My first visit I was seated at a booth on the 2nd floor and joined by my daughter and her friends to celebrate her birthday. It was mid-day, the restaurant was busy with parties of people entering and moving about, laughing and enjoying themselves. Energetic but not overwhelming. Our table was greeted and served quickly. We were able to hold a conversation and really catch up with each other. We had a great time with the menu. I went in on a weekday afternoon with my aunt, so I don't think I really got the full Don Tito experience because it was a little quiet. However, I had a wonderful time and the tacos were great. Our waiter was adorable and really attentive (as well as patient, we were there for 3 hours), and he gave me amazing cocktail and food recommendations (I had some sort of tacos with caramelized onions). This is the place to be in Arlington! There is always a great fun atmosphere when you arrive and while you are there. Plenty of tv's to watch any sport or game you are interested in on the first and second floor. The second floor in the evening becomes a great place to network and hang out with friends. I highly recommend the jalapeno margarita....if you like a good drink with a great kick. The tacos are great as well. I have never had a bad experience at Don Tito's. The staff is great and they work as a great team when it gets slammed. You also never know who is going to be at Don Tito's. It become a hot spot for local athletes and visiting celebrities. I had heard great things about Don Titos but my husband and I had yet to check them out. When we needed to make a lunch reservation to accommodate a group with a gluten free person, two babies in strollers and a toddler, I decided to give Don Titos a call to see if they might work. The person I spoke with said it wouldn't be a problem so we met our friends there for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The first strike was they only had high tops available. I understand the majority of the seating is high tops now having been there, but I wish they would have mentioned this over the phone. It's extremely difficult to care for an infant in a stroller in a high top table. They did offer to move us upstairs, but only had booths available which would have made it extremely difficult again with the strollers. Not a huge deal - it's one of those things maybe you don't think of until you have your own kid, but did prove to be pretty annoying by the end of the lunch. They also had the doors open on a 90 degree humid day and by the end of the lunch, both we and our babies were fussy from the heat. They placed the menus down and explained that we could order from the ala carte brunch menu or the tacos on the lunch menu, but the full menu wasn't available. Again, not a huge deal because they had a large selection of gluten free tacos, but I wish they would have mentioned they didn't have the full menu available when I called the day before. Next our waitress brings over chips and salsa for the table, but unfortunately for my friend with celiacs, they are cooked in the main fryer and are thus not gluten free. I found this pretty disappointing for a place that has so many gluten free options available. My friend was really hungry, having just made the trip down from NYC, so she ordered rice and beans with her meal instead and they were able to make those gluten free. We placed our orders and the tacos came out right away, but those of us who ordered from the brunch menu had to wait another 10 minutes. I hate when places do this!! It makes everyone at the table feel awkward - those of us without food are insisting everyone eat while those with food are trying to seem polite and not eat while watching their meal get cold. Also, 10 minutes is a LONG time between bringing the plates. Certainly enough time to finish two tacos before we even got our food. When we were done with our food, it seemed we lost our waitress's attention, which is a shame because we probably would have ordered more drinks. It was, to their credit, nice to have the low pressure time to catch up with our friends without someone trying to stick a bill in your face every ten minutes to rush you out the door. However, because of the aforementioned crankiness due to the 90 degree heat, it became evident we needed to get our check and move on to a place w a/c and ice water. When they brought over the bill, we saw they had charged $5 each for the rice and beans! Yes, $10 for rice and beans. I wanted to like this place and after tasting the food, want to like it even more! The food was really delicious and the drinks were awesome, but unfortunately I don't think we'll be back. read more

This is a great spot! My boyfriend and I have only been for brunch (about 5-6 times) and have been in the afternoon/evening for drinks. We loved doing Saturday or Sunday brunch- although disappointed the menu changed (we loved the chorizo omelets!). Pitchers of mimosas here are a must :) Last time we were here (Memorial Day) we had a little issue with our server (she literally disappeared and we finally had to ask another server to help us get our check, etc.) so not sure what happened. I like the atmosphere of don Tito a lot, but wasn't entirely sold until today. Last night a man slipped drugs into my drink. I left the situation and got home safely, and am thankfully ok. I called the bar and spoke to the manager, Milosch, and told him what happened just so the bar would be aware of it. They handled the situation perfectly and were very kind and supportive. This is Yelp dude, people are entitled to their own opinions and can express themselves accordingly. You think hopping on here and getting defensive and accusatory is going to win you patrons? You're turning people off. After calling me "old and serious" because I stated this was your typical meat market, "Arlington frat guy" place (I dare you to deny that!) and it wasn't my scene, you then advised me not to return, like a petulant child taking his ball and going home. Trust and believe...I won't be back, and not because you don't want me to (which is horseshit because you'll take my money anyday), but because I genuinley don't care to support business owners who treat their customers like crap and aren't receptive to feedback. And regarding me calling one of the bartenders a douchebag, that is literally the word he used to describe himself when he told us to blow off the page that our table was ready. Called a week & a half ago to make a rsvp for tonight for 17 people for my graduation dinner. Got the rsvp, got a text yesterday to confirm the rsvp through Yelp. Today (the day of the reservation) I get another text to call the restaurant cause the rsvp wasnt approved. I call and am told that the restaurant doesnt take rservations during the weekend & that they wont sit my party. That the host that took my rsvp over a week ago didnt know. Why did it take them almost two weeks to let me know?! Unprofessional. This was a very disappointing establishment to walk into, not only was I kicked out but we were told we were harassing MEN, mind you we were a group of about 7 females. Absurd. Tacos were okay, drinks were eh, but DO NOT come in a group. Waitress gave us the bill, asked us to split it. 40 min later we had all been charged four times. Some other waitress came over to give us a mouthful be WE split the bill wrong? (And I mean like finger in the face yelling at us sort of mouthful) They add a 20% gratuity to checks over 6 people, we included that 20% in each of our shares and that caused some sort of problem in their system. If they had just told us that we'd have left it out. But they didn't. And that was our fault? That lady called the manager when we complained about being charged 20% for a 40min wait, no food, no drinks, and STILL no bill. The manager was... maybe just another waiter? He didn't help, that's for sure. Just offered an equally insincere formality of an apology and reexplained the same crap about how their 20% gratuity was incompatible with the bill split they made us do. As far as I'm concerned, they don't deserve the 20% at all, and they'll certainly never get another dime from me or from anyone who ever asks me about this place. This was the worst experience I have ever had in Clarendon - there are so many great options in this area, my suggestion to anyone reading this is to try somewhere else. read more

Oh Don Tito!!! How I love thee! Where do I start? First off, I'm not all into the hype of "nightlife ritzy Clarendon". Remember, I live in the podunk part of Lorton/Springfield and HATE to drive. Period. Anything more then 10 minutes is a hassle for me. I hate traffic and I have road rage. Wanted to see what the hype was about. Well worth the drive and will keep coming back. Been here several times already, but haven't been on a weekend yet. Ok, so this place has three levels. I'm greedy. Spent time in all three. Love Love LOVE! Go see Dante the bartender. He is supercool and makes great drinks! They have a huge list of cocktails and adult beverages you can choose from. Happy hour specials are great and um......sooooo glad I came on TACO TUESDAY!!!! I've had the blood orange martini (which is highly addictive and delicious) and the sangria (also yummy). My goal is to go through every cocktail on the menu. (That could take a while since it's a very large list). Oh and let's not forget the unlimited chips and salsa. I have not come on a weekend (I'm sure it gets mad packed), but maybe will venture out on a popular night. I like how the crowd seems a little older (and not your typical "I just turned 21" scene). I had some good conversations with people at the bar who was more interested in having an actual conversation, enjoying a good beverage and some good food than "getting trashed". Not your typical "teeny bopper" scene which was refreshing. Go to happy hour and go see Dante the bartender! Good food, good drinks, great service. I love Don Tito! I had such a great experience at DT the first time, I went several times since. The owners and staff are extremely friendly. The food is great.. I recommend the short rib tacos, the frozen mango swirl margarita and the churros! (personal favorites) The entire restaurant is gorgeous but I am most excited to utilize the rooftop when the weather is right :) The selfie mirror on the top floor is a great touch to the decor (bc who doesn't love selfies?!) Good, cheap, tasty bar food. If you're looking for a fancy restaurant, move on. But for the Clarendon Strip, this is a nice new addition to the usual fare. The happy hour runs until 8P, which is nice. The staff was very attentive, despite some communication issues between the kitchen and the staff. I hate to admit it since I'm not so much of an A-town fan, but Don Tito you have won my pretty little heart. I have been here several times for happy hours, brunch, dinner, late night shenanigans, and summer mid-day rooftop chillin'. Each floor has a different vibe so one person's experience is unlike another. Happy Hour: It gets packed, often times shoulder to shoulder, especially on Thursday evenings. $3-4 beers, $5 wines, $3 tacos $5-8 appetizers and daily specials. I'm pretty sure they have jumbo Margaritas on Thursday which plays very nicely with my lady friends and I. Brunch: $25 for all you can eat small plates is a total win. They also have a regular brunch menu and they don't restrict your entire group to ordering the endless option if one friend chooses to be skinny. With so many food options you can't really go wrong. You can pretty much try every single one of their tacos and so much more. The breakfast enchiladas, pork carnitas benedict, and huevos rancheros are the only breakfast like dishes among their regular small plate options. Also, dessert is included. No judgment if you want to order all 4 desserts. Unfortunately due to strict VA ABC laws they are not allowed to have an bottomless drink option. Dinner: Steak fajitas, yum. Late night shenanigans: I plead the fifth. Rooftop: There's always a line to the rooftop (day or night) and some of the time it's not even that great to be honest. But my last experience was the epitome of an extraordinary rooftop experience. Summertime, Saturday, sunshine and low humidity, and the best friends a girl could have. There were three of us and we managed to snag two seats at the bar. You know what's normally super annoying, sitting at the bar and people trying to order drinks around you, on top of you, basically through you. But that's what you get when you choose to sit at the bar. However, we never felt vandalized or that there was a lack of personal space. So I completely understand why they hold the line to the rooftop to make sure it doesn't get too crowded and people can thoroughly enjoy themselves. So if you want some of the action you better come early or be patience and wait in line. The bartenders did such a great job of taking care of us. They were super friendly and personable, going out of their way to make sure we had a great time, didn't mind we took up prime space and encouraged us to stay and continue laughing and talking with our hands (which by the way is what great friends do). By nightfall we were all best friends and throwing high fives. We felt so welcomed that we initially were going to have a drink or two and move on to other location but ended up staying for hours just laughing away. The bartenders after hours of work and standing and putting up with us and the thirsty crowd never stopped smiling and continued to provide quick and excellent service. Decided to try Don titos with a friend, we were greeted right away as soon as we came in. Got seated right away to our reserved table. The waiter was great abs friendly. Gave is him recommendations of what he liked and what was popular. We ordered the Mac and cheeses balls for an appetizer. They are fantastic highly reccomend those. They came out in less then 10 minutes. We then ordered a Baja beer battered taco, carne asada taco, and a chicken quesadilla. Our man course was ready in 10-13 minutes. The Food was fantastic it had great flavor and great seasoning. The atmosphere was amazing and vibrant. It was loud but not loud enough were I had to scream to my friend who was right next to me. The design of the restaurant is incredible, it definitely goes well with the atmosphere! The owner Scott came to check on us to see how are food was and if everything was okay, so did the mangers. I was skeptical because the owners are from A-Town and Bronx Pizza but apparently they know Mexican. The food was great(way better than MexiCali) and reasonably priced. Visited Don Titos for the second time 1 May Friday evening around 6:00pm. Extremely disappointed in the service. We are an older couple and upon our arrival we are taken up to the second floor where we were seated at one of the tall tables for two. Ten minutes goes by and no water and no wait staff comes by. Lots of noise, people at the bar but no one comes by. One minute later here comes the chips and salsa but no water. Three ladies in their early twenties are seated next to us and the lower tables for 4 and with 4 minutes has drinks and a waitress. We still have no one. I told my partner that if the waitress walks by without even acknowledging us that we would leave. So we left and went to Fuegos our favorite restaurant and within 10 minutes we were eating delicious food and wonderful drinks. So note to self if you are 60 with an income of over 250k and own your own business with 70 employees (half of which are in their mid to late 20's) remember the lack of service you received and mark Don Tito off the list.
