Let me start by saying I'm typically not a complainer and make the best of the situation, however the food was so bad I had to leave a review. The service was ok. However the food was not. There was absolutely no seasoning on the brisket inside of the empanada. The sopes were not seasoned as well. It's been a long time that I've gone to any restaurant and the food was this bad. We sat at the bar at 3 p.m. on a Saturday. Not crowded. Terrible service, terrible tea, terrible margarita. The marg was over the top sweet - so much so that we left after only three sips. It was pure sugar. We were not even offered chips and salsa. The restaurant was very dark. We went across the street to Lupe Tortilla and had a very different experience. Don Ramon's: Excellent service by Mr. Isassc and additional staff was very attentive to details like refilling our drinks ice tea, coke & water before we could call him to our table. Atmosphere had beautiful pictures of a proud bull and many others A variety of music , the lighting was so romantic and clam. The prices of plate dinners very reasonable, portions of food were great. Other waiters stop by to check on us, while our waiter busy helping other table as well. Our group of sisters selected nachos and enchilada plate, and quesadillas mini for small appetite superb if I didn't know any better. I thought I felt somewhere in Mexico where people are so friendly and very happy to have us as their guest. I will be retuning for sure, with my spouse. I went here with my aunt for lunch when we first walked in no one greeted us then the hostess came up and we both said hello and they guy said nothing ... just pointed us to a table. uhhhhh kinda rude ? our server was amazing attending and kind but if you come here BRING A JACKET IT WAS FREEZING - to go long with this cold atmosphere is just okay food we both got a lunch special? normally price taco salad is $17 to a lunch special $12 the portion was huge but the meat felt greasy and lettuce was not fresh my aunts enchiladas where same vibe over all I don't think I would recommend eating here $39.02 after tip for just okay food is not worth it to me but not horrible. read more

I met the owner and he said he coined his restaurant first as the luxury Mexican restaurant food Great atmosphere and great food. I'm here for the second time in a long period due to my last encounter. There are 3 people 2 Latinos and me Black. My other patrons rang the BELL for me to get service. When I place my order, I was asked was it to be to go? I said no for here. I received my food and drink. No one checked on my satisfaction. When I stated no asked me how my food was. The waitress answered and asked the question back to me. I feel so disrespected and discriminated against by people of color to me. I'm spending my money for respect NOT disrespect. I don't have words. There is no one in the restaurant, and I can't be served??! WOW!!!! The level of service in this restaurant is slow and non-responsive at best. Food is sub par and the owner does not respect the feedback from customers of certain ethnic backgrounds. The restaurant smells like mildew. I suggest they use a clean mop during cleaning if cleaning is actually taking place. Will never spend another dollar at this establishment again. This establishment has been here since I can remember, I grew up in this community. The owner is a good neighbor that also cares about our community. We mainly come here for special occasions and holidays. If you're looking for friendly service, this is your place too. It says something about a business when neighbors gather here for meals and you get to see everyone outside of the local clubhouse clubs. We love Don Ramon's. We eat there almost every Friday. And we always request Irma bc she is the best! Have never been disappointed by anything on the menu, and I've tried a variety. Drinks are top notch, too! They have live music on Friday. While it's not my favorite, it's not so loud that you can't still have a conversation. Great place for big families/friend groups and celebrations! Came here with my family to celebrate my mom passing her citizenship test. We had a reservation but I had to call due to running 20-30 mins late. The hostess was super nice and said all was ok! The food and service was great especially considering how busy it was. The live music was a great plus during dinner. I had the chile relleno which was delicious and cheesy, and a couple frozen margaritas, peach and mango (which they do not hold back on!!). The green salsa with the chips was also a hit in our family. We also appreciated that our server was able to get my dad a lunch only option that he was craving for dinner. It was a tilapia/fish/shrimp platter. Super amenable and helpful! Around the table, we had various food options ordered: fish, kids cheeseburger, Don Ramon's fajitas - all were delicious. We did ask for a dessert for our mom with "congrats" written but there was a mix up and we received a happy birthday cake piece with the singing which we didn't mind as much. Weekend breakfast was a hit! For $10-$13 the platters come with your main dish, fresh corn or flour tortillas, potatoes with chorizo, and beans. The homemade corn tortillas are the best! Terrible customer service! Owners son was pouring me top shelf tequila without asking. I always get the house silver. When I asked him about it, he told me that was part of the recipe. What?! Wtf! Also had brought me the tab before the food came out because his shift was ending. Cancelled the food order and paid it letting him know would never come back. Love this restaurant. The beef fajitas are the best I've had in a very long time. Our server was wonderful, very helpful and knowledgeable and made sure my food did not have cilantro in it. My husband ordered the snapper acapulco and said it was wonderful. The flavors and textures were so very good he will definitely order again. I also had the ground beef taco salad. Went for mom's 84th bday on 5/5/24 and there were maybe 13 of us there. The waiter actually told a family member we were disorganized and we should have had one ticket. REALLY? There were 7 different parties among us. Cinco de Mayo and the place wasn't crowded the waiters were just inept. Not one check was correct. Nor did they really seem to care. Food was average no worse or better than anywhere else. Won't be wasting my time and money there anymore. This is a great local spot. My favorite dish is (sadly!) only offered Monday at lunch. Enchiladas Fiestas - It's a mix of three enchiladas - so delicious! They also bless you with chips and the best warm salsa (so good you could drink it) so I'm stuffed before I'm even halfway done with my meal. The good news is that I can always have enchilada leftovers for Tuesday lunch :) I'll bump it up to 5 stars if you add that to the menu permanently! Took a friend to lunch here yesterday on a whim, only because it's in a convenient location. My past experiences here were pretty awful, BUT since they are still in business even after the pandemic, I was hopeful that the food, margaritas, and service had improved. Nope! Margaritas tasted like lime water. A $15 brisket enchilada plate was mediocre and exceedingly salty. My friend only took two bites of her chicken enchiladas. The only good thing was they brought a small portion of queso with the complimentary chips (and decent salsa). Next time I will drive the extra few miles to my reliable TexMex fave, El Palenque. read more

We ordered the Parrillada Ramon's for two. The presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were even better. The baby back ribs melted in your mouth, and the quail was seasoned perfectly. The restaurant is nearby a shopping center with a lot of stores, and when you pass by it seems to be like an expensive restaurant. In reality the restaurant is not that expensive but their decorations and ambience make this restaurant to be compared to a high scale mexican restaurant. They have 2 outside patios and they are dog -friendly! So we went on Saturday early afternoon and were served outside by Jose who was very friendly. And the hostess even brought 2 plastic water cups for our 2 Great Dane puppies. How cool is that!? I had a barbecue breakfast taco. Not MY favorite, but I wanted to try something new. My husband got the Huevos con Chorizo breakfast plate and loved it. The chips and salsa are good. Warm red sauce and cold green sauce - not overly spicy so I could enjoy them. We had fun. read more
