But I was hungry so I went in and I'm glad I did. It is very clean, very pretty inside. My server was very polite and helped me decide what to order. I ordered the California burrito and an iced tea. The steak had a ton of flavor, I really enjoyed it. My only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars...once I was finished and ready to go, it seemed as if everyone disappeared. I have been to Don Ramon's 3 times, and each time has been a stellar experience, the wait staff are prompt and kind, the wait time for apps and entrees is very minimal, the atmosphere and look is clean and inventing, and the food, the food is down right AMAZING! Some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. I only wish they still made their Queso Sticks! If you're looking for an authentic Mexican cuisine experience, you have to try this place at least once. I know..odd but the sinks are beautiful) Fantastic frozen lime margaritas, and great fajitas (once I got the steak,once I got the combo). Both times I asked for veggies well done but it didn't happen....the serving skillets weren't sizzly either time which is part of a fajita experience. Both times I sent them back to get the veggies done more and they politely complied. My niece ordered steak tacos and got chicken but again, it was quickly corrected. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was the service. The first time our server was pleasant enough just not very friendly. The 2nd time,our server was a very loud guy who kept wanting to bump fists like we were frat bros, but took 3 reminders for extra napkins. Best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to, and we've been too a lot! The servers are all very nice, and they remember you from previous visits. The salsa is SO good & flavorful, and they give you lots of it! Chicken fajitas are always super delicious! The service is very quick too! I wouldn't recommend any other Mexican place to anyone besides this one! Funny note: we went last night and there were 2 ladies sitting in the booth next to us. They complained about everything and said they were going to leave a yelp review about how little salsa they got. Big disappointment. I ordered the off the menu Mole Poblano. Either it was off the menu because no one knew how to cook it or they had too many complaints. Mole Pablano is a chocolate based sauce. This was not. It was a red/brown sauce that was tasteless. The chicken was overcooked and the tortillas were frozen restaurant supply chain variety. My wife had 3 chicken tacos which were soggy and they charged extra for a side of rice!! Complete rip off. The side of Guacamole was powder with what appeared like strategically placed pieces of advocado to appear home made. There was barely enough to fill 5 chips. Look, Mexican food is the most honest of ingredients and easy to make. They failed. I'm not sure if COVID19 was responsible for the lack of fresh supplies but I'm never going back again. People, go across the street to Taco Bell and buy a Chalupa box for $4.99 and leaving feeling you got good Mexican food. I had to change my review of this place. I was going there at least 5 times a week to order a strawberry lime Margarita and chips to go. The assistant manager once argued with me on the phone that I ordered a strawberry mango Margarita..I don't eat Mango. Today I took a friend in after she tried a to go Margarita, again the SAME assistant manager brought me a strawberry mango Margarita and wanted to argue about it, told the other staff in Spanish not to serve us and lied about talking to the manager with whom I spoke with shortly after the incident. I was spending $20 a day there and will NEVER go back again! I recorded him lying about speaking to the manager. read more

The restaurant itself is beautiful. I loved the decor inside. We came on a Friday night, the restaurant was busy. We ordered waters and a pitcher of margaritas. The water tastes really weird, I don't know if it always tastes like that or what. I'm willing to bet our margaritas had no tequila in them. They were delicious, but who really wants to just drink fruity slush without the tequila? ;) Our service was just okay. But, maybe that was just because they were really busy? The food itself was really good! I ordered a shrimp quesadilla. Big portions! I also enjoyed their salsa that came with the chips! I'm definitely willing to give this place another try. I have been giving Don Ramon's my business for years. Their food has been okay. Prices were average. Chips and salsa are all you can eat. I put in a to go order and didnt realize I had an older menu. When I received my total it was a lot higher than expected. The person on the phone explained the prices I had were older and quoted a higher price--a lot more than I wanted to pay for our little taco combo meals. We decided to go ahead with the order. When picking it up, I asked for an extra bag of chips. When the girl gave me my bill she had charged for them and when she went to get someone to address my concern the customer service is what really upset me--even after they knew how unhappy I was for the high price of the food, he kept his business stance that if I wanted the bag that was the cost and removed the bag when I didnt want to pay extra, which now they would have to throw away anyways. He then handed me the cash instead of taking it off my card--very cold and unsympathetic for chips that are all you can eat when you dine in. Did they do anything wrong literally? No, chips cost per extra bag for to go orders. Were they cold and insensitive under the circumstances? I think so and when I told them they lost me as a customer they stated they were okay with that as I walked away to leave the restaurant.. So I have no desire to spend my hard earned money there anymore. read more

I've had better service at a Taco Bell Drive thru. They have random rules about how many baskets of chips you get and how much salsa, wtf? You're a Mexican restaurant, that's what you're know for idiots. Then follow it with irrational unwritten rules that claim you cannot use a gift certificate and a coupon even though nothing on the gift certificate stated these stipulations. Don't go making up random rules. And lastly, the waiters have a difficult time understanding your orders/requests. I realize we live in a melting pot, hell I'm also an immigrant, but require your wait staff to know and understand English or ask for help from someone who does, don't just pretend. Decided to stop in to grab a bite on Sunday night. It's a nice little spot and the food is pretty decent. I had the Burrito Norteno and it was probably one of the best burrito I have had in Cleveland but my wife was not impressed with the Tamales the meat was good but the cornmeal was cold and a little too thick. All in all we will probably be back to try again since it near by and reasonably priced. read more

Got the worst food poisoning of my life from a grilled chicken burrito here. I used to eat hete regularly, but never again.

This is my 2nd bad experience here unfortunately. Service is always terrible , they don't smile or make you feel welcome , but rather that you are a nuisance for dining there . There is no communication between the staff . The prices for what you receive are shameful . $6.49 for a handful of tortilla chips with unevenly distributed and half melted cheese nothing else included. Simple requests such as lemons went unnoticed and of course I felt like a bother to mention it more than twice . My plates I wanted to pack up to take home were cleared without being asked and still completely filled with food as if they weren't already overcharging as it is . I never tip below 15% but this situation was unbelievable especially as someone who works in the service industry. I've never written a review but this experience was so terrible I felt an obligation to share my opinion. read more

I have visited the Warrensville Heights location on several occasions and never been disappointed. This visit to the new location was even better. The Lyndhurst location is closer to where I live and I found out, upon checking out, that they have only been open for 1 week. I visited on a Friday night, which was fairly busy, so there was a wait of maybe 10-15 minutes. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the staff is super friendly. Upon being seated, I ordered the 120z Margarita ($4.99), on the rocks and the mixed sizzling fajita platter ($15.99)(shrimp, chicken, beef, veggies). My margarita arrived a short time later, along with a huge basket of warm tortilla chips and a side of nicely flavored salsa. The entree arrived, and it was delicious. Sizzling, as promised, huge portion, nice flavor and adequate # of warm tortillas, along with a plate of rice, guacamole salad, lettuce, sour cream, pico de gallo and refried beans. Service was just a tiny bit slow, but not bad for having only been open for 1 week. I will absolutely return! read more
