We had dinner here tonight during one of our last evenings in Cleveland before heading back home. Since I'm in town for surgery and still wasn't feeling 100% up to dining in, we opted for takeout. When we arrived to pick up our food, the restaurant had a great atmosphere and welcoming vibes. The staff was friendly and pleasant to interact with, and their extensive menu offered plenty of tempting options. I ordered the Melting Chimichanga with cilantro rice, and it was absolutely delicious. The queso drizzled on top was the perfect touch, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. My mom chose the "Pick Two" combo with a chicken burrito and ground beef enchiladas -- she found both dishes flavorful and loved her meal. My step-dad went with the Chori Pollo, which he also really enjoyed. He mentioned that it would have been even better with an extra helping of queso. The chips and salsa included with our order were excellent as well -- fresh and full of flavor. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely visit again next time we're in Cleveland. We wanted to try a New Mexican restaurant so we find this on Yelp and it had good reviews. We were seated quickly for a Friday night. The booth we were seated in seat was completely caved in. The lights were so dim and we could barely see the menu. Our server came over to greet us, however she spoke so quietly I had to have her repeat herself several times to understand what she was asking. I order a Michelada with Modelo Especial and she provided it with Modelo Negra which made the beer dark. The chips and salsa came out and the salsa tasted like tomato sauce. Our food came out quickly. I ordered the soup and it was warm, and super salty. The biarria quesadilla was just meat barely cheese. My boyfriend said the chicken in chicken burrito was good but the tostada was made from a broke taco shell not a tostada shell. Not sure we will be back anytime soon. read more

Behind an attractive interior and slightly below average food quality lies the Spector of poor service. This place was an easy walk from our hotel. We were seated quickly and ordered. The waitress struggled repeating our order back- it was the tip of the iceberg. My order arrived alone, quickly but missing the black beans. Our second entree arrived about five minutes later but it was wrong. Another five minutes and it arrived. Beans gave new dimension to bland. Not recommended. This was a 2nd visit and it hasn't improved. I ordered the Chile Relleno & Chicken Enchilada combo. The Chile Relleno was not deep fried, rather the pepper was stuffed with a log of cheese and I am assuming broiled. The cheese was not melted, the pepper was crunchy, and overall barely warm. The chicken enchilada was not fully stuffed ... maybe half stuffed ... and again, barely warm. My companion ordered the quesadilla sampler and received a chicken quesadeilla. She asked when she placed the order if it came with sour cream and the server said, yes. Well, it came with sour cream drizzle. My companion had to flag down our server and ask for sour cream which was brought. The server never asked if we were satisfied with our meals and since I returned mine with the poblano uneaten, she should have had a clue that something was wrong. Then again, so should we have known better as the restaurant was almost empty when we arrived at 12:30. If you have a hankering for mexican, try somewhere else. read more

Over all I was very pleased. The food was cooked perfectly, the service was good, and it was a nice atmosphere. My only complaint was the price. For two people I was $91 after tip. That was two meals, and two margaritas. But being located in Beachwood, that's expected. read more

I've been meaning to go here since I saw one of their ads, then seeing the reviews, made me even want to go. First, use your check in feature, you get free guacamole or queso dipping sauce for free. Everything we had was fresh! From the margaritas, the (free) guacamole, to the complementary corn chips we got, everything was very tasty. If there were any "gripes" it would be that her margarita had mint stems, preferred less, and the black beans had minimal flavor. Otherwise, the place is spacious and very much well-kept up. The food is good for the most part the tacos were great I tried the bacon wrapped shrimp and it was just so so they were a bit over cooked. The salsa for the table did not taste fresh and left weird taste. The chicken soup was good and had a lot of chicken it. The husband had the fish tacos, said they were some of the best he's ever had with the chipotle sauce. I had the POLLO YUCATAN which was great as well, very flavorful, 10 out of 10. The service was good, no long wait for anything. The ambiance was okay, I didn't care for the bathroom door to seemingly be in the middle of the dinning room. And it was extremely cold. The food is always delicious and fresh. The drinks are surprisingly strong. I'd always order a flavored frozen margarita or two and I'd be set. My favorite dish is probably the enchiladas supreme; you get 4 enchiladas: 1 beef, 1 chicken, 1 cheese, 1 bean and they're all topped with melted cheese. I also love the steak chimichanga supreme, the California burrito with barbacoa, and the tacos al pastor. The complimentary chips and salsa are great too. Their Mexican rice is the bomb, I usually order at least two sides of it so I can have extra for later. I've only eaten here once, usually I order takeout (you can order drinks to go!), but I enjoyed my experience. Bartenders were friendly and the vibe of the place was lively and fun. read more

Anyway, I realize restaurants operate on razor thin margins but, really, there comes a time when you gotta face up to the fact that your establishment needs some sprucing up. It is TIME to address these saggy, lumpy, sorry booth seats (see photo). They were bad last time I was here and are only getting worse. This is a Mexican restaurant that is on the corner of a major intersection and sort of shares parking with a gas station so it might not look too inviting when you first see it. This is why I have never been to this place but at the behest of a friend came here on a Tuesday for Taco Tuesday and I was impressed. The service is 5 star nice, like genuinely you have multiple people taking care of you, we kept getting our chips refilled without asking and the same thing with our drinks. The service really outshines even 5 star steakhouses. Our main waitress was super attentive and all of the food was brought out super quick, mind you this is also when the place is packed. The food was good, the chips and gauc were really on point. The tacos were alright, I mean they are street tacos so not your usual Americanized tex mex stuff. I got the bacon and chorizo ones which were pretty good, although I wish they had maybe a wider selection of tacos to choose from. I ordered a few drinks which can run a bit expensive (don't drink too many shots here as it'll run up the bill). Also it is super authentic Mexican food and I would recommend coming here, especially for the service. Ill be coming back to try some of their other menu items when I get a chance. read more

I went here with two clients after work on night. We were seated at a high top in the bar area. The service was outstanding! Never had to ask for a drink, to give or order or bus our table. The salsa with the chips was some of the best I've had. I also had the bacon wrapped shrimp. It wasn't bad, but I don't think I would get it again. The shrimp was over cooked and the bacon was to done for my liking. One of my clients got the Chimichanga and said it was very good. The other for some chicken dish and enjoyed it. HITS. THE. SPOT. Hands down the best authentic Mexican restaurant in Cleveland. My husband and I do date nights at Tres about 3-5 times a month since it never disappoints. They have quite a few sister restaurants in CLE that we've tried, but the beachwood location has a full food and drink menu that we prefer. We're immediately given fresh chips and salsa within the first 2 minutes of being seated, our drinks come within 5 minutes of being ordered, and the food comes extremely quick, it's piping hot, well portioned, extremely flavourful and just excellent EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I can say that between my husband and I, we've tried about every gourmet taco, fajita plate, margarita, and beer they have on menu; you cannot go wrong with your choice(s). The guacamole was incredibly bland. Not enough cilantro, lime or salt. I actually think it was mashed avocado, that's it. Not even a hint of anything else. The salsa was well made with fresh ingredients. The mild was mild and the spicy was spicy. Nothing special, but they hit the mark for the expectation. The chips were way too thick. I know homemade chips are subjective, but for my taste, too thick. The mini chicken tacos were a little mushy. Like they were previously frozen and heated up or microwaved. Dang, if this is the case, DON'T! Lastly, my Cucos, although flavorful was so doggone dry. The grilled chicken was over salted and the spanish rice was bland. NOW, for the ugly illegal truth... my bill came, I totaled it and signed it. The next day when I was balancing my bank account, I saw that they added to my bill!!! They changed my damn total to increase the amount! When I called them to tell them to reverse it and charge it correctly or simply bill me what my bill said and I signed and they told me I could only come back and they would physically hand me the difference!!! I ordered the "create your own combo" with a ground beef and chicken Chile Relleno - I preferred the ground beef over the chicken - not much chicken in my serving. Dish comes with rice and beans. Another at our table had a soft chicken taco that really looked good. Wife had the Street Tacos- comes with three tacos. Really good taste. They are soft tacos with steak, chorizo and pineapples. Man, has this place fallen off. The "street tacos" Al pastor were dry and not even fixable with salsa. And apparently you only get 2 tacos per order now instead of 3. No mention of this change on the menu. I understand that everything is more expensive these days but once a single taco gets north of $7 it no longer has "street" cred. Try selling real street tacos at 2 for $16 anywhere in America and see how far it gets you, SF/NYC/lobster tacos notwithstanding. Forget that this place sits directly next to a BP gas station. They were one of the first restaurants in the area to serve Modelo on tap. We always sit at the bar and get good service. The bartenders are short on conversation but are kind and nice. I would suggest planning your visit at least 2 hrs. Before they close bc once it gets close to closing time, they start cleaning early and use a lot of bleach which ruins your dinner and your dining experience. read more

Went to this restaurant (on Chagrin in Beachwood) yesterday (5/21/24) and was sitting at the bar, when we were brought out chips and salsa. The lighting was dark, but I noticed something black in the salsa. The salsa tasted like beans and we thought it was a black bean or something. I turned on the light on my phone and dug out the object and low and behold it was a massive fly (dead of course). I threw up. The waiter said he was getting the manager, but there was no management there. They did however offer to give me free food. Needless to say, I declined. Very disappointed. Will not return, but I will say the salsa was good up until I realized I was eating bugs! :) If eating bugs is no big deal to you, then I would recommend the chips and salsa. read more

I had the veggie Yucatán and it was amazing. The veggies were cooked perfectly not to soft but not to hard. The special sauce was full of flavor and the rice was delicious. The house salsa had a little kick to it and the chips were hot and fresh. The food came out fast and hot! The have daily specials today (Saturday) is half off tequila. The staff are talking all of the proper quarantine precautions by wearing mask and there is hand sanitizer at the door. The service was excellent. Our waitress Mary was very attentive.
