be an enchilada was wrapped in the biggest damn wrap I have ever seen. No oil on it either so like was point of this flavorless tortilla thing. NO SAUCE HERE- my lord that was strange. The two workers seemed very bothered by me ordering. Almost like they were doing me a favor by taking my order. That just looked at me very oddly. Like as if I stole their tips before. LOL No idea. Maybe they were closing up soon. It was late. Not sure at all. I tried to be friendly and smile at them but they were unmoved by my warmth. The expressions from them I guess was what made me push to write this mostly. Cheap and delicious! I have never tried anything else besides the pollo taco because it is so good. It's simple but full of flavor and there is a generous amount of chicken in one taco. The people in my neighborhood always rave about Los Hermanos, which is also good and even cheaper but I prefer this place. Great sober food and great trying-to-get-sober food :) read more

Probably the best Mexican food truck in the city. Huge variety and authentic. I've come here a few times for a late night meal as I did last night. As per usual, my meal didn't disappoint. My husband and I both had the burrito with bistec. Salsa verde on the side is a must! The burrito was very filling. I'm 7 months pregnant and almost (almost lol) couldn't finish it. My older 2 daughters had a bistec torta and a chicken and cheese quesadilla which they both enjoyed. We washed it down with a variety of Jarritos (pineapple is my favorite) and went home to KO.
