And a $50 out-the-door cash subtraction from the wallet. Ouch. But, that's inflation for ya'. The owner's really nice, and she has a unique store, with a lot of stuff to look at inside while you're waiting. I was surprised that their pricing for a titanium Casio Pathfinder was about $50 under Kohl's $288 sale price. Who can resist a deal like that? And proprietor Ben was very enthusiastic and fun to deal with so I bit. The next day, I stopped by to resolve a problem I was having with the volume of the alarm on my new watch. It was just about inaudible. When I asked to listen to another watch just to see if the problem was endemic to the model or just to my watch, Ben was openly resistant, strongly suggesting that I call Casio's 1-800 number or visit their website. Huh. He eventually let me listen to another like-model (it's endemic to all Casio Pathfinders, apparently, so stay away if you depend on an alarm or countdown timer!) but was very cool at that point and pretended to be busy elsewhere (a real talent considering the cozy size of the kiosk!). If you want a great deal on a watch, check this place out. But don't expect any better service than you would get from a Manhattan street vendor hawking watches out of a raincoat.

When it came to the 21st century watches, I'm mediocre-up-to-date with the pieces. I was in need of a high grade time piece for multi-purpose use in the military. It has to be able to sustain heavy duty usage. With this in mind, I went to Sherwood mall in hunt of a wrist watch. I had Zumiez in mind but before I could even get in there. I immediately walked over to this watch kiosk. There were a ton of watches to choose from and the particular watch, I was eyeballing was the G-shock. I was helped by a very friendly lady at the counter. Unsure if she knew much about the specifications on the watches, I threw my questions straight at her. I first asked if there were anything better than a G-shock for my type of use. And she rebuttals with "why not G-shock?" At that point, I was sold on G-shock. My military buddies had it and its just what the Navy Seals use. She said she's sold many G-shock to former and active Navy Seals in her day. I didn't know which is the best of the G-shock to get. I simply told her this. I need it for swimming. I need it for running. and I will need it to be extremely strong, reliable and light weight. She quickly grabbed two G-Shock watches. Both look extremely high tech. She then tells me the specification of each watch and what they can do. I was absolutely blown away by not simply the watches but her knowledge of them. Wow. She stated she has been dealing watches for twenty years and reads the manuals for the books on her free time along with fixing them. She saved me time from going into other shops to look for watches. In less than ten minutes, I was sold for a $220 solar powered, light weight military grade G-shock watch. It was exactly what I was looking for. I went home to do more research on the watch I bought and everything about it was exactly what she has said. Other third party reviews on the same watch were superb. I was a satisfied customer simply because of the friendly, knowledgeable service she provided.
